HOROWHENUA AGRICULTRURAL PASTORAL AND INDUSTRIAL ASSOCIATION ANNUAL SHOW 2019 - The Showgrounds Levin on
GENERAL CONDITIONS – PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

The Association will not under any circumstances hold itself responsible for any
loss, damage or miss delivery of any exhibit. Notwithstanding the Association
will use its best endeavours to attend to the interest of the exhibitors.

Extra entry forms and all particulars may be had on application to the Secretary.

All Trophies to be returned engraved to the Secretary prior to the Show, at
                      the cost of the exhibitor winner.

                    Entries close Monday 14th January 2019

Stewards will be in attendance.
All exhibits in cooking, preserves, needlework and hand spun wool must be
delivered to the pavilion at the Showgrounds between 10.30-11.30am on Friday
18th January 2019.

Exhibits by post must reach Levin not later than 5pm on Wednesday 16th
January 2019 and will be delivered to the pavilion free of charge.

ALL ENTRY FEES 70cents                    NO LATE ENTRIES.

No more than 3 entries per class, except for cooking section limited to 2
entries per class.
No gate passes issued.
No exhibitor will be allowed to collect their exhibit until approx 5pm on
Sunday 20th January 2019. Cooking, Jams & Handspun from the East
Door and Knitting, Needlework & Juniors from the West Door.

Points to count: When entries are 5 or over: First prize 6, second prize 4, third
prize 2, VHC 1 point. When entries are under 5: First prize 6, second prize 4,
third prize 2. In the case of ties for points prizes, most first to count. Where
there is an equal the points are given in full to each exhibitor but the prize money
is halved.

Prize money: 1st $10, 2nd $6, 3rd $4 unless otherwise stated. Where there is
a sponsored prize or product there will be no prize money. When sending in
entries reference to Class number only will be sufficient.

Most points in each of the five sections prizes will be awarded 1st $20.00 2nd
$10.00

MRS RWB EVANS PERPETUAL CHALLENGE TROPHY has been donated for
the exhibitor gaining most points in Classes 1-58 (inclusive). Points must be
gained in each of the four sections – (cooking, jams, needlework and knitting).
HOROWHENUA AGRICULTRURAL PASTORAL AND INDUSTRIAL ASSOCIATION ANNUAL SHOW 2019 - The Showgrounds Levin on
GLADYS KILSBY MEMORIAL TROPHY for the most points gained in open
cooking section.

with this rule, exhibits may be refused for competition.

Entrants in this section who are members of a Group, Individual, WI or

50gms minimum, also a piece of unspun fibre or unspun carded fibre is to be
attached. All hanks have a piece of fibre or unspun fibre attached. A sample of
fibre or yarn is to be attached in Classes 82-88.

                             CONDITIONS FOR COURT

       It is a concern to the committee that the persons responsible for
       removing the Court items are also removing exhibits from other
       areas. Exhibits not pertaining to the Courts are to be collected from
       the Stewards responsible for that section.

3.      Space of Bay – Approx. Frontage 1740mm, 870mm deep, 900mm h
        All work to be judged to be entirely the work of members – accessories
       allowed.
4.     Exhibits are to be set up on Friday morning 9.00-11.00am
        No further time will be permitted
5.      Only 3 members responsible for arranging the court will be admitted
        on the Friday and 3 on the Sunday at 4.30 pm
6.      Competitive exhibits to be numbered as per schedule.
7.      No packet cake mixes to be used.

9.       Engraving of the Shield/Cup/Trophy is the responsibility of the winner

MR AM COLQUHOUN donated a perpetual challenge Shield to be competed for
annually and awarded to the Groups and individuals, WI, Rural Women, gaining
most points in Knitting & Needlework Sections. The Shield is to be returned to
the Secretary of the Association in December. The points gained by individuals
in the knitting and needlework sections excluding the court will not count towards
the Shield unless the respective organisation has a court.
MRS IM LANCASTER MEMORIAL CUP is awarded annually for the winning
court
LETT HORTICULTURAL CUP awarded for the best floral exhibit in the court
MRS Z HOOD donated a Perpetual Challenge Trophy for the most outstanding
exhibit in the courts – excluding the floral arrangements
TODD WHITEHOUSE have donated prizes in the Courts and other sections
