                                        including saw, corkscrew and hoofpick. Marking of “Stand” and maker. Length,
                                        4 1/4-inches. Ivory grip panels, with German silver pins, and escutcheon on
                                        one side. Overall length with main blade opened, 7 1/8-inches. Very good to
                                        fine. Light surface pitting. Mellow patina to ivory. Pre-1900. The Thomas
                                        Renshaw firm was established c. 1840.

George Wostenholm, Sheffield, with Faceted Blades and Tools, c. 1851
Primary single edge blade of 3 1/8-inches with spearpoint, elegantly etched
on left side: G. WOSTENHOLM & SON I * XL SHEFFIELD, the ricasso
with stamping, of GEORGE / WOSTENHOLM / CUTLERY. Miscellany of
blades and tools including exquisite hacksaw with blued blade, adjustable
wrench, horseman’s hook and other horse-related tools, and corkscrew.
Thick steel cover to bottom of knife is hoofpick, which opens to reveal
several additional tools, drills, punches and blades. The stag grip panels with
slots for pair of scissors, pricker, tweezers with small spearpoint blade, and
calipers. Several surfaces of the blades and tools exquisitely faceted, and       Lot 2112

that is 5 1/8 inches long. It has the following pieces; a master fancy
worked back spear blade with a long pull, and fully etched “G.
Wostenholm & Son IXL Sheffield”, a fish scaler and hook disgorger, a file
blade, a spey blade, a compass, a triangular leather punch, a buttonhook,
a fleam, a leather sewing blade, a hacksaw with blade, a wine cork
remover, a chisel blade, an awl, two pen blades, a clip blade, a fancy man-
icure blade, and a corkscrew. It has the following pull-out pieces; twee-
zers with a lancet inside, scissors, a fly fisherman’s leader tweezers, and
a pipe cleaner. The grip scales are perfect tortoiseshell. The fancy bol-
sters are sterling silver fully engraved. Even the parts to the pull-out
implements, which are hidden under the handles, are engraved so that it
is difficult to notice these tools. The backs of the blades are fancy file-
worked as are the insides of the springs and the brass liners. This knife     Lot 2128
