Notice regarding Covid19
Please be advised that the running of the Paparoa A & P Show is
dependent on the status of Covid19 restrictions at the time.
If we are in Level 3 restrictions the Show will be cancelled.
If we are in Level 2 restrictions the intention is that the Show will
continue, but with social distancing rules in place in line with the
covid19.govt.nz website requirements.

             Leisure Ring entries on the day at the Leisure Ring. Block entry fee of $25.
             Harness Ring Block entry fee of $25.00 per horse/Pony

      Children: $5 per child for the first two children with all under 5 year olds free
      Free Gate Entry if you are a Member of the North Kaipara Agricultural Association and/or are the
      holder of a District Show Pass. All other exhibitors and family must pay a gate entry fee.

         MEMBERSHIP
         For an annual subscription of $15.00 a competitor can become a full financial member of The
         North Kaipara Agricultural Association (NKAA) This membership provides free entry to the
         Paparoa A&P Show (saves $10) as well as 11 other A&P Shows in Northland and Auckland.
         Entrants also receive a $1.50 discount on entry fees for Equestrian events at the Paparoa Show.
         If Membership paid before 30th September 2020 District tickets will be available, if after 1st
         October membership fee is $20 a gate pass will be given but no District tickets, EF discount will
         still be given until 31st December.

HEALTH AND SAFETY INFORMATION
       All riders and competitors compete at own risk, hard hats to be worn at all times when mounted
       and Driving. Helmets must now be tagged with official red tag from 1st August 2017.

       Schedule warning.

       i.       Yellow card- This show /Event supports the RAS ‘yellow card’ system

                  A Yellow card will be issued, in cases of offences in respect of abuse of animals or
                  inappropriate behaviour as per the RAS Constitution and the RAS Rules &
                  Regulations/Bylaws, including the Equestrian Rulebook, the RAS affiliated
                  Show/Event/registered measuring stand and their grounds and their duly appointed
                  delegates may deliver to the person responsible a Yellow Warning Card ( either
                  immediately or within 10 days of the show) which suspends any penalty until possible new
                  offences. Full wording of the ‘Yellow Card) system is available to view on the RAS website
                  www.ras.org.nz.

                  Ii Clean Sport- The Rules of the Royal A & P Society New Zealand in Regard to Clean Sport
                  apply. Competitors are advised that tests for prohibited substances may be carried out
                  during the Show/event and that testing of all animals is at the persons responsible;s risk.
                  Forbidden substance -Any substance capable of affecting the speed, stamina, courage or
                  conduct of a horse/pony, animal.,

       All competitors must comply with the terms of the Health and Safety Act 1992 and its subsequent
       amendments as well as the Equestrian Rules for RAS Affiliated Shows (go to www.ras.org.nz).
       The North Kaipara Agricultural Association will not accept responsibility in any claim from any
       person resulting from non-compliance with the Health and Safety Act or RAS Rules.
       All riders and competitors must follow the instructions of Stewards and Officials. Competitors
       are responsible for ensuring animals are kept under control at all times. The North Kaipara
       Agricultural Association reserves the right to order immediate removal from the Showground of
       any animal it considers dangerous, unruly or unmanageable.
       Signing of entry form means the competitor will comply with all H & S regulations.
       SMOKE FREE SHOW
       Smoking is prohibited everywhere on the Show Ground.
       NO DOGS ALLOWED
       Unauthorised dogs are not allowed anywhere on the Showground. They will be required to be
       removed immediately from the ground and any competitor with an unauthorised dog will be
       disqualified.
       Dogs allowed by legislation e.g. guide dogs or police dogs and competition dogs are permitted on
       the Showgrounds.
       PARKING (for competitors only) – Please park your trucks, floats, trailers in the designated areas.

       THINGS TO BE AWARE OF
                 The Committee reserves the right to amalgamate classes if insufficient entries.
                 Equestrian classes (except Leisure Ring) Number holders to be worn.
                  Your allocated Exhibit numbers will be available on Showday, if not previously notified.
                  (Please bring your own numbers 1-10)
             If horse accommodation is required Friday night please contact Jeannette Caldwell .
    Reserved for out of area competitors only. Pens $10.00 per horse. Limited number of pens available.
    Camping and horse pens available Friday night but gate admission fee is payable for Saturday.

   Trophies remain with the Show
          Height certificates and Performance/Rider card must be carried in ring or available
           immediately on request, before any prizes will be awarded. Please ensure riders obtain
           Rider/Performance Card from RAS /measuring stands prior to show even if they are an
           open rider.
          Equestrian Competitors and Junior Riders please see new rules passed at RAS AGM. 2015
           re age change. Rule Books available on request from RAS Head Office Canterbury or on
           the website www.ras.org.nz
          All showing classes qualifying for HOY are run under RAS Rules.
          Entries on day for Leisure Horse Ring at their ringside. Late entries will be accepted with
           Chief Horse Steward, ringside Ring 1, for other classes, late new entry 50% penalty fee,
           before start of competition. If already entered competitor wants to enter extra classes
           fee is 25% per class late fee.
          Registered Classes must have photo copy of Registration Papers with entries.
          Scratchings less 20% upon receipt of Doctor or veterinarian certificate

       CAMPING AVAILABILITY
       Camping available free for Friday night but gate admission fee is payable for Saturday.

       Prepaid catalogues MUST be collected from Ring 1
       Some non-ordered copies may be available

     Ponies need to have a height certificate and performance card. First Ridden Rider cannot
     compete in both lead rein and first ridden section but a pony that has been in lead rein may go
     in first ridden with a different rider. Cantering only in individual workout.
     Rule CDE 3.d - Must be ridden in snaffle bridle, with a caveson noseband, a snaffle bit and
     single rein. See RAS Rule Book for eligible bits allowed . Judging criteria. 60% suitability,
     temperament and safeness. 40% conformation and paces.

       larger combinations

 179 Take your own line. Drivers to clear as many cones as possible in 60 seconds but each set of cones
    must only be driven through once.

 As this is a new section, the classes may be altered on day to suit number of entrants.

 The organisers reserve the right to amalgamate classes if insufficient entries.
