With this edition of Dollars and Sense: a guide to employer
training credits, incentives and supports, The Algoma
Workforce Investment Corporation (AWIC) has gathered
information from a variety of government and agency
sources including websites and current publications.
AWIC is committed to providing relevant workforce
information to employers in order to help individuals get
the training, skills and experience they need to achieve
their career goals. This guide is meant to show that
there are many tax credits, wage incentives, programs
and resources available to help employers make their
workplaces more efficient, productive and cost effective.
In addition to the incentives and supports listed
in this guide, Employment Ontario Employment
Service Provid¬ers are available to assist employers
through every step of the hiring process by listing job
opportunities, suggesting qualified candidates and
by providing incentive/wage subsidy information. The
EO Employment Service Provid¬ers are a valuable
resource and a list of the local services, as well as other
employment services are listed in this guide.
Taking advantage of these programs will allow
employers to defray costs associated with training
