Industry requirements
The Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA), under Civil Aviation Safety Regulation (CASR), regulates the Part 61 Flight Crew
Licensing standards, which outlines requirements for certification as a commercial pilot.

These requirements are integrated in the Diploma of Aviation qualification, with your final diploma competency determination
occurring simultaneously with the granting of your Commercial Pilot Licence.

In accordance with the CASA CASR Part 61 Flight Crew Licensing requirements, your practical training will take place in single
engine aeroplanes. Then, once you have achieved the licence, the privileges include the authorisation to act as pilot in
command of certain operations, and as co-pilot of any operation.

To maintain your licence, you will then need to undertake a flight review with an approved officer, every 24 months.
