We are stronger together!
“As a peer support officer, I find
it important to stress that you do
not have to struggle alone. There is
always someone out there to listen
and help you through tough times.
Find that person, and be that person
for someone else. We are stronger
together!”

Foster growth and brilliance
“In St. Louis Park Public Schools we
believe that everyone has the capacity
and responsibility to foster the growth
and brilliance of others. Sometimes
our students and staff have lived
experiences that challenge their social
emotional well-being and cause them
to question their brilliance. It is our
collective responsibility to ensure that
members of our school community
always have access to the support
and resources they need to live their
brilliance.”

“Talent development class serves all
students K – 5 at all four elementary
schools. As a talent development
teacher, I have the opportunity to
see kids at their creative best. During
talent development class, we focus
on all learning subjects. One that I
would like to highlight is neuroscience.
Students understand how different
parts of the brain work together.
They are able to label and identify
the function of the brain. My favorite
quote from a student is: “Mrs. Foudray,
my prefrontal cortex is learning so
much and it is making my amygdala
feel very happy.” Teaching and
learning has come a long way from
just reading and math. It’s also about
your mind, body and soul.”

Ground into your values
“As you wake up in the morning,
consider what the day holds for
you. Call to mind a value that you
can embrace throughout the day
that will help serve your community.
Embrace the value everywhere you
go. Embrace the value with children,
adults, family and friends. Embrace
the value when it’s easy. Embrace
the value when it’s hard. Notice when
it’s hard to embrace the value. Offer
yourself grace and reflect on the
personal work you can do around this
value. As we deepen our own personal
work around values, it becomes easier
to live with intentionality and notice
the values we have in common with
other people.”

Enjoy the powers of nature
“Nature has such a fantastic power to
heal, relax and rejuvenate. The beauty
is, you don’t have to venture far to
discover these benefits. The ability to
simply be present outdoors, even for
just a few minutes, can create a space
to feel calm and restored.”

Live your brilliance
“The brilliance of any person is driven
by numerous factors, many related to
social-emotional wellness. Whether
young or old, we are always learners
who can deepen skills related to
empathy, supportive relationships,
healthy identities and the ability to
make responsible, caring decisions.
As best as you are able, approach
situations as a chance to be a learner.
For example, step away from the
hustle of the day and pay mindful
attention to your surroundings,
harness the power of your breath
to slow down, set aside time to
recognize what you are grateful for,
and acknowledge and accept the
feelings that are showing up in a
given moment.”

Support yourself when
supporting others
“Workers in support roles (public

when focusing on others. Taking care

so you can continue to support those
who depend on you. Practice self-care

Take care of your body with a healthy

Care for emotional wellness
“For any athlete, but specifically for
high school student athletes who
are often juggling busy schedules
and experiencing change in their

and enough sleep are paramount
to growth and success in athletics,
but none of these factors are as
important as an individual’s mental

fortunate through our partnership
