Let the Games Begin
We are a community based, not for profit organisation and are pleased
to welcome all local teams as well as the international teams to the
                    International Netball Festival.
A big thank you to all the coaches and team
managers in organising your team’s participation and others that
                assisted in this extraordinary Festival.

Over the next few days, our expert team will provide a Festival of high
level netball, event recreational activities, team bonding, friendships
and more. With three competition days, participants will
experience a sporting holiday and an experience of a lifetime.

                           Let the games begin
                  The International Netball Festival Team
                  www.internationalnetballfestival.com
                            An environment-friendly organisation

                        Spirit of the Game
Play by the rules, play fair and "in the spirit of the game of Netball".

Contesting the ball is fine. Rough play will be penalised.
                     Positive support from spectators welcome.
The spirit of the game dictates that players make sure they give others on court,
often opponents, a fair chance. We encourage Festival players to be
good sports and applaud good plays, for your team and the opposition.
If we have umpires then we have games—no umpire, no game.
Umpires are to be respected. Positive feedback only on the courts. If there are no
umpires, there are no games. Spectators and players, please remember that our
umpires are human beings and may miss from time to time. They will do their
best. If the umpires are hassled verbally, their umpiring deteriorates.
Please try and boost their confidence.
                               Umpires’ calls are final.
We hope that this will encourage everyone to play in the true spirit of the game.

                                                                                 5

Competition Rules
Registration
A player must be registered and paid for, to play in the 2017 International Netball Festival Fiji
BEFORE TAKING THE COURT.

Playing in a Division
Players are not permitted to play down a Division or across teams.

Playing in more than one team
Players are not permitted to play in more than one team. Once players are registered in a
team, they must stay in that team.

Scorecards and Points
Scoreboards will be placed in the centre of the court. The scoreboards will be replaced there
after each game. A scorer from each team must be supplied. Scorers must stand beside each
other on the sideline. Scorecards are to be returned to the INF Control Desk by the winning
team. Please have teams fill in Umpires award on the scorecard. Umpires need to sign and fill
in points for the Team Sportsmanship Award—see page 9.
Points Table will be positioned at the Control area. It will be posted on the INF Facebook Page
and website each evening.

Stoppages
Blood Policy
Play shall cease immediately when blood is noticed. The player must leave the court
immediately and may be replaced. The injured player may return to the court at the next
centre pass if the blood flow has ceased, the wound cleaned and covered. If a shooter or
centre is injured, the team may change one other player on the court to take that position.
Stoppages are to be kept to a minimum.
Injuries
There will be 30 seconds for minor injury. The player may
be replaced. If a shooter or centre is injured, the team
may change one other player on the court to take that
position. Stoppages are to be kept to a minimum. They
may re-enter the court after the next centre pass off.
Send Off
If someone has been sent off the court, they have to be
off the court for a minimum of 2 goals. They can go back
on the court after 2 goals, at the next centre pass off.

Wet Weather
The INF President will make wet weather playing
decisions. Games may be played in the rain unless a
decision is made to postpone play.

In the spirit of the game of netball

                                                                                                6
International Netball Festival Inc Lautoka, Fiji 2017 - Intersport ...
Competition Points
Three (3) points for a win, two (2) points for a draw and one (1) point for a loss.

Tie in Competition Points
If there is a tie with competition points at the end of competition, the team’s placing in the
ladder will be determined by the following, in this order:
     1. The result of the game between the 2 teams – if that was a draw then,
     2. A count back of goal difference - Goals For vs Goals Against. The team with the
biggest goal difference will qualify ahead in the ladder – if this was equal then,
     3. Fair play points as awarded by the umpires – if this is equal then,
     4. A toss of the coin by the Tournament Director with the 2 team captains. (The team
who has travelled furthest to the Festival will call the toss)
Draw at the End of a Final
The teams are allowed a 1 minute drinks break at the full time whistle. NO players can be
changed. There will be three (3) minutes extra time each way. No break. If it is still a draw then
it will be first team to reach a two (2) goal lead. NO change of players, no breaks.

Speaker Jane Rushton—Author of Mind Tricks
Jane Rushton inspires and motivates people by sharing her journey of her
near fatal, head on car accident in Balcutha, New Zealand in 1992 where she
was unrecognisable and had to learn to walk again. After many surgeries,
Jane realised she had to make a choice to be a victim or to learn how to heal
herself and create more happiness in any area her life.

Jane is an international speaker and will share how to take responsibility of
your life to create more balance, bliss and productivity, easily and effortlessly.

Jane will share with the International Netball Festival players, coaches and
supporters, her story and that by taking responsibility of how you think, act
and what you do, affects everything and everyone in your team. It comes down
to how you think. Jane will demonstrate her easy “Mind Tricks methods” for
you to try, so you can use them to be able to adjust your thoughts, as thoughts
affect your moods, situations and behaviours. By using Jane’s method,
coaches and players can work together as a team.

Jane, a successful author, speaker, Mind Tricks Coach, spiritual healer,
Pilates and gym instructor, as well as an International Netball Festival
coordinator and Director of two companies, has been an entrepreneur since
the age of 24.

Jane’s love for sharing her vision, started over twenty years ago when she
began her search to find direction in life, to uncover her passions and work
through life’s challenges. Jane says, "Life's a Rollercoaster. It's good to learn
how to reduce the dips in life". She has studied so many modalities in Personal
Development, Natural Therapies, exercise and rehabilitation, she has lost
count.

Jane’s second book “I Lost My Face”, will be published in 2018. Jane shares
with you, her journey from the first days of her accident and how she has
chosen to live with her injuries and ongoing operations whilst living a fit,
healthy life with her adoring husband, Nick and four wonderful children,
Olliver 21, Holly 19, Aimee-Rose 17 and Trent 14.
