            LTHS Summer Student Membership Information
In order to participate in open gym or use the weight or fitness rooms each student must pur-
chase an LTHS student membership or pay the daily fee and provide a valid 2018-19 School
ID. LTHS student memberships allow the student access to participate in Intramurals with-
out paying the $2.00 daily fee. Daily fee users must sign a daily fee waiver form prior to each
visit and make the daily fee payment. A current student I.D. card is required for admittance
to CWC.

All students must check in at the CWC front desk prior to using the facility. LTHS student
members need to swipe their membership cards, while daily users need to present their valid
student I.D. card, sign daily waiver form and pay the daily fee. An additional fee will be
charged to participants of leagues and tournaments. These additional fees offset the cost of
t-shirts, equipment, supervision and additional costs associated with the activity.

L.T.H.S. and CWC Intramurals provide students with an opportunity to pursue their athletic
and recreational interests. Throughout the year, students have access to the fitness room,
weight room, indoor track, field house and swimming pool at designated times and days.
Activities ranging from open gym to leagues and tournaments are held for students who
enjoy both a competitive and non-competitive atmosphere.

                              Weight Room & Fitness Room
The weight and fitness rooms are open for use for all LTHS student memberships or those
that pay the daily fee. Students are allowed access to the facility from 5:30am—8:50pm,
Saturday 8:00am—12:00pm. All rules and regulations related to facility use are to be observed
during use.

Frequently Asked Questions about the LTHS Baseball Incoming
                Freshman Baseball Camp and Games
What is Incoming Freshman Baseball Camp and Games?
 Freshman baseball camp is a mix of practice and Instructional games. This will include instruction on
baseball fundamentals. The camp is used to accomplish the following:
 Introduce them to the Lockport brand of baseball
 Acclimate them to the Lockport baseball program
 Evaluate the talent level of each player
 Begin learning our system of plays, philosophy and signs.
Is a player required to attend Summer Camp?
 Summer camp is not mandatory, but is highly recommended. This is a key building block to a suc-
cessful season. Camp/League games are more opportunity for a player to improve, gain experience,
and exposure to their future high school coaches….

We have vacation plans during the summer camp dates that we cannot change. Will my son be
penalized for missing a week/day of camp?
 No, we understand that summer is one of the few times during the year when families can take vaca-
tions together. If you have plans that conflict with summer camp dates, all we ask is that you provide
us with advance notice of the dates that you will be unable to attend so we can plan accordingly.
We are going to miss a week/day(s) of summer camp. Do we get a discount off the price for not attending
camp in its entirety?
 Unfortunately we cannot provide discounts. The summer program is run through LTHS CWC and un-
fortunately we cannot prorate or refund partial amounts. However, if you are unable to attend the en-
tire camp, we would recommend that you attend what you can. Some attendance would be much more
beneficial to no attendance at all.
My son plans to play more than one sport. If the summer camps conflict with each other, do we have to
choose one?
 No. The Lockport baseball and athletic programs are different than most high school programs in this
respect…we encourage our players to participate in more than one sport or activity and thus go out of
our way to accommodate the requirements of multi-sport athletes. In many cases you will find that
members of our baseball staff are also involved in coaching other sports at Lockport. If there is a con-
flict with the summer camp dates and times, please let us know in advance and we will work out an
equitable time trade off with the other sport so that your son can participate in both.

      Country/Distance Running Camp

Group distance training is emphasized. Each camper will be a part of an environment that fosters growth to
safely run further and faster. These gains are developed through consistent distance runs along with proper
instruction of running form, flexibility, yoga, and functional core strength. The time spent offers individual
attention helping each camper to build the foundation that will lead to a successful cross country season in the
fall. Campers will receive a specially designed distance running related item to remind them of their time spent
at the camp.
