Matthew Collins gained an appreciation for the complexity within
construction while working in the plumbing industry. ‘I wanted
to learn the fundamentals and entirety of the construction
process from conception to completion of a project,’ he says.
‘I decided to push myself to the next level and commence
a degree in construction management at Griffith.’ During
his degree, Matthew has found the group work beneficial
in preparing him for industry. ‘I’ve worked in team-based
environments just like I would in real construction projects,’
he says. ‘I’ve found the lecturers and tutorial staff to be
well-rounded industry professionals who are extremely
knowledgeable in their areas of expertise.’ Upon completion
of his degree, Matthew plans to work as a Project Manager.

Borcsa Vass’s skills as a barrister positioned her among the
finalists in the Emergent Woman Lawyer of the Year category
at the 2018 Women Lawyer of the Year Awards. The award
recognises women who have been admitted to legal practice
for five years or less. ‘Griffith has always been progressive and
forward-thinking, and my career has certainly been enriched
as a result of studying at Griffith,’ she says. Admitted to the Bar
in 2015, Borcsa has established a broad commercial law practice
in Brisbane representing an array of clients and prosecuting
various regulatory offences. Borcsa regularly appears in courts
and tribunals and has appeared unled in the Queensland Court
of Appeal and in numerous trials and appeals.
