U.P declares Affordable Rental Housing Scheme for Students
 Uttar Pradesh Government has stated on March 26, 2021, to start out a reasonable rental housing scheme
  for students, urban migrants, and poor people living in cities.
 Uttar Pradesh cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath offered for Affordable Rental Housing and
  Complexes (ARHC) scheme.
 ARHC schemes are going to be performed in two models. The primary model will convert vacant houses
  funded by central or Government into Affordable Rental Housing and Complexes through an agreement.
 While, under the second model, public or private objects will build, operate and maintain the ARHC on their
  available vacant land.
Skill Ministry invites applications for Mahatma Gandhi National Fellowship
 Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, in partnership with 9 IIMS has invited applications for
  the “Mahatma Gandhi National Fellowship” till 27th March 2021.
 The programme has invited applications together with IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM-Jammu, IIM
  Udaipur, IIM Kozhikode, IIM Nagpur, IIM Visakhapatnam, IIM Lucknow, and IIM Ranchi.
 Mahatma Gandhi National Fellowship was 2021-2023 was launched by the ‘Ministry of Skill Development
  and Entrepreneurship. It is a two-year fellowship programme, launched to boost skill development at the
  district level.
Gram Ujala scheme Launched in Varanasi
 Power and new and renewable energy minister, Raj Kum ar Singh, launched the “Gram Ujala scheme” on
  March 24, 2021, in Varanasi.
 Gram Ujala scheme offers the world’s cheapest LED bulbs across rural areas at rupees 10. This scheme is
  financed based on carbon credits.
 It will claim carbon credits under “United Nations’ Clean Development Mechanism (CDM)”.
 Carbon credits will provide rupees 60 per piece while rupees 10 are going to be paid by rural consumers.
Social Justice Ministry to launch Poshan Abhiyan for the Elderly
 Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment intends to launch ‘Poshan Abhiyan’ for the elderly to provide
  them with ‘nutrition support’.
 Under the mission, supports are going to be provided to indigent elders who aren't staying in adulthood
  Homes and are victims of malnutrition.
 The Government of India has been implementing several schemes and programmes under an Umbrella
  Scheme for Senior Citizens called “National Action Plan for Senior Citizens”.

 Department of Biotechnology (DBT) has received a cabinet-approved National Biopharma Mission with the
  target of encouraging emerging biotechnology enterprises across India.
 The mission is named“Industry-Academia Collaborative Mission for Accelerating Discovery Research to Early
  Development for Biopharmaceuticals – Innovate in India (I3) Empowering biotech entrepreneurs &
  accelerating inclusive innovation”.
Jal Shakti Ministry & UN tie-up for Jal Jeevan Mission
 The Jal Shakti Ministry has signed a pact with the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) and
  therefore the Government of Denmark on March 22, 2021, so as to bring the faucet water connections to
  the 11 water-scarce districts of the Bundelkhand and Vindhya regions in Uttar Pradesh under the Jal Jeevan
  mission.
 This mission was launched on Assumption, 2019. it's envisioned to supply safe and adequate beverages by
  individual household tap connections.
‘Catch the Rain’ campaign
 Prime Minister Narendra Modi is ready to launch the “Jal Shakti Abhiyan: Catch the Rain campaign” within
  the virtual mode.
 The campaign is being launched on the occasion of World Water Day on March 22, 2021. The campaign is
  going to be implemented under the theme– ‘Catch the rain, where it falls, when it falls.
 This campaign is going to be implemented across the agricultural and concrete areas within the country. it'll
  run till November 30, 2021.
NDHM Sandbox Environment
 The Central Government has planned to gauge the result of Phase 1 of the National Digital Health Mission
  (NDHM) for the expansion of the project after spending rupees 118.2 million on the Mission thus far.
 Under this mission, the “NDHM Sandbox Environment” has also been established to market innovation and
  build trust.
 The National Digital Health Mission (NDHM) was launched by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi,
  on Assumption, 2020, following this, the mission was launched within the union territories of Chandigarh,
  Daman & Diu, Ladakh, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Puducherry, and Lakshadweep.
