2020 Scholastic Achievement Foundation Scholarships
$1000 and $1500 individual scholarships will be awarded to students selected by our Scholarship
Committee. Scholarship recipients are selected on an objective and competitive basis considering
academic and non-academic factors with an emphasis on demonstrated financial need, unless otherwise
noted.
• In addition to the $1000 and $1500 scholarships, a Four-Year Scholarship is available from
Florida Atlantic University, Lynn University, Palm Beach State College and FAMU. Please help
us spread the word about these amazing scholarship opportunities. The separate applications
for each school are included in the Scholarship Application portion of this packet. The students
applying for the FAU, Lynn University, and PBSC and FAMU Scholarships must be accepted to
attend the school. In particular students applying for the FAMU scholarship must have applied
and been accepted by November 1 2019. Students not planning to attend these schools do not
need to fill out those applications.
• We also have a $1000 for a student planning on attending the University of Michigan at Ann
Arbor. If you have a student(s) planning to apply and attend this university please be sure to
have them complete the scholarship application and make a note of this.
Scholarship applicants must be students who have been selected to attend the Dinner. Every student
attending the dinner does not have to apply for a scholarship if they feel they do not meet our criteria.
Recipients of the scholarships will be informed prior to the dinner through communication with the
school’s guidance department.
DETERMINATION OF FINANCIAL NEED
A need analysis is conducted considering the total cost of education, the expected parent/guardian
and/or student contribution, and other grant and loan funds awarded to the student. Scholarship
finalists may be contacted and asked to provide information to the Scholastic Achievement Foundation
on any other grants or loans by schools and other funding sources awarded to or pending for the
student. This information will be held in the strictest confidence.
PAYMENT OF AWARDS
Payments for the $1000 and $1500 Scholarships are forwarded in equal disbursements. Students will
have two years following the award of the scholarship to request the funds. Proof of full time
enrollment at the college or university will be required before disbursement. Payment of the Four-Year
Scholarships will be determined by the awarding university.STUDENT RECIPIENT EXPECTATIONS
Upon being selected and notified of receiving of a scholarship, the individual student must write a thank
you letter to the donor of their scholarship within one week. They will be given the contact information
to facilitate this. They will also need to send a copy to the Scholastic Achievement Foundation. We feel
it is important for the students to recognize the generosity of the scholarship donor.
APPLICATION PROCESS
To apply for a scholarship, participants must submit the attached application and enclose the requested
documentation and forms. An application without the required attachments will be considered
incomplete and not reviewed. Completed application must be postmarked by February 7, 2020.

2020 STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
TO THE APPLICANT:
The Scholastic Achievement Foundation of Palm Beach County (SAF) provides $1,000 Scholarships and 2
$1500 Scholarships to be used towards tuition as a full-time student at a postsecondary education
institution. Scholarship recipients are selected on academic and non-academic factors with an emphasis
on demonstrated financial need. SAF also has partnered with four local institutions to provide four-year
scholarships
• Florida Atlantic University
• Lynn University
• Palm Beach State College
• Florida Agriculture and Mechanical University – November 1, 2019 Application Deadline
By accurately completing the information required in this application you will enable us to determine
your eligibility to receive funds provided specifically for tuition to help students planning to go on to
higher education, and who may satisfy our evaluation criteria.
Please complete the sections specific to you at your earliest convenience. Be sure to forward the
Appraisal Page to your principal/head master to complete and then include with your application. You
must also have the school complete the transcript information and then include it with your application
along with your transcripts.
If any question is not applicable to your current situation, please attach an explanatory note of why it
does not apply, referring to the question by section. If more space is required for any question or item,
you may attach a sheet with the additional information, referring to the question by section.
You are responsible for seeing that all supporting documents are submitted. The Scholarship
Achievement Foundation of Palm Beach County reserves the right not to process an application found
to be incomplete.Remember: This application becomes valid only when the following have been submitted:

Scholastic Achievement Foundation
We are pleased to announce that we will once again award the Florida Atlantic University
Scholastic Achievement Foundation Scholarship. Beginning with the Fall Term 2020, one
student recommended to the university by the Scholastic Achievement Foundation of Palm
Beach County will be granted a full in-state tuition scholarship which will provide tuition
and required fees for 15 credits per term for up to eight terms of study at Florida Atlantic
University. The award will be based totally on recognition by the Scholastic Achievement
Foundation evaluation of merit and need and will require no additional needs test. The student
must have already been admitted to the university or having a pending application for the 2020-
2021 Academic year.
Recipients must maintain a 2.5 grade point average at Florida Atlantic University to remain
eligible for continuation of the award. The Scholastic Achievement Foundation will notify the
University Director of Financial Aid of the selection of the student for this award.

Scholastic Achievement Foundation
Scholarship
We are pleased to announce that we will award this year the Lynn University Scholastic Achievement
Foundation Scholarship. One student per year recommended to the university by the Scholastic Achievement
Foundation will be granted a full-tuition scholarship, which will provide approximately $146,720 towards
tuition costs for 9-16 credits per semester for up to eight semesters of study at Lynn University. The
award will be based totally on recognition by the Scholastic Achievement Foundation evaluation of merit and
need and will require no additional needs test. Student will still need to submit a FAFSA to Lynn University.
Recipients must maintain a 3.0 grade point average at Lynn University to remain eligible for continuation of the
award.

Scholastic Achievement Foundation Scholarship
Palm Beach State College is a proud partner of the Scholastic Achievement Foundation. One student per year
will be recommended to the University by the Scholastic Achievement Foundation for a Presidential Honors
College Scholarship. This is A Two-year award worth $6,000. Students may renew for an additional Two-
year award, if the student continues in the PBSC Bachelor’s Program and meets criteria. The award will be
based on recognition by the Scholastic Achievement Foundation evaluation of merit. Identified recipient will
need to submit a FAFSA to Palm Beach State College for 2020-2021. The Scholarship criteria is as follows:
High school graduate with a minimum 3.5 unweighted GPA
• Must have College ready test scores
• Must participate in Honor's College “Gold Track”
• Must enroll for classes during the fall term following high school graduation
• Must enroll in 12 credit hours for Fall & Spring
Recipients must maintain a 3.5 grade point average at Palm Beach State College to remain eligible for
continuation of the award during their four years.
