2020 Census Job Fair

Bureau is current ly hiring

2020 Census in our area . By
working for t he Census Bureau, you
can help t hem reach t heir goal for
t he 2020 Census t o ensure
everyone is count ed. Census
count s have a huge impact on our
communit y. The 2020 Census dat a
will be used t o det ermine how more t han $675 billion from more t han 100
government programs are dist ribut ed t o st at es and localit ies, including
communit ies like ours. The dat a influence choices made about which roads
are fixed, where schools are built and businesses opened, what medical
services are offered, and more.

Making Theater Happen: Becoming an
Actor Part 2, Week 1
Join us at St orrs Library on T uesdays from 12:30 t o 2:00 as former t heat er
direct or and professor Fred Sokol guides part icipant s t o develop t heir
act ing skills. During t his eight -week program, you'll begin wit h t he basics,
progressing t hrough improv, script ed works, and maybe even writ e your
own scenes t o perform! Part icipant s will cont ribut e t o t he progression of t he
program depending on t heir int erest s and comfort level. This series will focus
on beginner skills, but act ors of all levels are welcome t o at t end! Please

( NHLA ).

The 2020 President ial Elect ion will
have far-reaching consequences for
t oday's most pressing social and
polit ical issues -- from jobs and careers t o int ernet access, net neut ralit y t o
banned books, from vet erans' services t o public educat ion, ideological
freedom t o fake news, from civic engagement t o healt h and social
services. The 2020 President ial candidat es will discuss t hese issues and more,
from a wide array of polit ical perspect ives.

Y ou may even have t he opport unit y t o ask a candidat e about t heir goals
and plans for issues affect ing libraries and library pat rons across t he count ry.
Each candidat e will have 30 minut es t o present t heir views, and t ake
quest ions from t he audience and social media. Come see first hand how t he

Code Club at St orrs Library beginning

t o 4:30 ! In t his 15-week program, you
will be able t o learn from fun and
simple online coding t ut orials
(ranging from beginner t o advanced
and covering Scrat ch, Pyt hon, JavaScript , and Thunkable), build
communit y t hrough int eract ive act ivit ies, and learn about inspiring women
in t ech. Throughout t he course of t he club, you and your fellow club
members will work as a t eam t o design and build a culminat ing project
t hat addresses a real world problem t hat you care about !

Girls Who Code is a nonprofit organizat ion working t o close t he gender gap
in t echnology, whose aim is t o serve underrepresent ed st udent s and