Jharkhand’s SAAMAR Campaign
 The Jharkhand government has launched the “SAAMAR Campaign” which stands for “Strategic Action for
  Alleviation of Malnutrition and Anaemia Reduction” campaign recently.
 The campaign was launched to tackle malnutrition in Jharkhand.
Gram Ujala Scheme Launched for Rural Areas
 India has launched the “Gram Ujala Scheme” on Saint Joseph, 2021, to supply the most cost-effective LED
  bulbs in rural areas.
 The scheme was launched by the Union power and new and renewable energy minister, Raj Kumar Singh.
 It provides the LED Bulbs in these areas at a mere ₹10. This scheme also furthers its global climate change
  strategy and strengthens the self-reliance credentials.
Mukhyamantri Chiranjeevi Yojana
 The Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Ashok Gehlot, announced on March 18, 2021, that the much-anticipated
  Universal Health Scheme (UHS) called “Mukhya Mantri Chiranjeevi Yojana” are going to be launched on
  May Day, 2021.

 The chief minister also announced that the registration for those that aren't included in National Food
  Security Act (NFSA) or the Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC) beneficiary list will start from April 1, 2021.
 He further announced to extend the MLA Local Area Development (MLA LAD) fund from the prevailing Rs
  2.25 crore to Rs 5 crore annually.
Poshan Pakhwada Being Celebrated from 16th to 31st March
 The Ministry of Women and Child Development is celebrating the Poshan Pakhwada from March 16 to
  March 31, 2021.
 The Department of Women & Child Development or the Social Welfare Department is going to be the nodal
  department to look after the Poshan Pakhwada across the states and Union Territories.
 Under it, the NMPB (the National Medicinal Plants Board) serving under the Ministry of AYUSH, will share 4
  samplings of the nutritional-rich plants to each of the Anganwadi Centers.
J & K approves Rs. 2 lakh interest-free loan under PMAY-U
 The Jammu & Kashmir Administrative Council has given approval for the proposal of the Housing and
  concrete Development department to supply interest-free loans up to Rs 2 lakh.
 The approval was granted under the leadership of Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha.
 After the approval, interest-free loans up to Rs. 2 lakhs are going to be delivered to the urban houseless and
  economically weaker section receivers.
 The loans are going to be given under the Construction- BLC component of the Pradhan Mantri Awas
  Yojana- Urban (PMAY-U) scheme.
Govt announced New Scheme for Tourist Vehicle Operators
 The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has announced a replacement scheme with the target of
  promoting tourism and increasing state revenues.
 The new set of rules are going to be referred to as “All India Tourist Vehicles Authorization & Permit Rules,
  2021”. The new scheme was announced in light of accelerating travel and tourism in India.
 The ministry highlighted that the permit is going to be issued after submitting relevant documents and costs
  within 30 days of submitting such applications.
Arjuna Sahayak Irrigation Project
 The “Arjuna Sahayak Irrigation Project” is going to be completed and launched in one or two months within
  the state of Uttar Pradesh.
 The project is going to be inaugurated by the Prime Minister.
 The launching of the project was declared by the Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, on March 11, 2021. This
  irrigation scheme will bring positive changes for farmers.
 This was announced by him while he was launching the Lahchura Dam under the Arjun Sahayak Project
  within the Mahoba district.
Union Cabinet approves Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Nidhi
 The Union Cabinet approved the PMSSN (Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Nidhi) on 10th March 2021, as
  one non-lapsable reserve account.
 This has been confirmed for the share of Health from proceeds of Health and Education Cess which is levied
  under the Section 136-b of Finance Act, 2007.
 This is a non-lapsable reserve account for the Health within the Public Account. This fund will include the
  proceeds from the share of health within the Health and Education Cess.

Sub-Mission on Agroforestry scheme
 The CSB (Central Silk Board) under the Ministry of Textiles and therefore the Ministry of Agriculture &
  Farmers Welfare have signed an MoU for a “convergence model” so as to implement the “Agroforestry in
  the silk sector” under the “Sub-Mission on Agroforestry (SMAF) Scheme”.
