ACADEMIC PROGRAMME
SUMMER SCHOOL 2020ENGLISH LANGUAGE Students sit an English examination upon arrival at Summer School and are put into groups based on the exam result. There are generally four levels, Beginner, Pre-Intermediate, Intermediate and Advanced. Special consideration is given to students who are looking at passing a Cambridge or equivalent exam and they are put into a class with others who have the same aim. English is taught in a relaxed environment with a lot of emphasis on speaking activities. Students work in pairs or small groups to build confidence and fluency in real life scenarios. They develop skills in thinking, reading, writing, listening and speaking in English. Class sizes are small so that teachers are able to give students individual support and help during the lessons. Group activities include University Challenge, Running Dictations, Quizzes, Student Presentations and Debates. These activities encourage students to work in teams and to have fun whilst learning.
