WELCOME…TO OUR PARTY!
Good Evening!
Welcome to the Twenty-ninth American Boxer Top Twenty
event. Every year, it is our distinct honor and pleasure to kick off
an amazing ABC Week Monday night with an elegant show that
is considered the premier Top Twenty in the Nation.
This event is made possible because of the twenty top Boxers of
2017 which you will have the opportunity to see here tonight
along with some Top Twenty Past Winners here to Exhibit.
We welcome you and ask you to be sure to look for the colored
page in this catalog for the People’s Choice Ballot sponsored
by the Boxer Digest. Be sure to vote for your personal favorite
and see who is selected as People’s Choice Winner at the ABC
Awards Dinner!
Thanks for coming and now sit back and...

                            Enjoy!
                                 1
29 th Annual 2018 American Boxer Top Twenty
Tonight you will see the 20 Top Scoring Boxers of
2017 in Competition and some of the Past Winners
to Exhibit. This gives you a unique chance to see all
of these great dogs in the ring at one time and it
                      only happens once a year.
The Show begins when the three secret judges
are escorted into the ring and are introduced.
Then the lights go down-- anticipation rules and all
eyes go to the beautifully lit pergola awaiting the
first Boxer and handler to explode from the darkness into the spotlight
accompanied by their song…. The Show has begun……
Cheryl Robbins and her Crew has created a top notch production that
others have tried to emulate--- but none have succeeded. Our Top
Twenty and its special events have been called the greatest in the nation
and we credit Cheryl, Keith and their great crew and so many wonderful
volunteers.
In addition to the beauty and elegance of the evening, Dr. Larry Dosier
spends hours researching and updating the pedigrees to be sure each
is correct. And, of course, the flowers that you will see gracing the rings
all ABC Week are provided, yet again, by the generosity of Phillip Koenig
and the artful arranging and special care of Salli Moore-Kottas. Vickie
Rounsaville-Millard keeps our Website and Information updated and for
that we thank her. Barry Wyerman has done a careful job of selecting
and instructing the Nominating Committee… we thank each of them.
And, in addition, because of the generosity of Caryn Orlando and The
Boxer Digest, YOU can vote for YOUR choice of the winner. There is a
People’s Choice ballot in each catalog so be sure to fill it out and deposit
it in the box when you leave the show. The winner will be announced and
presented with a People’s Choice Ribbon and Plaque at the ABC Awards
dinner.
Huge thanks to all the wonderful volunteers who come help sell catalogs,
raffle tickets for the Evening Raffle and baskets and those who do so
much work behind the scenes to make everything as perfect as it can
possibly be. It takes so many great people and we thank each and every
one of them.
Now, as we thank you for coming, we ask you to sit back, get your catalogs
out, relax and ENJOY the evening… and these magnificent Boxers.
Let the show begin.

Chairman,
Loretta Parolisi

PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARD!
You Too Can Be A Judge!
At the back of this catalog you will find a People’s Choice
Ballot. Yes, YOU can vote for the Boxer that YOU feel was the
one you would pick.
You have been able to see each dog judged by three judges
and each judge marked their ballots using the criteria in this
catalog. Now YOU can do everything but the “hands on!”
Mark your ballot. (Only dogs in the Competition, not Past
Winners in Exhibition, will count.)
At the end of the show, as you leave the room, there will be
ballot boxes. Tear the marked ballot out of the catalog and
deposit it in the box.
The votes will be counted and the winner announced and
presented with a People’s Choice plaque and a People’s
Choice ribbon at the ABC Awards Dinner. The winner will
depend on YOU voting.
This Award is sponsored by Caryn Orlando and The Boxer
Digest. Please remember to thank them and pick YOUR
winner.

