Association and cultural activities: n° volunteers No data available 3.7. Associations and cultural activities: particular local events (e.g. festivals) General comments about available services in the area i.e. “for what you have to go out, what is on site” (education, health services, hospitals, emergency, ..) Engiadina Bassa Val Müstair Considering the small size of the municipality, Val Müstair has a good infrastructure. There’s a small hospital suitable for first aid and not serious patients. The assistance of the elderly offers various possibilities (home assistance or elderly home). The major failings are in education. Val Müstair has a small vocational school which offers a small number of training opportunities. For studying or further education (Highschool, University, Higher vocational
schools etc.) young people are forced to commute and often to leave Val Müstair. The region of Engiadina Bassa and Val Müstair offers more opportunities, but since it’s necessary to do the Pass dal Fourn the commuting time is over one hour. In case of serious injuries and difficult medical procedures it’s also necessary to leave the area. Valposchiavo Since Valposchiavo is bigger than Val Müstair, the region offers more opportunities. The situation is however similar to Val Müstair. The hospital offers first aid and simple operations and elderly people, people with addiction problems and people with disabilities find assistance in the region, but in case of more serious problem the inhabitants of the region have to leave the area. Valposchiavo has a vocational school, that’s bigger than the one in Val Müstair, but for studying or further education people have to leave the area. Bregaglia The municipality of Bregaglia has a similar infrastructure as Val Müstair, with a small hospital suitable for first aid and elderly home with the possibility of home assistance. For more serious procedures is however necessary to leave the municipality (the region of Maloja offers more infrastructure but it’s necessary to travel more than 30 minutes). The education opportunities are very small, since it’s just possible to attend compulsory school in Bregaglia.
