MAP OF VENUES

                       Walking times (approx):

                       •   Nottingham Station to Urban Room, 38 Carrington Street - 2 minutes
                       •   Urban Room to Ibis Nottingham Centre - 10 minutes
                       •   Ibis Nottingham Centre to St Mary’s Church - 5 minutes
                       •   Ibis Nottingham Centre to Nottingham Council House - 5 minutes
                       •   Ibis Nottingham Centre to Nottingham Conference centre - 15 minutes
TRAVEL TO NOTTINGHAM
By air:
East Midlands Airport (IATA: EMA) lies south-west of Nottingham and
flights are available to many international destinations.

Skylink Express skylinkexpress runs every 30 minutes non stop runs
between the airport and city centre.

The Skylink bus skylinknottingham runs between the airport and city
centre every 20 minutes 24 hours a day. The bus journey takes
approximately 30-40 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.

Birmingham International Airport (IATA: BHX) is approx. 40 miles from
Nottingham and serves all major international destinations.

Robin Hood Doncaster Sheffield Airport lies to the north of
Nottinghamshire.

By train:
Nottingham is on the main line out of London St Pancras. East Midlands
Trains. (NB. If you are travelling on the East Coast Line change at
Gratham, not Newark which requires a twenty minute walk between
stations) There are also regular connections to Birmingham, Derby,
Leicester, Crewe, Sheffield, and Leeds.

By tram:
The Nottingham Tram runs from Nottingham main line station through the
city centre and out to Hucknall park and ride and Phoenix Park park and
ride to the north of the city. It also runs south of the city to Clifton South
and Toton Lane via Beeston. There are 7 tram Park and Ride sites and
many of them are close to the M1.

The Nottingham Conference Centre have negotiated rates with NET for
discounted tram travel. Please download the Tram voucher for further
details.

By car:
From the south, travel on the M1 and exit at junction 24 or 25 or use the
A606. From the North take the M1 junction 25 or 26. There are 7 tram
Park and Ride sites and many of them are close to the M1.

Car Parking
Nottingham Conference Centre offer a substantially reduced rate with
Talbot Street Car park for conference delegates. Discounts are offered on
a full day rate (between 4-8 hours) @ £8.50 inc VAT or a 24 hour rate @
£10.50 inc VAT. Payment is made at Nottingham Conference Centre
Reception on the day of your event. Please visit NCC reception anytime
during the day to make payment, but please ensure it is before 5.30pm.
NB: this is only for the Day School not the Full School.
Overnight parking with a Free Car Care Scheme is available at the Queens
 Drive & Racecourse Park and Ride site

 Parking closest to the hotel is The Lace Market Car Park (Fletcher Gate)

 REGISTRATION FOR FULL SCHOOL DELEGATES – Thursday 4 July
 Register and collect your Full School delegate pack

 12.00 - 5.45 pm: IHBC Registration for the Full School & tour
 departure point

    •   Tours 1 and 6 start and end at Nottingham Station
    •   Delegates arriving after 5.45 pm should go straight to the hotel and
        can attend the Reception, without a badge, and then register and
        receive a delegate pack on Friday at the Day School.

    •   Luggage store & Refreshment
    •   Departure and return point for some Thursday study tours (see
        individual tours for full details)

Registration for the Day School (Friday 5 July only)
This will take place at Nottingham Conference Centre, Burton Street,
Nottingham NG1 4BU from 8.45 am. The programme will begin at 9.30am.
You will be given a delegate pack and badge which should be worn
throughout the day. Full School delegates already registered do not need to
re-register on Friday.

ANNUAL SCHOOL VENUES
Full School Accommodation
Accommodation for Full School delegates will be in the Ibis Nottingham
Centre, 16 Fletcher Gate, Nottingham NG1 2FS

Please allow enough time on Friday to get to the Day School venue at
Nottingham Conference Centre, Burton Street, Nottingham NG1 4BU - 15
mins walk or two tram stops.
Evening drinks reception
The venue for the reception on Thursday evening is St Mary’s Church, High
Pavement, Nottingham NG1 1HN - 5 mins walk.
Day School
The venue for the Day School is Nottingham Conference Centre, Burton
Street, Nottingham NG1 4BU - 15 mins walk.

Annual Dinner
The venue for the annual dinner is Nottingham Council House, Old Market
Square, Nottingham, NG1 2DT - 5 mins walk.

Wifi
Wifi is available at the Notingham Conference Centre; please download the
instructions

STUDY TOURS
Thursday afternoon Tours
1.30 - 4.40 pm: Thursday Study Tours Most tours start and end at the
Urban Room, 38 Carrington Street, Nottingham NG1 7FG but tours 1 and 6
start and end at Nottingham Station.

