CENTAC – VOLUME III (UG PROFESSIONAL NEET & NON-NEET COURSES) Page 7 1.4 ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS: For admission to any course, the candidate should fulfill the necessary admissions requirements for the respective degree courses, as prescribed by the Pondicherry University: S.No. NAME OF THE DEGREE ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS 1 MBBS & BDS Candidates seeking admission to the M.B.B.S.,B.D.S.., Degree courses must have passed H.Sc.(Academic)examination conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Examination of Tamil Nadu or any other equivalent thereto, with a minimum of 50% marks (40% of marks for OBC/BCM/MBC/EBC/BT/SC candidates) in aggregate, in the prescribed subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Biotechnology, Botany and Zoology.

Further they should have studied English as one of the subjects and they must have passed the above four subjects individually. 2 B.A.M.S.

(a)Candidates seeking admission for BAMS course must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English individually and must have obtained a minimum marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the qualifying examination with a minimum of 50% marks for General and 45% of marks for OBC/BCM/MBC/EBC/OPH(General &OBC)and40%ofmarksfor SC/BT &OPH. (b)The Higher Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination which is equivalent to 10 +2 Higher Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years study, the last two years of study comprising of Physics, Chemistry, BiologyandMathematicsoranyotherelectivesubjectswithE nglishatalevel notlessthancorecourseofEnglishasprescribedbytheNationa lCouncilofEducational Research and Training after the introduction of 10+2+3 years educational structure as recommended by the National Committee on education.

CENTAC – VOLUME III (UG PROFESSIONAL NEET & NON-NEET COURSES) Page 8 Eligibility criteria for PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED Candidates (for MBBS & BDS Courses) The physically Challenged candidates with locomotary disorder of lower limbs between 40% to70%are only eligible under the Physically Handicapped quota. NOTE: The guidelines of Govt. of India and regulations of Medical Council of India shall be observed in making admissions of differently abled (Physically Handicapped) candidates, according to which the Physically Handicapped candidates with locomotary disorder of limbs between 50% to 70% will be considered first and for remaining unfilled seats, candidates with 40% to 50% disorder will be considered.

NOTE:  The candidates seeking MBBS/BDS course under this category will be required to undergo second Medical examination by a Medical board constituted for the purpose by the Director of Health and Family Welfare Service, Puducherry, to ascertain and confirm the nature and extent of physical disability.  Candidates with any other DISABILITY other than the locomotor disability of the lower limb will not be considered for the admission into MBBS/BDS course under this special category. Such application will be summarily rejected without any intimation to the candidates.  The decision of the Director of Health and Family Welfare Service, Puducherry, in this regard will be final.

1.5 SELECTION PROCEDURE 1.5.1 PROCEDURE FOR DETERMINING THE MERIT SCORE: Admission to the above degree courses is based on the performance of the candidates in the NEET score for M.B.B.S., B.D.S. & B.A.M.S. courses. 1.5.2. ORDER OF PRIORITY FOR THE TIE BREAK When more than one candidate has got the same marks in the common merit list (i.e. the merit list prepared after merging the normalized marks of candidates from various Boards), the inter-se merit among such candidates, for each course will be determined in the order of priority as specified in table below:

(even if the occupancy is in fraction of a month) If a candidate discontinues the course on or before the last date of counseling of the respective academic year of admission he/she shall have to pay ₹50,000/- and in case the candidate leaves the course on or after 31st August or during any other subsequent academic years he / she shall pay a sum of ₹4,00,000/- as penalty (separate agreement bond should be signed by the candidates and parent/guardian along with two sureties for the aforesaid, which is available with the institute) Fees mentioned in parenthesis as ‘Refundable’ shall be refunded after the candidate gets relieved from the institute, upon satisfactory completion of the course.

Registration fee, Matriculation fee, Recognition fee, University development fee, Sports fee and any other fee that may be levied by the University shall be payable, at the rate as prescribed by the Pondicherry University, within the stipulated time.

CENTAC – VOLUME III (UG PROFESSIONAL NEET & NON-NEET COURSES) Page 15 INDIRA GANDHI MEDICAL COLLEGE & RESEARCH INSTITUTE AGREEMENT BOND FORM FOR CANDIDATES ADMITTED FOR MBBS COURSE FOR ACADEMIC YEAR 2018-2019 CENTAC / AIQ / NRI This agreement made on this - - day of - - 2018 between the Director, IGMC&RI (hereinafter called the Director which expression shall, where the context so admits include his successor in Office) of the one part and - - son / daughter of - - --resident of - - in the Taluk of district (hereinafter called the candidate) which expression shall, where the context so admits include his/her heirs, executors, administrators and representatives of the other party.

WHEREAS the candidate has, on his/her application been selected for admission to the MBBS course in the IGMC&RI (hereinafter referred to as the said College). AND WHEREAS the candidate has, agreed to complete his/her studies for the said course, at the said College, subject to the condition hereinafter appearing. Now THEREFORE, this agreement witnesses and it is hereby agreed as follows: 1. The candidate shall diligently complete his/her study for the said course at the said College, shall abide by the rules of the said College for the time being in force regulating the conduct of students at the said College and shall pass all the examinations prescribed for the said Course by the affiliated University.

2. Upon passing the final MBBS Examination the candidate shall serve as ‘Intern’ for the prescribed period as laid down by Medical Council Act, 1956 (Central Act 102 of 1956).

3. During the period of Internship under clause (2) the candidate shall faithfully, diligently and with skill and ability perform his/her duties and observe the rules in force. 4. Candidates who discontinue the course between 25th August and 30th are bound by the bond and thereby they shall have to pay a sum of ₹50,000/- (Rupees Fifty thousand only) as penalty for having breached the contract in the bond and the candidates who discontinue the course on or after 31st August and in any date of the subsequent years shall have to pay a sum of ₹4,00,000/- (Rupees Four lakhs only) as penalty.

Any other sum falling due from the candidate under this agreement apart from any other dues including that of the Hostel, as the case may be, shall be recovered from him/her as an arrear of land revenue. 6. The witness shall bear the stamp duty payable in respect of this agreement if required.
