Virgin Australia Supercars Championship Supplementary Regulations Page 1 of 11 2018 Red Rooster Sydney SuperNight 300 – Race 21 © Supercars Australia 2018 VIRGIN AUSTRALIA SUPERCARS CHAMPIONSHIP – RACE 21 CAMS PERMIT NUMBER: 818/0408/01 SUPPLEMENTARY REGULATIONS FOR SUPERCARS STANDARD REQUIREMENTS 1.1 EVENT TITLE, DATE & VENUE 1.1.1 The Event will be known as the “Red Rooster Sydney SuperNight 300” (hereinafter referred to as “the Event”) which will also comprise race 21 of the 2018 Virgin Australia Supercars Championship (“the VCS”), and be held at Sydney Motorsport Park, Eastern Creek, New South Wales on 3rd – 4th August 2018.

ADMINISTRATION 2.1 ENTRIES 2.1.1 Competitors must have completed the 2018 Supercars Entry Registration Form. 2.1.2 Administration checking will commence at 1300hrs (AEST) on Friday 3rd August 2018. 2.1.3 Any Competitors that need to change or add any details contained in their 2018 Entry Registration Form must do so at the Supercars Operations Transporter prior to the commencement of the Competitor’s Authorised Representatives Briefing on Friday 3rd August 2018.

2.1.4 No change of Drivers will be accepted later than 1630hrs (AEST) on Friday 3rd August 2018 unless exceptional circumstances, as determined by the Stewards, warrant a change after that time. 2.2 ACCREDITATION CARDS (PASSES) & TEAM PARKING 2.2.1 The Series Accreditation Cards will be recognised by the Organisers. 2.2.2 Accreditation will be required from Friday 3rd August 2018. 2.2.3 Each entry will be allocated 2 VIP car parking passes to park in the VIP Car Park accessible via the main entrance (figure 8), and 2 Teams car parking passes to park in the P3 Car Park, located on the left prior to the paddock tunnel.

Please note that the VIP and P3 car park is located on the inside of the Circuit, and as such, all personnel in the vehicle must have a valid Event ticket or pass to enter.

All deliveries must be completed outside of the Event Operating hours as listed in Supplementary Regulation 8.1.1. Cars with this pass must park in the P3 Car Park and as such, will also be issued with a P3 Car Park car parking pass. Both passes must be displayed at all times.

2.3 ACCREDITATION CENTRE OPENING HOURS 2.3.1 The accreditation centre is located at the main gate at Sydney Motorsport Park.

2.3.2 The accreditation centre will be open at the following times: 2.3.2.1 Thursday 2nd August 0900 - 1700 2.3.2.2 Friday 3rd August 0830 - 1700 2.3.2.3 Saturday 4th August 0830 - 1800 TECHNICAL 3.1 SCRUTINEERING 3.1.1 Scrutineering will commence at 1300hrs (AEST) on Friday 3rd August 2018. SPORTING 4.1 DRIVER CONDITIONS POLICY 4.1.1 In accordance with Rule D3.4.4, the nearest Town or City to the Circuit, as listed by the Bureau of Meteorology is Eastern Creek.

http://www.bom.gov.au/places/nsw/eastern-creek/forecast/ 4.2 BRIEFINGS 4.2.1 A briefing for all Competitor’s Authorised Representatives will be held at 1630hrs (AEST) on Friday 3rd August 2018 in the Virgin Australia Paddock Club (Hinxman Room), located above the Pit Garages at the pit entry end of Pit Lane. 4.2.2 A briefing for all Competitors and Drivers will be held at 1915hrs (AEST) on Friday 3rd August 2018 in the Virgin Australia Paddock Club (Hinxman Room), located above the Pit Garages at the pit entry end of Pit Lane.

4.3 TYRE FITTING, ALLOCATION AND USAGE 4.3.1 Control tyre fitting will commence from 0930hrs on Friday 3rd August 2018 in the Dunlop facility located in the Supercars paddock.

4.4 QUALIFYING 4.4.1 In addition to the requirements of Rule D6, qualifying for the race will be conducted in accordance with this Supplementary Regulation and as prescribed in the Event Program. 4.4.2 Qualifying – Race 21: 4.4.2.1 Qualifying - Part 1 (Q1): During the first ten (10) minutes of the Session only the bottom sixteen (16) Cars in order of the final combined classification from practice 1 and 2 will be permitted to Compete. At the end of Q1, the slowest ten (10) Cars will not be permitted to take any further part in the Session. The lap times achieved by the six (6) remaining Cars will then be deleted.