GCHP BREHO FORTURITY SHARED TREASURE,
DOM, CD, RN, RATO, CGC, TKI, FDC

                                          “Millee”
We are very proud of our sweet “Millee”! She was born August 22, 2010. The first time she
walked into show ring at barely 7 mos. & won Grand Sweeps & Reserve to 2 majors, we knew
she was going to be a “Treasure”! She always expected a new toy when she won because of those
given at that very first set of shows, so she always got one! She still loves her toys and takes very
good care of them!
She was 1st in her 6-9 Futurity class at ABC 2011 & Reserve puppy & won her regular class. She
finished her Championship from the BBX class at barely 9 months of age with 4 majors. At 9 ½
months, in her first show as a Special, won an All-Breed Best In Show, the youngest Boxer in
the history of the Breed to do so. This was the first of several BIS wins, as well as multiple BISS
wins, and a RBIS. She finished her GCH at under 11 months of age.
When Millee was 15 months old, she & Terri were invited to the 2011 AKC Eukanuba Classic
Show in Orlando, where she received an Award of Excellence & Best Bred-By-Exhibitor Boxer.
She went on to win the BBX Working Group. She, along with two other Breho-bred Boxers,
Mickee & Katee, had already won the Best in Eukanuba Breeders' Stakes in San Antonio,
progressing from there to the finals in Orlando where she won the Breeders' Stakes Working
Group & was also the Eukanuba North American Breeders' Stakes Champion for 2011. She was
a joy to watch!
Millee & Terri had many Breed & Group wins & placements along the way to her Platinum
Grand Championship which she earned almost on her 4th Birthday! She was only the 3rd Boxer
at that time to achieve the Platinum Level. She received a certificate at ABC 2017 for being the
youngest Boxer to receive her GCH.
Millee was a Top Twenty Boxer in 2012, 2013 & 2014. She thrilled us by winning the Top
Twenty her first year to compete! She produced 4 beautiful puppies in December of 2014 that
all finished their Championships before 2 years old to make her a DOM. Millee has earned her
CGC, CD, a Rally Novice title, a RatO title in Barn hunt, her TrickDog Intermediate Title and
her Farm Dog Certification! She is happy to do almost anything for a treat or a new toy!
We are thankful to be back for another Exhibition run around this beautiful Top Twenty ring!
Thank you for allowing us to share the night with the Best of the Best! Terri & Millee have made
dreams come true in so many ways! Our sweet Millee has always been a Shared Treasure!!!!!
Best of luck to the contenders this year!

                                    “Suri”
2014 American Boxer Top Twenty Winner
Suri, won not only the 2014 ABC Top Twenty but she went on to win the
American Boxer Club National and was the #1 Boxer in 2014. What can one say
about this beautiful girl? She is the epitome of feminine perfection in a Boxer! We
are thrilled with her accomplishments and the wins that were bestowed upon her.

Throughout Suri’s show career she has brought home 12 Best In Shows, 4 Reserve
Best In Shows, 32 Specialties, 49 Group 1's and a Group 4 at Westminster Kennel
Club. She has been appreciated and awarded Specialty Bests by All of the Breeder
judges that she was exhibited too. And for that we are greatly appreciative, as it
reconfirms the pedigree she descends from the promise we saw in her as a puppy.

Her lineage comes from generations of National Specialty winners on both sides
of her pedigree from three time ABC Ch. Wagner Wilverday “Famous Amos,”
three time ABC winner Ch. Hi-Tech’s Johnny J of Boxerton ,Ch. Hi-Techs
Arbitrage, Ch. Berenas Gemini Spashdown, Ch. Heldenbrand’s Jet Breaker
and Ch. Kreyons Firebrand. That’s 11 ABC National Winners in one pedigree!
She comes downline from 6 generations of Sire of Merits. From Ch. Fiero’s
Tally Ho Tailo—to Ch. Hi-Tech’s Artibrage “Biff” to Ch. Hi-Tech’s Aristocrat
“Rex”--to Ch. Hi-Tech’s Johnny J of Boxerton – to Ch Raklyn’s Stealing the
Show “Stealer” – to Ch Triple Crown’s Prince of Thieves-- down to her sire
Ch. Sharledar’s Simply Decadent “Frank.”She also is one of the few Boxers left
that descends from the GREAT Ch Kreyons Firebrand who was recognized and
awarded at the 2014 ABC Awards Banquet for her contributions to the Boxer
breed dating back to 1968. For sure she is deemed Royal in more ways than one.

