IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Registration:
When registering your child for a summer camp, please register using the
child’s name (not the parent’s name). Register in-person at 909 Decker
Dr., Baytown, call 281.425.6311 or visit www.lee.edu/kids.

Cancellations:
Lee College reserves the right to cancel any program due to low

If a program is full, you may request to add your child’s name to the
waiting list. Registration fees do no apply for waiting line spots. If a

Withdrawals:
No refunds will be provided/issued after a class begins. To receive a 100%
refund, parents must call 281.425.6311 and request to drop their child
from the program at least THREE BUSINESS DAYS prior to the start date of                      Sports                                                               6

depending on payment type.

Lee College reserves the right to expel any child in violation of
unacceptable behavior from any Kids at College Summer Camp Program.
This includes, but is not limited to: possession of weapons, sexual
harassment, sexual assault, throwing of articles in an aggressive manner,
attempts to incite violence, abusive or disrespectful language, obscene
gestures, racial or ethnic remarks, destruction for campus property and the
property of others, possession or under the influence of drugs and/or
alcohol, misuse of emergency exits, not abiding by rules and regulations
or refusal to leave when directed to do so by the staff. Expulsion results in
a forfeit of registration fees and no refund will be issued.

Sports
Basketball Camp
This camp is designed to improve your skills through individual instruction
and game competition. Emphasis will be placed on shooting techniques,
fundamentals, and team-building. Girls and boys will learn how to play the
game under the instruction of the Lee College basketball coach and players.
Course fee includes camp basketball, camp photo, and t-shirt. Camps are
fundraising activities for the Lee College basketball team. Discount is available

Darkhorse Tennis Camp
This camp will introduce and work with the players on the tennis techniques
used to appropriately and safely play the game of tennis. Coaches will also
cover such aspects as proper stretching and fitness movements for tennis
players. All groups will start with stretching and warming up, followed by
feeding drills, rally based drills, and match play according to their ability.
Apparel: Close toed shoes, light-colored athletic shorts and t-shirt, hat/visor encouraged, no jewelry. Students are
encouraged to bring sunscreen. Water will be provided. Students who would like a sports drink must bring it, with
their name in a clear location.

Volleyball Camp
This camp is designed to develop and improve your child's skills in the sport
of volleyball. In this action-packed camp, players will gain experience on the
volleyball court by emphasizing game-like exposure and high repetitions. The
campers will also focus on speeding up the basics of the game such as
passing serve-receive, defense, transitioning, setting, hitting, blocking and
much more. Registration fee includes a camp t-shirt. Camps are fundraising
activities for the Lee College volleyball team. Cost: $95

Danielle Essix recently finished her first season as Head Volleyball Coach for the Lady Rebels after serving as the
Assistant Coach for Blinn College for two seasons (2016-2017). She assisted Blinn College to a 24-9 finish while
placing first in the conference and fourth in the region. During her first season at Lee College, the Lady Rebels
finished 10-13 overall and 4-4 in conference play, clinching a spot in the post season, Region IX Conference
Volleyball Tournament. The Lady Rebels showed much success with six players earning All-Conference Honors.
“I'm extremely excited for the opportunity to be the Head Volleyball Coach at Lee College. Volleyball is my passion
and I can't wait to see what the future holds for this program."

Basic Reading Skills for Kids
This study skills class is designed to help students improve their attitudes and
thinking skills. The aim of this course is to help students improve their
textbook study strategies and reading comprehension. Students will learn
how to improve vocabulary and basic reading techniques. Students will also
learn to identify important points in classroom lectures along with note
taking strategies for increasing the quality of their notes.

Biz Kid$ is a national financial education initiative based on an Emmy Award-
winning public television series about kids, money, and business. The series,
hosted by Beacon Federal Credit Union, includes 65 episodes and reaches
over one million viewers per episode. Using a clever blend of entertainment
and education, Biz Kid$ teaches kids how to make and manage money by
introducing concepts of financial literacy and entrepreneurship.

Empower with Purpose Life Skills Camp
The Life Skills program is a research-validated substance abuse prevention
program proven to reduce the risks of alcohol, tobacco, drug abuse, and
violence by targeting the major social and psychological factors that promote
the initiation of substance use and other risky behaviors. This comprehensive
and exciting program provides adolescents and young teens with the
confidence and skills necessary to successfully handle challenging situations.
These program components build self-esteem, self-management skills, social

Bricks and Sticks Stop Animation
Take your stop motion movies to the next level. First, create a story with
Stikbots, Legos, action figures or all three! Then watch your story come to life
using special stop motion software that allows you to add special effects and
go beyond the typical software on a mobile device. Students will need to
bring in figures, Stickbots, Legos from home, but all other equipment will be
provided. Student-created films will be available on a password protected
website to share with friends and family.

Fun for Families
Grandparent and Grandchild Bus Trip
There's nothing quite like memories between a grandparent and their
grandchildren. Join us to create even more memories as we invite
grandchildren on the popular Senior Adult and Travel Program Bus Trip! This
summer, we will head to Kemah to tour the Butler Longhorn Museum,
dedicated in 2009 to tell the story of Houstonian Milby Butler's role in saving
the iconic Texas Longhorn from extinction. After the museum, enjoy quality
time at Kemah Boardwalk! Cost includes transportation from Lee College to
both destinations, as well as admission into the museum and a ride on the
C. P. Huntington Train on the boardwalk. Cost does not include a meal. Cost is
per person. Bus will depart from 909 Decker parking lot at 9:15 a.m.