Virgin Australia Supercars Championship Supplementary Regulations Page 4 of 11 2018 Red Rooster Sydney SuperNight 300 – Race 21 © Supercars Australia 4.4.2.2 Qualifying - Part 2 (Q2): After a five (5) minute break the Session will resume for Ten (10) minutes and only the top ten (10) Cars in order of the final combined classification from practice 1 and 2 and the top six (6) Cars from Q1 will be permitted to Compete. At the end of Q2, the slowest six (6) Cars will not be permitted to take any further part in the Session. The lap times achieved by the ten (10) remaining Cars will then be deleted.

4.4.2.3 Qualifying - Part 3 (Q3): After a five (5) minute break the Session will resume for Ten (10) minutes and only the top ten (10) Cars from Q2 will be permitted to Compete.

4.5 RULE D6.1.11 4.5.1 For this Event, delete Rule D6.1.11 in its entirety and replace with the following: D6.1.11 any Driver or Car that causes a red flag during a qualifying Session will not be permitted to take any further part in that qualifying Session and will have their fastest lap in that Part of the qualifying Session deleted. 4.6 GRID DETERMINATION 4.6.1 Grid positions will be determined by the final classification of qualifying and as follows: 4.6.1.1 The last ten (10) grid positions will be occupied by the Cars eliminated in Q1 with the fastest Car in 17th position.

4.6.1.2 The next six (6) grid positions will be occupied by the Cars eliminated in Q2 with the fastest Car in 11th position.

4.6.1.3 The top ten (10) grid positions will be occupied by the Cars, which Competed in Q3 with the fastest Car in 1st position. 4.6.2 Cars that are disqualified from the qualifying Session will start at the rear of the grid in order of the final combined classification of practice from fastest Driver to slowest Driver. 4.7 BRAKE CHANGES 4.7.1 Delete Rule D19.1.1 and replace with the following: D19.1.1 For the VCS Events conducted at Winton and Sydney Motorsport Park, it is not permitted to change front brake discs and/or front brake pads without the permission of the S&TD from the commencement of qualifying on Saturday until the end of the race on Sunday Saturday.

4.8 SPECIFIC PRESCRIPTIONS - START PROCEDURE 4.8.1 In addition to the Specific Prescriptions detailed in this Start Procedure, each Team must also comply with any relevant instructions detailed in the Promotional Schedule. 4.8.2 Fifty minutes 4.8.2.1 When 50 minutes remain before the formation lap, a warning will be sounded. 4.8.2.2 Each Car must be in its Pit Bay at an angle of 45 degrees with the front of the Car pointing toward Pit Exit.

4.8.3 Forty-Five minutes 4.8.3.1 When 45 minutes remain before the formation lap, a warning will be sounded. 4.8.3.2 A Team Member must drive the Car on the parade lap to its allocated position at a maximum speed of 80km/h. 4.8.3.3 Pit Exit will open and each Car will leave it’s Pit Bay when instructed by the Supercars Official for 1 parade lap led by the Safety Car. 4.8.3.4 Each Car must exit Pit Lane in Pit Garage order unless otherwise permitted by the S&TD.

Virgin Australia Supercars Championship Supplementary Regulations Page 5 of 11 2018 Red Rooster Sydney SuperNight 300 – Race 21 © Supercars Australia 4.8.3.5 At the end of the parade lap and when approaching the Supercars Officials on the Pit Straight, each Car must keep its engine running until it has reached the Supercars Official.

4.8.3.6 Each Car will then be lined up at 45 degrees with the front of the Car pointing toward Turn 1 in Pit Lane order on the Pit Straight. 4.8.3.7 Team members may approach the Car when instructed by the Supercars Officials.

4.8.3.8 An audible warning will sound 2 minutes before the closure of the Pit Exit. 4.8.4 Forty minutes 4.8.4.1 When 40 minutes remain before the formation lap, a warning will be sounded. 4.8.4.2 The Pit Exit will close. 4.8.5 Fifteen minutes 4.8.5.1 When 15 minutes remain before the formation lap, a warning will be sounded. 4.8.5.2 All Team guests are to be clearing the formation area via the gate at the western end of the grandstand. 4.8.5.3 Promotional staff are to leave the formation area and walk on the grass apron to the grid, and hold until instructed to access the grid.