To everyone that loves and appreciates our SURI BUG a heartfelt Thank You!

Judging Procedure for the Top Twenty

1. When the judges first see each dog, they must score
it according to an Average Placement Scale of 1 – 10
before it is judged. In other words, the judge must look
at the dog on the whole and score it on that scale, with a
score of 10 meaning that, as a first impression, the dog
appears to be in perfect harmony with the judge’s picture
of the “ideal” Boxer. In the event of a tie, this score shall
be used as a determining factor to break the tie.
2. Then, the dogs are scored individually by each of the
three judges, using the Top Twenty Boxer Point Schedule
which is derived from the Standard. When a judge
examines an individual dog and compares it mentally
to their own picture of the “ideal,” that judge is going
through an evaluation process. The Top Twenty Boxer
Point Schedule adds the assignment of numerical values
to this evaluation and it demands that the judge indicate
wherein penalties are assessed for less than the ideal.
Since the scores are posted, each judge goes on record,
part by part, when they score the dog.
This “hands-on” scoring is far more time consuming than
the comparison judging that we are used to. After all, these
are our Top Twenty Boxers and they are all competing for
the top spot! This type of judging exacts strong discipline
on the part of each judge. A fault that seems to stand out
to one particular judge might not to the others, thereby,
reducing the impact of the idiosyncrasies of individual
judges. While in the ring, judges may only confer with
   the stewards regarding judging procedures.
3. The winner will be determined on the basis of the
averaged total scores of each dog and the signed score
sheets will be publicly posted following the Show.

Selection of the Boxer Top 20 Judges
The breeder judge and the handler judge for the Top 20 are selected by
a nominating committee that is newly appointed every year. Nomination
guidelines are followed to assure impartiality of the judges. The AKC Multi-
breed judge is selected by the Top 20 organizing committee years in advance,
well before the eligible Top 20 dogs are known.
Once the eligible Top 20 dogs are determined, the chairman of the
nominating committee selects up to 7 committee members who will nominate
breeder judges and handler judges. These committee members must not
have any connections with the Top 20 dogs eligible for that year, with their
owners, with the breeders, or with the sires. The committee members are
chosen from different geographic regions of the country and serve on the
committee without knowledge of who the other committee members might
be. This avoids any possible collusion in the nominating and voting process.
Committee members are asked to submit 3 nominees for a breeder judge
and 3 nominees for a handler judge who may come from their region or
elsewhere. Individuals who have judged the Top 20 within the last 5 years are
excluded as nominees. The nominees must not have any personal or business
relationship with the owner, breeder, owner of the sire, or handler of any of the
Top 20 eligible dogs and cannot be contacted to ask about a willingness to
judge if selected. This becomes a difficult task given the many possible ways
that individuals in the Boxer community may be connected via joint ownership
of dogs, purchase of puppies, dog breeding, or other personal or business
relationships. Also, nominees who are handlers or breeders must not have
judged Boxers in the last 6 months.
The committee members send their confidential nominations to the
chairperson of the Top 20 who then prepares and sends a first ballot to the
members of the nominating committee. The members are then asked to
identify any further conflicts of interest between the prospective judges and
the Top 20 dogs, owners, breeders, sires, or handlers. If any nominees are
removed from the ballot, the individual who made the nomination has the
option to submit an alternative nominee.
Once a final ballot is prepared, each member of the nominating committee
submits 5 votes for a breeder judge and 5 votes for a handler judge. The
confidential votes are sent directly to the chairperson of the Top 20 who tallies
votes to select a breeder judge and handler judge. With 5 votes to submit,
each member of the nominating committee is forced to consider candidates
beyond his/her personal 3 nominees. The selected judges are then notified
and asked if any unknown situations exist with the Top 20 dogs that could cause
their impartiality to be questioned. The final selections are kept confidential
from the entire nominating committee until the night of the Top 20 event.
The chairman and members of the nominating committee look forward to
the announcement of the selected judges and are honored to have these
individuals judge our Top 20.
Barry Wyerman, Chairman
Top 20 Nominating Committee

