Industry News Alaska Attorney General Action Against Fraudulent Timeshare Exit Company Serves as Warning to Consumers - July 2022 With the recent lawsuit filed by Alaska Attorney General Treg Taylor against seven corporations and eight individuals who are alleged to have operated a fraudulent timeshare exit company, the American Resort Development Association-Resort Owners’ Coalition (ARDA-ROC) today reminded timeshare owners to always talk to their developer Sking & Snowboarding first when looking to exit their timeshare. UPDATES @ T HE NU T T® Ski Area Expansion Updates This year we celebrated our 50th anniversary with the theme - Ready. Set. We’re not done yet! We are thrilled to give you an update on the ongoing renovations and expansion plans. The 2021-22 ski season enjoyed improvements in our facilities, slope expansion, and major technology. We are excited to report several of the planned improvements and slope expansions are ready for the 2022-23 ski season. 9 UPDATES AT THE NUTT®
RFID Ticketing – Introduced in the 2021-22 ski season, this new technology allows owners and guests to book their slope-use tickets online, check-in via kiosk, skip long ticket lines, and hit the slopes when you are ready. Your RFID card will work for the whole season or just the days you choose. It’s a great way to plan your snow sports adventure and find available discounts! Did you know? You receive your Massanutten Owners Gold Card discounts when you book through the owners’ website. Remember, you will be asked to present your Gold Card ID when checking-in at the RFID window. Three New Trails – This season is when the real excitement begins with the addition of three new trails - Mueller’s Mile, rated “More Difficult”, Ridgecrest, rated “More Difficult”, and the Slot, rated “Most Difficult”. All will open for the 2022-23 season and will be accessible by the Peak Express lift. 10
Snow Making – Massanutten installed 50 HKD low energy guns and 6 automated fan snowmakers last year and will install 52 additional automated low energy HKD KLIK guns, 22 TechnoAlpin guns, and 8 SMI fan guns on existing and new terrain over the next two years. All new terrain will feature automated low energy air, water, or fan snowmaking technology. Did you know? The new snowmaking equipment on the existing terrain will replace much older less efficient air water snow guns to reduce our carbon footprint and improve efficiency. Owner Gold Card Discounts Online Owner Gold Card discounts have moved to your Owner's Website. In order to receive your Owner Gold Card Discounts, you will need to login to your Owner's Website. You are still able to make in-person purchases however, you may find fewer items available for purchase compared to purchasing in advance. Tickets may sell out, especially during holidays and weekends. A valid Gold Card ID will be required for each ticket purchased at time of redemption. Owners will need to show their physical Gold Card for in-person purchases. For items purchased at non- Gold Card rate, owners can still get their discount but MUST show their physical Gold Card at the ticket window to receive a refund for the price difference. She was a bride at a wedding I coordinated last year and she was attending a birthday party that I had organized and was managing. She raved about her wedding day and gave high compliments to me and our staff. It was wonderful learning what a positive impact I had made in someone’s life. - Amy H. • During our summer operations, a couple of guests didn’t think they could ride the chairlift back down. I brought them down on our Polaris Ranger and gave them info about the resort and ski area they didn’t know previously. They said everything about the experience made their vacation exceptional. - Allen G. • Many years ago, a teen-aged guest was injured while skiing on an expert slope. A couple of days later, we found a note on our chalkboard from his father, which gave the young man’s name and injuries. It also said that the doctors said that people rarely survive the injuries that he had. The father finished his note with “Your people saved my son’s life and I can’t thank you enough.” Until the recent renovation, a photo of that message hung in our break room, and I still have it. R EG A L V I S TA S REFURBISHMENT UPDATES In partnership with the award-winning Orlando based design company, Hospitality Resources and Design, we will start a refurbishment of Regal Vistas condo interiors in December of 2022 and expect completion by August of 2027. A few key highlights include family friendly seating and living spaces, updated lighting and flooring in condo, and property unique touches.