4.8.6 Ten minutes 4.8.6.1 When 10 minutes remain before the formation lap, a warning will be sounded.

4.8.6.2 Each Car will leave it’s allocated position on the Pit Straight for 1 reconnaissance lap. a) Pit Exit will remain closed. b) Each Car must leave its allocated position in Pit Garage order unless a Car is unable to leave its allocated position or is waiting until all the other Cars have departed. In this case the Car controller must notify the next Car that they are not moving and that the next Car may proceed. c) Any such Car will be required to remain in its allocated position until the last Car in Pit Garage order has passed it.

4.8.6.3 Once the last Car on the Pit Straight has passed the Pit Exit, Pit Exit will open. 4.8.6.4 Any Car which is in Pit Lane may leave its Pit Bay for 1 reconnaissance lap. 4.8.6.5 At the end of the reconnaissance lap and when approaching the grid, each Car must keep its engine running until it has stopped at its allocated grid position. 4.8.6.6 Team members and promotional staff may then approach the Car. 4.8.6.7 If a Car fails to take its allocated grid position at the end of its reconnaissance lap, it may only start the race from Pit Exit.

4.8.6.8 An audible warning will be sounded 2 minutes before the closure of Pit Exit.

4.8.7 Five minutes 4.8.7.1 When 5 minutes, remain before the formation lap, a warning will be sounded and a 5-minute board will be displayed by the starter. 4.8.7.2 The Pit Exit will close. 4.8.7.3 Cars qualified to start but which have not exited the Pit Lane may be permitted to start the race from the Pit Exit. 4.8.7.4 Team promotional staff must be clearing the grid at this time. 4.8.8 Three minutes 4.8.8.1 When 3 minutes remain before the formation lap, a warning will be sounded and a 3-minute board displayed by the starter.

Virgin Australia Supercars Championship Supplementary Regulations Page 6 of 11 2018 Red Rooster Sydney SuperNight 300 – Race 21 © Supercars Australia 4.8.9 Two minutes 4.8.9.1 When 2 minutes remain before the formation lap, a warning will be sounded and a 2-minute board will be displayed by the starter. 4.8.9.2 The grid will then be cleared of all personnel except for necessary Team members, authorised TV personnel and authorised Officials. 4.8.10 One minute 4.8.10.1 When 1 minute remains before the formation lap, a warning will be sounded, and a 1-minute board displayed by the starter. All personnel must be clearing the grid at this time.

4.8.11 Thirty seconds 4.8.11.1 When 30 seconds remain before the formation lap a warning will be sounded and the starter will display a 30 second board. 4.8.12 Formation lap 4.8.12.1 When the starter displays the green flag, all Cars may then proceed on a formation lap led by the Car on pole position. 4.8.12.2 During the formation lap, Cars are required to maintain their starting order. 4.8.12.3 Overtaking is only allowed in order to re-establish the original starting order. a) Any Driver who is unable to re-establish the original starting order before they reach SC1 must either start from the rear of the grid or enter the Pit Lane and start from the Pit Exit.

4.8.12.4 If a Car does not start or stalls, the Driver must give an appropriate signal. a) The Car may be push started by Officials, or, if so directed by Officials, by Team members, but only after the rest of the field has left the grid. b) The Car must enter Pit Lane at the first opportunity. c) Prior to continuing, the Driver must be able to demonstrate to the S&TD that the Car can be started on the starter motor without any external assistance. 4.8.13 Return to Grid 4.8.13.1 When the Car returns to the grid, it must stop on its allocated grid position. 4.8.14 Five second indication 4.8.14.1 When the starter is satisfied that all Cars are correctly positioned, they will indicate that there are approximately 5 seconds before the red light will be switched on.

4.8.14.2 At this time all Cars that took their correct place on the grid prior to the start of the formation lap, or that are, in Pit Lane, at or approaching the Pit Exit, are deemed to have come under starter’s orders. 4.8.15 Race Start 4.8.15.1 At any time not less than 2 seconds and not more than 3 seconds after the red light is switched on, the start of the race will be indicated by the extinguishing of the red light. 4.8.15.2 If the lights are not functioning, the National Flag will be used, it will be raised at the 5 second mark, and lowered between 2 and 3 seconds later to indicate the start of the race.

4.9 RACE FINISH – TIME CERTAIN 4.9.1 In accordance with the provisions of Rule A1.8, the Stewards may amend the Time Certain finish of Race 21.