Jon Cole, of Nashville, Tennessee, comes from a dog-show family and grew
up among a wide variety of breeds. He eventually developed a primary
interest in Bull Terriers and Bedlington Terriers, breeds in which he had
great success in both "producing good-quality puppies and achieving
many wins at shows in the U.S. and Canada." At various times Cole has
also owned or shown West Highland White Terriers, Shih Tzu, Smooth Fox
Terriers, Greyhounds, and Schipperkes

He is approved to judge All Breeds since 2007. Always in demand, Cole has
judged on six continents since his career began in 1971. He has officiated
at America’s most prestigious venues, including multiple Westminster
assignments, and multiple AKC Shows.

Cole has served in high office for several Specialty and all-breed clubs,
including president and founding member of the Kopper Valley Shi Tsu
Club; president of the Group IV Terrier Association of Utah for fourteen
years; and president, treasurer, board member, show chairman, and
committee member, at various times, for the Dog Fanciers of Oregon, the
Intermountain Kennel Club, and the Bonneville Basin Kennel Association,
and Nashville Kennel Club. He has been involved with State dog Legislation
in various capacities for the past several years.

He has written articles, conducted breed seminars, and has appeared on
television to discuss breeds and dog-related issues. In whatever time he
can find away from the show ring, Cole enjoys golfing, restoring houses,
walking, and reading.

Stephanie has been on the ABC Board of Directors for multiple terms, and
is the author of the Dog Writers Association of America award winning

breed for over 20 years. She is the author of numerous magazine articles
focusing on the Boxer.

In 2009, David and Stephanie were winners of the Lifetime Achievement
Award from the ABC and were recently honored with the Hall of Fame
award. Stephanie has judged numerous Boxer specialties in the USA and
around the world, including Australia, Mexico, Canada, New Zealand,
Japan, the Philippines, the UK, and Brazil. It was her great thrill to judge the
ABC National Specialty in 1995 and 2004.

Most of all, more than all the show wins, judging, and breeding, it is the
remarkable temperament and kind intelligence of the Boxer that has meant
the most to Stephanie through the years.

                              Mel Holloman

I attended my first dog show in the middle 1970's.

While watching the handlers of that era the idea of becoming dog a handler
consumed me. From that point on I was submerged in everything dogs.

During the early 1980's I apprenticed with the late Charles E. Steele.

Since the mid 1980's I have been handling professionally. In my role as a
professional handler I have exhibited Group, Specialty winners, and all
Breed Best in Show winners.

Boxers of note are Champions Seaside's EWO Surf Breaker, Brookwood's
Dream Dancer and Kaja's Little Rascal.

The majority of the fancy will readily recognize me with a Boxer on the lead.

Being asked to judge your Top Twenty has provided me with immense
pleasure.

                             “Coco”
Coco is a fine example of classic Boxer breed type. Her square build,
beautiful blend of substance and style and charismatic, outgoing
temperament is a reminder of what this breed is all about.

We are very proud of our young girl’s accomplishments in 2016. Coco
was shown selectively last year winning several specialties, Group 1s
and an All-Breed Best in Show.

Coco was ranked #9 Boxer in 2016 both systems. Our deepest
appreciation goes to all judges who rewarded her qualities in tough
competition making all this possible.

We would also like to extend our gratitude to Coco’s many fans whose
support and kind words made this journey so thrilling.

Last but not least, our heartfelt thank you to breeder Sylvia Holman
who trusted us with this precious Boxer.

“Team Coco” congratulates the breeders, owners and handlers of all
these fine Top 20 contenders this year. We look forward to a great
week celebrating our beloved breed.

This girl was born to show! On her first trip to ABC in 2016 as a 6-9
puppy, she went RWB handled by Michael Shepherd and with the
help of Tuni Claflin won her first major.

Back home in Florida she quickly completed her Championship at
the Tampa Bay Boxer Club in June of 2016 at 7 ½ months old. Our
sincere thanks and appreciation to Linda Whitney for training Heller as
a puppy and quickly finishing her as well as her Grand Championship.

