COLLEGE CREDIT OPTIONS
Advanced Placement (AP)
The Advanced Placement program created by the College Board offers college-level curriculum and
examinations to high school students. American colleges and universities often grant placement and course
credit to students who obtain high scores on the AP exams.
AP prepares students for more challenging course work in higher education. Currently LHS offers three AP
courses; AP English Literature & Composition, AP U. S. Government and Politics, and AP United States
History. Learn more about the Advanced Placement on the AP College Board and Ohio High Ed websites.
College Credit Plus
• Ohio’s Post-Secondary Education program helps students in grades 7-12 earn college and high school
credits at the same time.
• Promote rigorous academic pursuits and to provide a wide variety of options to college-ready students.
• Classes at public colleges or universities are free, including tuition, fees, and books.
• The deadline to notify your high school counselor of interest is April 1.
• Contact the LHS Guidance Department or visit the LHS Guidance Website for more information
pertaining to other policies and requirements specific to the CCP program.
