Ardesia takes everything in stride and is very confident in her rider. She was fostered by Arendahl
Dressage Farm for 6 weeks shortly after entering the program and has no injuries, vices or faults. During
her foster stay she had a handful of training rides but mostly did a lot of adapting to the sport horse
lifestyle. Ardesia does walk, trot, canter both directions but is still very track green. She has big, beautiful
movement and is not heavy on the forehand. We would love to see her excel in the dressage ring. She
loads, bathes, stands tied, in cross-ties and for the farrier. Ardesia is up to date on worming, vaccines and
farrier work, she is currently in front shoes. Ardesia is currently fostered and working on groundwork in
her foster home.

Beau catches everyone’s eye with his deep black color and warm personality. He is very smart and willing
and really needs a job to challenge him mentally and physically. In hand he is respectful and in your
pocket. He came into the program with a cold, set bow and has never taken a lame step on it with us but
the date of injury is unknown. He has no limitations and is very athletic.
Beau had no behavioral concerns prior to spring, when the mares started cycling her started to corral the
geldings he was turned out with and displaying stud like tendencies. Blood tests confirmed that he was
cryptorchid and surgery was successfully completed on 5/7/2019. He made a full recovery with no
complications and is now adapting well to gelded life.

Lady presented with multiple pelvic fractures and a body score of 2-3 out of 10. Our vet team
recommended euthanasia or stall rest for 60 days and recheck. At 65 days she showed significant
improvement soundness wise and an ultrasound showed the fractures were still present but healing. If
she continues to heal this way she may be sound in 6 months.
Due to the degree of pain Lady was in upon arrival she was very tense and often tried to bite at the gate
or handlers. She had little interest in human contact or attention and was very shut down. Since the
introduction of effective pain management she has come around significantly. She perks up when people
approach, greets you at the gate and knows her name. We are excited to see her continue to blossom as
she heals.

wanting to run. Though we were told she retired sound she was thoroughly vetted upon intake due to the
DNF. Beyond being footsore the day after having her shoes pulled, nothing was found upon exam. She
has solid, clean legs and clean radiographs of her front knees and pasterns.
Roxy is adapting well to the farm life and quickly gaining weight. She is sweet and easy going, she doesn’t

Drew arrived with a severe left front quarter crack, radiographs showed substantial deterioration of the
left side of the coffin bone due to the prolonged lack of treatment. The damage has resulted in less
structural support and he will need a patch over the area and well placed shoeing in the future to prevent
reoccurrence. Dr. Bramlage reviewed the radiographs of both front fetlocks and recommended 2 months
downtime to relax before beginning re-training, he will have no limitations beyond not returning to racing.
Drew has the sweetest personality, very in your pocket and he very happily will leave the other horses in
the field to come galloping to greet you. Drew’s favorite hobbies are getting cookies and neck scratches
from his favorite people. He shows an exceptional amount of talent and athletic ability. Drew is well

“Smarty” presented with a knee chip, radiographs were taken and the recommend surgery was
performed. During her stall rest post-surgery she refused to keep a bandage. She ran the stall and was
regular anxious, losing weight and the glow to her coat. During stall rest she also earned the nickname
“Smarty” when she figured out how to open her stall door and let herself out.
Prior to her surgery she went to the indoor four days after coming off the track, where she easily walk,
trot, cantered both directions and went over ground poles. She has a friendly, affectionate personality and

Upon arrival he presented with occasional stall aggression which pointed to both pain and lack of patience
from previous handlers but he really wanted to be loved. He has since become a social butterfly, happy to
greet everyone and come in for is check-ups. Shortly after arrival he presented with a fever and severe
unknown lameness and was diagnosed with white line disease and laminitis. He had a series of glue on
casts on the bottom of his front hooves and then Sigafoo shoes which came off in mid-May. His feet have
since grown out and the angel corrected. He is comfortable barefoot and expected to remain so though
any level of work. He stands quietly for the farrier, baths, and loves impromptu photoshoots!

Storm vetted clean upon entering our program, she was tender-footed briefly after pulling shoes and
getting trimmed. Her feet grew out well and she is currently barefoot.
While Storm is very well behaved and in your pocket, she is still very green. She is very sensitive to
correction and her feelings are hurt easily with a heavy hand. She loves to learn and is the type of horse
that pauses, thinks it through, takes a big sigh and moves on. She has no bolt!
Storm was adopted out this spring to a poor situation and had to come back. Since her return she has put
the weight back on nicely. She has been very relaxed during her handful of trips off property and hasn’t

Ransom has made an impact on every person to meet him! His breeder reached out after he had entered
out program and paid his adoption fee! He gets along with his pasture mates and is on 24/7 turnouts.
Upon intake we found limited range of motion in both front ankles and radiographs showed osselets in
both ankles and a knee chip. The vet recommended 60 days of turn out to allow the knee to heal, and he
will absolutely be limited to flat work only. He has completed his rehab and is cleared to start light
training; he does have permanent swelling in his knee and ankle.