Please note the following:

   •   Luggage can be left at the the Urban Room
   •   All times are approximate but start times cannot be delayed for late
       arrivals
   •   Most tours involve substantial walking - please bring sturdy shoes
       and wet weather gear
   •   Some may require hard hats and these will be provided
   •   All tours necessarily are subject to change.

Tour 1: Wet wheels: Cycle tour of Nottingham flood defences
2.00 – 5.30 pm – tour starts and ends at Nottingham Station bike hire.
(Delegates should register and leave their bags at the Urban Room, 38
Carrington Street.)
Tour 2: Nottingham: City Cave 1.45 – 5.00 pm – tour starts and ends
at the Urban Room, 38 Carrington Street
Tour 3: Heritage-led regeneration: the Nottingham Experience
2.05 – 5.00 pm – tour starts and ends at Urban Room, 38 Carrington
Street
Tour 4: Discovering Nottingham’s local architects: a city centre
walking tour 2.10 – 5.00 pm – tour starts and ends at the Urban Room,
38 Carrington Street
Tour 5: Nottingham Castle Transformation Project 2.10 – 5.00 pm –
tour starts and ends at the Urban Room, 38 Carrington Street
Tour 6: Boots Campus, C20 tour 2.00 – 5.00 pm – tour starts and ends
at Nottingham Station with bus to Boots Campus
Option 7: Seminar: Meanwhile: Protecting & temporary use of
historic buildings 2.30 pm – 5.00 pm - Cathedral Hall, North Circus
Street, Nottingham NG1 5AENB: Meet at 2.30 pm at Urban Room, 38
Carrington Street.
Additional post tour option: Seminar: Green Issues 5.00 – 5.45 pm

Saturday Tours
Please note the following:

   •   All tours leave from the Ibis Centre Nottingham between 9.30
       and 10.00 am (see individual tours for departure times.
   •   Sandwich lunches will be provided for all tours – please
       collect these from the hotel reception area prior to leaving on
       the tour
   •   Bags can be left at the hotel for later collection or be taken on
       coach tours

   •   All times are approximate but start times cannot be delayed for late
       arrivals
   •   Study Tours depart from accommodation at Ibis Nottingham Centre
   •   Commence 9.30/9.45/10.00 am (see individual tours for departure
       times)

Tour 1: Southwell Dumble and Leaky Barrier walking tour (3.4
miles) 9.30 am – 5.15 pm (Drop off at Nottingham Station)
Tour 2: Derby flood alleviation and mitigation measures 9.45 am –
2.45 (drop off at Derby Station) & 3.30 pm (drop off at Nottingham
Station) Luggage can be taken on the coach
Tour 3: ‘From a king in a carpark to a phoenix at Friars Mill:
heritage-led regeneration in Leicester City Centre’ 10.00 am – 3.00
pm (drop off at Leicester Station) 4.00 pm (drop off at Nottingham
station) Luggage can be taken on the coach
Tour 4: Rock Cemetery & Catacombs 9.30 am – 12.30 pm Luggage
can be left at the Ibis Nottingham Centre
Tour 5: Nottingham Castle Transformation Project 9.45 am – 12.45
pm Luggage can be left at the Ibis Nottingham Centre
Tour 6: Heritage-led regeneration: the Nottingham
Experience 10.00 am – 1.00 pm Luggage can be left at the Ibis

ANNUAL SCHOOL SOCIAL MEDIA
Social media is an ideal channel for initiating conversations and reaching a
larger audience and we strongly encourage any participants to share their
thoughts, photos and posts on Twitter using @IHBCTweet.

During the 3 days of the Annual School, Kathryn Moore, Heritage at Risk
Solutions Officer for Heritage Lincolnshire, will be co-ordinating social media
posting which will include photos of delegates and speakers. (NB: let
Michael (services@ihbc.org.uk) know if you do not agree to being
photographed or included in any social media content).

To assist our delegates with networking opportunities we provide a list of
delegate names and their organisations in the delegate packs. We do not
sell or make the names of delegates, or their contact details, available to
others outside the event. If you do not wish these details to be circulated

Dress Code
Dress code for the school is smart casual throughout.

Mobile Phones
For the benefit of other delegates and out of consideration to the speakers
please switch off mobile phones or set them to silent during the School
working sessions.

Smoking
In line with current law smoking is not allowed in any of the conference
venues or on coaches used for tours. As a courtesy please refrain from
smoking on tours and sites.