 The MoU was signed within the presence of the Union Minister of textile and ladies & Child Development,
  Smriti Irani, and therefore the Minister of State for Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Parshottam Rupala.
 On the occasion, Smriti Irani said that India will become self-reliant in silk production within the subsequent
  two years.
Stand Up India Scheme: Over 81% of account holders are women
 The Ministry of Finance launched several schemes in past 7 years which comprise some special provisions
  that empower women. One such scheme is that the “Stand-up India scheme” under which 81% of the
  account holders are women.
 These schemes have financially empowered the ladies to steer a far better life and fulfill their dreams of
  being an entrepreneur.
 This scheme was launched on April 5, 2016, so as to market entrepreneurship at the grass-root level for
  economic empowerment and job creation.
 This scheme seeks to supply the institutional credit structure to succeed in bent underserved sectors of
  individuals like Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, and ladies Entrepreneurs .
WCD Ministry ordered All Major Schemes under 3 Umbrella Schemes
 The Ministry of Women and Child Development has declared the order of all the main schemes of the
  ministry for his or her effective implementation and programmes under the three Umbrella schemes
  namely, Mission Poshan 2.0, Mission Vatsalya, and Mission Shakti.
 As per the census 2011, Women and youngsters account for 67.7% of India’s population.
 So, the empowerment & protection of girls & children and ensuring their overall development is extremely
  crucial for the sustainable and equitable development of India.
Floriculture Mission to be implemented in 21 states
 The Union Health Minister, Dr. Harsh Vardhan, asked the scientists of CSIR laboratories in India to develop
  land available at each laboratory to line up as a model under the “CSIR Floriculture Mission”.
 Within the earlier movie, the CSIR Floriculture Mission was given approval for the implementation across
  the 21 States and Union Territories of India.
 Under the CSIR Floriculture mission, the available knowledge domain within the CSIR Institutes is going to
  be utilized so as to assist Indian farmers and industry to reposition themselves so on meet import
  requirements.
Swachhta Saarthi Fellowship
 The Principal Scientific Adviser of the Govt of India launched the “Swachhta Saarthi Fellowship” under the
  “Waste to Wealth” Mission on 3rd March 2021
 The Swachhta Saarthi Fellowship initiative was launched with the target of recognizing the scholars, self-
  help groups, community workers, sanitary workers, and municipal workers who are engaged in tackling the
  big challenge of waste control in an accurate and sustainable manner.
3rd Jan Aushadhi Diwas Celebrations Begins
 The 3rd Jan Aushadhi Diwas celebrations began on 1st March 2021.

 This is usually a one-week-long celebration and hence the celebrations would conclude on 7th March 2021.
 To mark the celebrations, the Jan Aushadhi Kendras led the Health Check-up Camps. The health check-up
  activities include Sugar level check-up, vital sign check-ups, free doctor consultations, and free medicine
  distribution.
 The camps informed the educated general public who visited there regarding the worth, benefits, and
  quality of the medicines which are sold at the Jan Aushadhi Kendras.
Field Assessment of Swachh Survekshan 2021 Launched
 The Secretary of the MoHUA (Ministry of Housing and Housing Affairs), Shri Durga Shanker Mishra,
  launched the sector assessment of Swachh Survekshan, 2021.
 It's the sixth edition of this annual cleanliness survey which is conducted by the govt of India.
 The Swachh Survekshan was set down the spirit of healthy competition between the cities and towns of
  India.
“Sugamya Bharat App” to be Launched
 The Union Minister for Social justice and Empowerment, Shri Thaawarchand Gehlot, will soon launch the
  “Sugamya Bharat App” in the virtual mode on Texas Independence Day, 2021.
 The minister also will launch a handbook called “Access – The Photo Digest”.
 The Sugamya App and therefore the handbook were developed by the Department of Empowerment of
  Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD) under the parent head of the Ministry of Social Justice and
  Empowerment.
 Mobile App is often downloaded after the department will launch it officially from the Play Store by the
  Android users.
