BEST OF BREED (VARIETY) COMPETITION
Best of Breed (Variety) Competition - "The following categories of dogs may be entered and shown in
Best of Breed competition. Dogs that are Champions of Record. Dogs which according to their owner's
records have completed the requirements for a championship but whose championships are unconfirmed.
The entry and showing of dogs whose championships are unconfirmed is limited to a period of 90 days from
the date of the show where a dog completed the requirements for a championship according to the owner's
records. If, at the end of the 90-day period, the championship of a dog has not been confirmed by the
American Kennel Club, no further entries of the dog for Best of Breed competition are to be made until its
championship has been confirmed by the AKC."

PUPPY SWEEPSTAKES

The English Cocker Spaniel Club of Southern California Sweepstakes is open to all dogs and
bitches six months and under eighteen months of age on the day of the show. All dogs entered
in the Puppy Sweepstakes must also be entered in a regular class. Entry must be made at the
same time and on the same entry form as for the regular class. Indicate "Sweepstakes," with the
appropriate sex and age division, in the space provided on the form for "Additional Classes."
CLASSES (divided by sex): 6 & under 9 mos; 9 & under 12 mos; 12 & under 15 mos; 15 &
under 18 mos
PRIZE MONEY: After the Club retains 20% of the entry fees for expenses, 50% of the
remaining Sweepstakes entry fees will be divided as follows: Best in Sweepstakes, 60%; Best
Opposite Sex to Best in Sweepstakes, 40%. The remaining 50% will be divided among class
winners as follows: Classes having 4 or more entries: 1st 40%; 2nd 30%; 3rd 20%; 4th 10%.
Classes having 3 entries: 1st 50%; 2nd 30%; 3rd 20%. Classes having 2 entries: 1st 60%; 2nd

The English Cocker Spaniel Club of Southern California Veteran Sweepstakes is open to all
10dogs and bitches who, on the day of the show, will be seven years of age or older. Neutered
dogs and spayed bitches are eligible for competition in Veteran Sweepstakes. Entries in
veteran sweepstakes NEED NOT be entered in a Regular Cass. If entered as an additional
class, entries into the Veteran Sweepstakes must be made at the same time as the regular
entries are made on the same blank under “Additional Classes.”
CLASSES (divided by sex): 7 & under 9 years; 9 & under 11 years; 11 years & older