Ann Campbell made the decision to send Heller home from the 2017
ABC with Debbie Struff to start her Specials Career in the Northeast.
We couldn’t be happier with this team of Heller, Debbie & Karen –
The Girls have been quite successful and are having fun!

In only 6 months Heller ended 2017 as the Number 14 Boxer and
Number 15 All Breed.

The Girls are Off and Running for 2018 already winning Breeds
and Working Group Placements, as well as Select Bitch at the 2018
Westminster Kennel Club?

                             “Cooper”
Finished Championship with 4 majors from the puppy class including
2 Boxer Specialties in 2016. He placed in the 9 to 12-month class in
both the ABC futurity and the regular class in 2016.

Cooper started his specials career in January 2017. He finished the
year as #7 in Breed and #13 in All Breed standings with numerous
Group placements.

Cooper has been a breeder’s dream come true. He steps into the show
ring and says here I am as he moves effortlessly around the ring. He
is a true representative of the breed a square medium sized dog with
a strong classic head, straight topline, good angulation and ground
covering movement.

A sincere thank you to friends and mentors along the way who have
been very supportive of this special boy’s career. We are proud of
his accomplishments and thank all the judges that have recognized
Cooper’s attributes.

A heartfelt thank you to Tessie and Nancy Savage. Tessie and Cooper
have developed that special relationship that is a joy to watch. We are
grateful for her expert handling skills and to Nancy for always being
there to support and to encourage their success.

We are honored to present Cooper as a Top 20 contender. We
congratulate all the top 20 contenders and wish everyone a fun filled
evening. Good luck to all competing and enjoying the ABC this week.

I knew when I first laid eyes on this boy he was going to make me
proud.

Where do I start, 2017 was a great year for Devo and his Diva. He
stepped foot in the ring at 10 months old and four weekends later
finished his championship, which includes taking Best of Breed over
specials from the puppy class. Shortly after finishing his championship
he hit the Best of Breed ring as a special and completed his Grand
Championship in two weekends. Devo’s accomplishments include:

                         #8 Boxer in 2017
#10 Boxer in All Breed points in 2017

We are thrilled to have Devo as a Top Twenty Contender and wish

Thank You to all the judges who have recognized Devo throughout

                             “Kaden”
We are honored to have been included in the American Boxer Club
Top 20 competition for the second consecutive year. Kaden has been
carefully shown on a limited basis over the past 2 years which makes
this recognition even more special.

Kaden began his show career in Canada in 2013 where he earned his
GCH at the age of 9 months and showed exclusively there until he was
2. Since beginning his show career in America, he has been exclusively
and expertly handled by Ms. Amy Bieri. Amy has loved and cared for
him as one of her own and they have a bond that will last a lifetime.

Kaden has laid to rest the theory that a plain Boxer cannot compete.
We are grateful to the many judges, especially breeder judges, who
have recognized Kaden’s qualities.

This year’s ABC competition will mark the conclusion of Kaden’s
competitive career. We are grateful for the support of all who have
followed and encouraged Kaden and his team over the past 2 ½ years.

Kaden is fully health tested and will enjoy sitting back with his pack
and watching his “kids” create a legacy for himself, his owners and his
breeders. He is now available to select bitches for breeding.

Thank you Amy, Lee & Mary Jane Nowak (Shadigee Boxers) for the
privilege of having Kaden in my pack and for all you have done for us.

I never would have imagined as I sat in the whelping box with my first
litter that we would have the honor of showing one of those puppies
in the Top Twenty. What a ride you have taken me on Farmer!

From winning an Award of Merit at the Central Indiana Boxer Club
Specialty in 2017 to making the Top Twenty in just half a year of
showing, this boy always makes me proud!

I owe so much of Farmer's success to my mentor, handler and friend,
Steve Stewart. Farmer and Steve share a bond that started when
Farmer was just 3 days old. I remember Steve holding him in his
hands and saying how much he really loved that little puppy. It takes
a village to make this dream a reality.

