SNAPSHOTS DESTINATION EXPLANATION
The Algarve in Portugal has long been popular with sun-seeking tourists from the
United Kingdom, and after you spend a few days down there, you will see why it is as
popular as ever.
The suave and debonair reaches of Vilamoura contrast well with the open-all-night
party town of Albufeira to offer both ends of the tourist scale plenty to go at.
Vilamoura basks on the glorious marina amidst the towns two beaches – the red cliffed
Falesia beach and the sandy shores of Marina beach. Both of which are crammed with
year-round sun-bathers, volleyball matches and guilty looking morning joggers shaking
of the previous nights excess.
HAPPY TOURIST!
Surrounding the harbour, are countless open-fronted bars, pubs and restaurants. One
of the central cafe’s is ‘Figo’s Bar’ or ‘Sete Cafe’ to give it its proper name. Part owned
by the Portuguese Footballer Luis Figo, the bar pay’s homage to all things Football with
memorabilia from the who’s who of the beautiful game. Other bars to look out for in-
clude The Irish Cabin, an Irish Bar to rival any – good prices and excellent live music
every night until around 3am; Akvavit is a Nautical bar with Swedish origins, on the ex-
pensive side, but well worth looking at during the day time for their lunchtime specials.
Most bars stay open until the early morning hours, but if it is a nightclub your after,
then head out to the Vilamoura Casino, the home of the Black-Jacks nightclub. One of
the few places to be filled with countless local’s dancing the night away to some of the
county’s top DJ’s amidst light shows and special effects.
BULLFIGHTING IN ALBUFEIRA
For more in-expensive food and drink, head away from the harbour, and you’ll find
some chirpy little sports bars that will look after you for as long as you wish.
The town is a real playground, you could fill your days and nights with Deep Sea Shark
Fishing, Banana-boats, sunset cruises, snorkelling, mountain biking, highly recom-
mended water park trips and even foam parties. If you want to see a bit of Portuguese
culture, then we recommend taking a trip to the Bull Ring in Albufeira for some Bull
Fighting - not for the faint of heart. All are available to book through ourselves or at the
bustling market corner on the Marina.
MINI GOLF - EXCEPTIONAL!
Cricket in the Algarve is an ex-pat based game. A handful of clubs base their annual
fixture lists on playing touring teams from the UK. The game’s are to be taken in a re-
laxed and friendly fashion. Look forward to the hospitable and friendly welcome!
