                                          GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
A. GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
To accept the offer of a Ryerson scholarship, fellowship or award, you must agree to these terms and conditions by
signing and returning one copy to your Program Administrator in the Yeates School of Graduate Studies (YSGS). If
you are an incoming student, you must also accept your Offer of Admission by the confirmation deadline, or the
funding offer will be withdrawn.

Registration: To be eligible for these funds you must maintain full-time enrolment and attendance in your program at
Ryerson and be actively engaged in full-time academic pursuits in your current program. An offer of Ryerson funding
is not transferable to another program.
Withdrawal during a term in which a graduate student has received a Ryerson scholarship, fellowship or
award will require repayment of this funding in an amount calculated based on the Ryerson University tuition
refund policy. i.e. full repayment if withdrawal occurs before the final date to withdraw and be eligible for full
refund of fees; 50% repayment if withdrawal occurs before the final date to withdraw and be eligible for 50%
refund of fees; and no repayment required if withdrawal is after that date.

Scholarship/Fellowship/Award Renewal: An internal scholarship, fellowship or award is tenable for the term set out in
the award letter, usually two terms or three terms; they are not renewable. Eligible students will automatically be
considered for scholarships, fellowships and awards in subsequent years.

If you hold a $20,000 Rogers Fellowship and are awarded an external scholarship, award or sponsorship that is
administered by Ryerson and that is greater than $5,000, you must accept the external scholarship in place of your

considered for Rogers Fellowships in subsequent years.

C. ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:

D. DISBURSEMENT OF FUNDS:
Your scholarship will be paid to you at the beginning of each term in equal instalments. It is a Ryerson policy that
scholarship funds must flow through your student account. This process ensures that a T4A for income tax purposes
is automatically generated. The instalments will be deposited to your student fees account and credited towards any
outstanding balances. If there are funds remaining, a refund cheque will be sent to the mailing address on Ryerson’s
Administrative Management Self Service (RAMSS). Keep your mailing address current. If your cheque goes to an out-
dated address, it may take up to two months to re-issue a missing cheque.

Your payments will begin in the term that your scholarship was approved to begin. Your instalments will be applied to
your student account in the first month of each term (September, January, May), after your term enrolment has been
confirmed.

At any time, you can check RAMSS to see when an instalment has been transferred into your fees account and when
a refund cheque has been issued to you. If you see that a cheque has been issued to you, and a reasonable amount
of time has been allowed for the delivery of mail (approximately two weeks), but you have not received the cheque, you
should contact the Student Fees Office.
You will NOT be charged late fees during these months (September, January, May) if there is no outstanding balance
by the end of the month. It is your responsibility to calculate and pay any charges not covered by an award.

By signing this form, I confirm that I have read, understood, and will abide by the Terms and Conditions above, and
any other Terms and Conditions that are associated with my award.

I HEREBY SWEAR THAT I WILL BE ENGAGED FULL-TIME IN ACADEMIC PURSUITS DURING EVERY MONTH
THAT I AM RECEIVING THIS FUNDING, AND I UNDERSTAND THAT I WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REPAYING
THE FUNDING IN FULL, SHOULD I VIOLATE THIS AGREEMENT.