Thank you to everyone who has supported Team Farmer along the
way including the other half of Julian Farm Boxers, my mom. She
has raised every litter with me and is always the loudest cheerleader!
Farmer wouldn’t be here without some great pedigrees behind him
and I am privileged to have a great foundation to build on.

                                  “Thor”
With great pride, we would like to celebrate Thor's unbelievable
accomplishments. We are honored to be a part of the American Boxer top
Twenty for a second year.
Thor was shown during his career with very little advertising and won solely on
his merits, a difficult feat to accomplish.
He is the youngest Boxer of record to finish his championship in the history
of the breed. During his career, he received a Best of the Best in cluster, 17
career Best in Shows, multiple Reserve Best in Shows, many Group wins and
placements. For a period in 2017 he was number 1 Boxer. Some of Thor’s
highlighted wins this year include:
                     Multiple BEST IN SHOW’s
WINNER Westminster Best of Breed 2018
WINNER National Dog Show Best of Breed 2018
Winner ABC People’s Choice award 2017
You only need one word to describe Thor. He IS...a BOXER
Almost every judge who has rewarded him has consistently remarked the same
thing while going over him---"This IS a BOXER!" We have stood proudly in
his shadow, delighted to be part of his team.
Thor has turned the heads of some of the most respected and famous people
in the breed throughout the world. He has touched all of our lives in one way
or another.
A special thank you to Thor's trainers and handlers, Hernan and Allison
Pacheco for their outstanding devotion and love for this special dog. Without
you, none of this would have been possible.
We would also like to thank his breeders, BJ Barnhart and Kham Vixayo for
allowing us to be a part of this beautiful ride and for embracing us as part of
their family.
Win or lose, every moment Thor is in the ring is a cherished memory in all of
our hearts. It has been one heck of a ride and we have been blessed to be a part
of it Thank you Thor....We love you!

GCHS WIT’S END TE AMO

                               “Neville”
Wit’s End Boxers is proud to present Neville at the Top Twenty this year! He
is the FIRST natural-eared Boxer to compete at the Top Twenty and is the
second Top Twenty contender for Wit’s End.
This amazing honor could never have occurred without the awesome support,
confidence and love shown to him by Stan and Jane Flowers. From the first
time they saw him, they could not have been more excited in their outstanding
assessment of his quality and conformation to the Boxer standard. Of course
this year’s trip on the campaign trail would never have been possible without
the added support of our co-owners, Dave and Audrey Kamphenkel. Thank
you Audrey and Dave from the bottom of my heart. I count myself blessed
indeed to have this new friendship in these two delightful people.
Oh my goodness, what a journey it’s been:
                            Multiple Breed wins
                           Best in Specialty Show
                           Multiple Group Wins
AND A BEST IN SHOW (pinch me)
Neville was a gift to my son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Jessica, and I
thank them from the bottom of my heart for permitting me to show him. He
is now at home with them, loving every moment of being with his very own
boy, Mighty Max!
A heart-felt thank you to all the judges for the wins, the high praise and the
outstanding compliments.
With his first pups on the ground, we look forward to seeing what an impact
this young dog can make on the breed. The results of his health testing may
be found on my website, www.WitsendBoxers.com
Congratulations to all the Top Twenty Contenders. Team Neville is delighted
to be here and wish everyone a NIGHT TO REMEMBER!

GCHG RUMMER RUN'S SLAM DUNK

                         “Slam Dunk”
We are grateful to Julie Wilmore and Claudia Parson for allowing us to
own this beautifully bred Boxer. His pedigree reflects many Rummer
Run dogs.

Slam Dunk is not only beautiful, but he has a wonderful disposition.
He is easy to live with, and loves to play with puppies.

He finished his Championship in 3 weekends. He then started his
Special career in January of 2017 at the age of two, winning an All-
Breed Best in Show his first weekend out as a Special!

He has won Multiple Best in Specialty Shows, Multiple Groups and
finished his first year as the #4 Boxer in the US Breed and All Breed
System.

We are proud of this boy and wish him and all of the competitors a
great Top Twenty experience.
