the student community as the number of applications received were more than seven-thousand in 2018

Higher educational sector of the State. The purpose of introducing these courses is that students shall be
able to choose their specialized discipline of study at an early stage and become professionals in the
chosen subject.

In the first academic council meeting of the University conducted on December 12, 2018, it
has been decided to establish two centers of excellence on “Quantum computing and Artificial
Intelligence” and “Innovation and entrepreneurship development”. The setting-up these state-of-the-art
centers shall provide a major boost to the research and innovation sector of the State. During the meeting,
it has also decided to launch new innovative courses like 3-year Integrated B.Ed+M.Ed course from this
academic session.
In the words of Albert Einstein “Education is not the learning of facts, but the training of
minds to think”. At CUS, we have introduced a multi-dimensional assessment system that includes
seminars, group discussions, field survey etc. CUS has also adopted a policy of having complete
transparency in the evaluation process and the students have access to the Xerox/Digital copies of the
transcripts.
CUS has been created by pooling the resources of five existing colleges of Amar Singh
College, Sri Pratap College, Govt. College for Women, M. A. Road, Govt. Degree College, Bemina and
Govt. College of Education. These constituent colleges have glorious past and have immensely
contributed in the intellectual growth of the people of the State. The vision of CUS is to lead these
colleges to the advanced schools of learning.
I welcome all the aspiring students to our University.
