From the Desk of the GM
Welcome to the next three months of Spring. March brings us St. Patrick’s Day, April brings us
Easter and Volunteer Appreciation Week and in May we celebrate Mother’s Day & Queen Victoria.
Volunteer Week
April 19-25 is National Volunteer Appreciation Volunteer Appreciation

person’s social, physical and emotional wellbeing.
Studies have found that older adults who volunteer
have reduced stress-related illnesses and higher self-esteem and are less likely to feel isolated.
Volunteering can also have a positive impact on lifestyle transitions in older adults as they retire,
downsize their housing or deal with health issues.
At Mapleridge we are so fortunate to have over 100 active volunteers who dedicate their time,
energy, expertise and willingness to give back to the centre.
Volunteers Really Do Make Mapleridge!
Until next time…… Heather McGinn

“Just wanted to thank you so much for your expertise
in the buying and selling of our home. I don’t think, I
fact I know we could not have found a better person
to deal with. You were so understanding and
compassionate on our circumstances. It was a
pleasure dealing with you. Would recommend you to
anyone.” Love S&A

“Dear Sylvia- Wow!! When you set out to sell a house,
you really mean to sell the house! Thank you so much
- this is such a huge relief and mom sounded
positively giddy on the phone last nite. “

“Not being experienced in real estate, we had lots of
questions though out the process . We found that
Sylvia was wonderful to quickly reply back with an
answer to questions and if she was not sure, she
would find out the answers and get back to us
quickly . Her experience and knowledge made the
process a lot less stressful for us. She delivered all
the things promised and brought the process to a
satisfactory result. Thank you very much.” J