Cat presented with a severe quarter crack in his right front with minor changes to the coffin bone, which
is growing out well. He also had a deep abscess in the left side of his heel behind the crack. His rehab plan
utilized a glue-on shoe with a treatment plate to offer support and allow the abscess to drain and heal. He
is fitted with a patch over the crack to support it and is expected to be able to go barefoot upon
completion of his rehab.
Cat is one of the nicest and most talented horses to come through our program. He would be a lovely

Kelleri has the kindest soul, she will give you everything that she has and for no reason other than
because she loves people. She is no drama in their field or in the barn. Not mare-ish and not going to
squeal when she sees new horses. She has not gotten buddy sour even though she is on full turnout with
5 other mares. She has no injuries or limitations and would be a perfect starter project for a young rider
who is ready to restart one by themselves. Very kid friendly, a barn favorite for our farm manager’s one
year old son and Kelleri loves him just as much!
Kelleri came into the program underweight and was very hard to put weight on – all of the usual routes
did not improve her condition. After she blew an abscess, our amazing podiatrist took radiographs which
showed she had multiple abscesses in both front feet with tracks going straight up instead of long and
shallow. She was fitted with treatment plate shoes and maggots to assist in resolving the infection. In 2
WEEKS Kelleri was sound and started packing on weight. She is still gaining weight to fill out over her
topline but she is now barefoot and on 24/6 turnout.
Kelleri is an extremely mild cribber – we have only seen her crib in the stall on her water bucket. Now
when she is stalled she gets a 30gal tank in the corner of her stall that sits on the ground so she cannot
crib on it. Outside she is usually too busy eating grass to care about cribbing, she doesn’t wear a collar for
turnout and she does not tear up the fences.

“Missy” presented with a “comminuted medial base sesamoid fracture” to her right front. Swelling was
present but she was not significantly off on the leg with the fracture. History of lameness on intake to our
Louisiana facility leads us to believe the fracture is recent within the last couple of months and not from
her last start. Prognosis from Dr. Bramlage is that time will make her sound in the field but any more than
riding at the walk will be a stretch. Missy one of the few horses who will take care of her self and heal, she
has a quiet demeanor that would make a transition to a timid rider’s walk mount almost effortless. She
stood quietly for the farrier, x-rays, and photos. She quickly charmed herself into a favorite position with
both the vets and barn help.
Missy is only cleared for light riding due to the high chance of reinjury. Her personality would make her a
wonderful therapy horse as well as a possible Competitive Trail prospect for the Makeover.Lougarou (LA)

Lunarstrike presented with severe laminitis right front that cannot be corrected as the coffin bone has
major changes. As long as she has regular and correct farrier work she will have no limitations and should
have no problem going barefoot in the future. She had radiographs taken on June 4 by Rood & Riddle
Podiatry and is moving sound after being fitted with an Ultimate glue-on shoe right front on June 6.
Lunarstrike was the only horse in her arrival group who stood quietly for the podiatrist even while he had
to measure, x-ray, sterilize and fit a special shoe. She is very quiet and willing to do anything. Sensitive
type who will try her heart out and be offended by a heavy hand.
On July 4 updated x-rays show sole depth has improved dramatically. The right front “Ultimate” was
replaced with Sigafoo shoes on both fronts. She is moving more sound consistently but is not ready to
start training yet. She is currently sore barefoot but should have no limitations when her rehab is

Methuselah is a name that fits this very distinct horse, he is 16.3-1/2 and missing one of his eyes. He has
amazing spatial awareness when compared to the others who have come in with one eye. He has an
ankle that is not pretty on the inside or the outside due to an osselet but will not stop him from being a
low level competition or event horse. Radiographs can be presented upon request.

very eager to please. She responds best to a very quiet hand that will allow her to think through a
situation and come up with the correct response to what you are asking. She has made huge progress
and has shown a huge amount of talent. Sophie has given walk/trot lessons to timid riders and does
amazing; her light mouth makes a downward transition easy. Sophie can easily go in any direction from
