Using a number of ‘Fair trade’ products and the Co-op ‘Fair trade’ CD introduce the children to the symbol of ‘Fair trade’ products and what ‘Fair trade’ means. Use the story from the CD to reinforce this. Using ‘Talk Partners’ discuss with their partner what they think are the advantages/ disadvantages of buying ‘Fair trade’ products and why they think they should buy them? Use ‘Snowballing’, ‘Envoying’ to share points of views. Discuss and record findings.

Resources: Co-op CD. ‘Fair trade’ products. Recording sheets. Pupils to arrange a visit to the local Co-op. Children to design a recording sheet and questionnaire.

The children will organise and allocate different tasks to the children within the group. Give the children within the class opportunities to ask the other groups questions.
