Biography
Having studied Bachelor of Science and Nursing (Honours) General Nursing at the Dublin City University, in conjunction with Connolly
hospital, Regina worked in Connolly hospital as a Register General Nurse after receiving her qualification. Moving to Australia, she worked
within acute hospitals in both Melbourne and Darwin. On return to Dublin, Regina did agency work in a number of acute hospitals.
Subsequently she was offered a position as a community nursing at North West Dublin. This led her to being selected for sponsorship and
completing her Higher Diploma in Public Health Nursing at the University College Dublin. As a Public Health Nurse Regina’s caseload was
based in inner city Dublin; this caseload involved working within child protection and welfare, advocating for children within the court system
and supporting individuals/families in the homelessness crisis. Following an assessment of population need, Regina supported the establishment
of the Incredible Years Programme in inner city Dublin. In 2017, Regina completed a first class Masters in Nursing Education at the University
College Dublin.
Regina was appointed Nurse Tutor within CLD in St James’s hospital and her role involves co-ordinating education for community staff in
South Dublin, Kildare and Wicklow including public health nurses, community nurses, community hospitals and community nursing homes.

Biography
As a Regional Education co-ordinator for CHO Area 6: Wicklow, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin South; Sarah supports education for nurses working within the
community in Older Persons services and Public Health.
Sarah has a wealth of clinical and educational experience to bring to this role. She has a strong clinical background and competed further training in Critical
Care Nursing and Paediatrics as well as MSc Nursing (Clinical Health Science Education) from the University of Dublin. She is a BLS instructor. Sarah
trained in London and spent 12 years working in the UK before returning to Ireland. She recently spent 4 years working as an education co-ordinator
providing and supporting interdisciplinary learning in the Middle East and has supported undergraduate nursing students clinically, and post graduate nurses.

Biography
Maria Carr’s primary role as a Regional Education co-ordinator is to support the provision and evaluation of education/ training to nurses and health care
assistants working in mental health and intellectual disability services. As well as other groups of nurses working in the community.
This includes:
● Providing education based on clinical, research and management needs
● Delivering education programmes where and when needed
● Offering educational advice
● Promoting transfer of education to practice
● Encouraging further the utilisation of eLearning
Maria believes that education is the cornerstone, to providing a high standard of evidence based care
Maria has worked as Diabetes Nurse Specialist for over eighteen years supporting those in her care to self-manage their condition. In her daily practice she
acted as a resource, providing education and advice to Healthcare Professionals working in both primary and secondary care.
Maria holds a Master’s in Education and Training Management (eLearning) from Dublin City University.