Virgin Australia Supercars Championship Supplementary Regulations Page 7 of 11 2018 Red Rooster Sydney SuperNight 300 – Race 21 © Supercars Australia OPERATIONS 5.1 ACCESS TO PADDOCK 5.1.1 The set-up of the Supercars paddock will be at the discretion of the Supercars Paddock Manager or their delegate. 5.1.2 Transporters are required to split to enter the paddock for park up. 5.1.3 Transporters must not enter the paddock prior to 1600hrs (AEST) on Thursday 2nd August 2018.

All transporters must be parked in position by 1900hrs (AEST). 5.1.4 Unless otherwise approved by the Paddock Manager or their delegate, Teams are permitted to commence unloading transporters at 0900hrs (AEST) on Friday 3rd August 2018.

5.1.4.1 The paddock is open to the public on Friday 3rd August Teams from 0800hrs. 5.1.4.2 Teams are required to erect tensa barriers or hazard tape at the front of their transporters from 0900hrs to 1300hrs to prevent patrons accessing the rear of transporters during unload. 5.1.5 Passenger vehicles are not permitted to enter the Supercars paddock at any time during the Event. 5.2 RACE TRACK WALK 5.2.1 Teams are permitted to undertake their Race Track walk on Friday 3rd August 2018 between 0800hrs and 1000hrs (AEST) and Saturday 4th August between 0800hrs and 1000hrs (AEST).

5.3 TRANSPORTER DEPARTURE AFTER THE EVENT 5.3.1 Unless otherwise advised by the Supercars Paddock Manager or their delegate, no Team transporter will be permitted to move from its allocated position or leave the Supercars paddock on Saturday 4th August 2018.

TECHNICAL 6.1 EVENT ALLOCATED TYRES 6.1.1 For this Event, there is no handback tyre requirement for Teams as per D17.7.5.2. 6.1.2 For this Event, delete the Event Allocated Tyre Table D17 and replace with: MARKETING 7.1 PROMOTIONAL SCHEDULE 7.1.1 Teams must adhere to the activities outlined in the promotional schedule and/or any subsequent updates as provided by the Supercars Media and Promotions Department. SPECIFIC CIRCUIT SAFETY REQUIREMENTS 8.1 EVENT OPERATING HOURS 8.1.1 The Event operating hours for the purpose of Rule E2 are as follows: 8.1.1.1 Friday 3rd August 1000 – 1840 8.1.1.2 Saturday 4th August 1000 – After VCS race 21 8.2 MEDICAL SERVICES 8.2.1 The Medical Centre is located between the VIP car park and the Supercars paddock and will be operational during the following times: 8.2.1.1 Friday 3rd August 0945 - 1900 8.2.1.2 Saturday 4th August 0945 - 2200 8.2.2 Any medical assistance that is required outside of the operating hours outlined in 7.2.1, please contact 000.

8.8 HEALTH AND SAFETY 8.8.1 In line with the New South Wales Health and Safety Act, the Supercars paddock will be a smoke-free zone for the duration of the Event.

Virgin Australia Supercars Championship Supplementary Regulations Page 9 of 11 2018 Red Rooster Sydney SuperNight 300 – Race 21 © Supercars Australia 8.9 UNMANNED AERIAL VEHICLES (UAV) PROHIBITION 8.9.1 Be advised that the use (operation) of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), drones, or other similar devices, by any Competitor, Team, Team member or person/s associated with a Team or Competitor is prohibited. 8.9.2 This prohibition extends for the period of the Event defined as the Event period over the Event area defined as the Event area.

8.9.3 It also includes the prohibition of the use (operation) of any unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), drone or similar device from outside the declared area of the Event over the declared area during the Event period.

8.9.4 A breach of this prohibition will result in the exclusion from the Event for any offending Competitor and or Team and Driver/s. All credentials or admission tickets issued to any offending Competitor or Team, and associated personnel will also be withdrawn. The prohibition and Penalty for a breach of same as outlined above, is in addition to any Penalty/Penalties that may occur as a result of Civil Aviation Authority (CASA) regulations in relation to the use of UAVs in controlled airspace, and over areas containing significant numbers of people.

8.10 SUPERCARS RIDE DAY 8.10.1 Ride activities will be conducted during the below times: 8.10.1.1 Sunday 5th August 1300 – 1700 8.10.1.2 Monday 6th August 0900 – 1230 // 1250 - 1700 8.10.2 Ride day participants is by invitation only. 8.10.3 Teams must ensure all guests complete/ sign the Passenger Ride Entry Form, to partake. The ride day is required to be conducted in accordance with the CAMS MSPRA policy.
