Sexes divided. *Chapter 11, Section 8 of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows allows spayed bitches and castrated dogs to be shown in the Veterans Class, and as the Stud Dog or Brood Bitch in classes at Independent Specialties, and are eligible for competition in Best of Breed. BEST OF BREED COMPETITION Non-Regular Classes Involving Multiple Entries Stud Dog Class: For Stud Dog and two (2) of their get. Stud Dogs must be entered in the Stud Dog Class and shown in the ring with their Get.

Award will be based on the merits of the Get. Get must be individually entered in one of the breed classes in this show for which it is eligible.

Brood Bitch Class: Same as Stud Dog except substitute Breed Bitch for Stud Dog and Produce for Get. Brace Class: Each Brace shall be composedof two Golden Retrievers owned by at least one commonowner and presented by a maximum of two handlers.If more than one brace is entered by the same identical owner, each brace must be designated as "Brace 1", "Brace 2", etc. As a judge's decision in the Stud Dog, Brood Bitch and Brace Classes will be based on the merits of more than one dog or bitch, no one of the dogs or bitches making up the entry judges first in the class will be eligible for Best of Breed by virtue of having won this class.

Judges' Award of Merit - This award is given at the Judge's discretion. The Award of Merit winners will be selected after the Best of Breed, Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed & Best of Winners awards are made. All dogs remaining in competition are eligible for an Award of Merit. The number of awards will be up to 10% of the Best of Breed entry. BEGINNER PUPPY SPECIAL ATTRACTION DATE - Friday, March 1st, 2019 Bring your Beginner Puppies (4-6 months of age) to the Potomac Valley Golden Retriever Club Show Four to Six Month Special Attraction (AKC Sanctioned).

One combined class, not divided by sex, will be offered for Golden Retrievers that are at least four months and under six months on the day of the comptition. All of the puppies are exhibited in the same class and the only placements are Best of Breed (BOB) and Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed (BOS).

Entry and eligibility requirements: ! AKC registration number or an AKC litter number will be required for entries of an AKC recognized breed as listed in Chapter 3, Section 1 of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows. A foreign born dog may enter this class if they are registeed in the country of origin. ! All entrants are to be vaccinated (including rabies) in accordance with their veterinarian's protocol. ! Professional handlers are not permitted to exhibit in this class. (Professional handlers are defined as any person who belongs or has belonged to a professional handlers' organization, distributed rate cards, or otherwise advertised or represented themselves as handling dogs for pay).

Exhibitors should plan on opening the mouth of their puppy for the judges. Breed standard disqualifications such as color, height, weight or dentition shall not be a point of consideration in the judging process for this 4-6 month Puppy Special Attraction event. The calendar for this class will consistent with the eligibility dates for the AKC National Championship. All Juniors meeting thecriteria forthisclass are required to entry the MasterClassand may change theirentry thedayof theshow if entries have already closed. Once the eligibility time frame for that year has passed all participants return to the Open Class to complete for the following year.

ALL CREDIT CARD ENTRIES, REGARDLESS OF METHOD SUBMITTED, are processed throught the FAX program and will be charged a $4.00 per dog per show processing fee. CANADIAN EXHIBITORS make fees payable in U.S. FUNDS. NO ENTRY SHALL BE MADE AND NO ENTRY SHALL BE ACCEPTED WHICH SPECIFIES ANY CONDITIONS AS TO ITS ACCEPTANCE. ENTRY FEES shall not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by Veterinarian or Judge, or barred from competition by action of Show Committee.

If because of riots, civil disturbances or other acts beyond the control of the management it is impossible to open or to complete the show, no refund of entry fee will be made. Extreme weather conditions, such as, but not limited to snow storms, hurricanes, lightning, extreme heat, must be considered for the health and safety of the dogs, exhibitors and spectators. The well-being of dogs, exhibitors and spectators is of paramount importance and, in the event it is necessary to cancel or stop the show before completion, no refund of entry fee will be made.

ERRORS ON ENTRY BLANKS. Owners are responsible for errors in making out entry forms, whoever may make such errors, and no entry fee will be refunded in event of such errors or cancellation of entries after the published closing date. NO REFUND FOR DUPLICATE ENTRIES. We will make every effort to find all duplicate entries, but if a dog hasbeen processed, no refund will be made. CONSULT JUDGING PROGRAM FOR TIME OF JUDGING. DOGS MAY ARRIVE any time prior to their scheduled time of judging. DOGS NOT REQUIREDfor further judging will be excused. JUDGES WILL NOT WAIT FOR ANY DOG HOLDING UP A CLASS.

Owners or agents alone are respon-sible for the presence of their dogs in the judging ring when their classes are called to be judged. The show-giving club and the Superintendent have no obligation or responsibility for providing service through a public address system or stewards or runners for the purpose of calling or locating dogs that are not brought into the ring when required. ALL DOGS PRESENT must be held on leash or confined to their crates except when being judged or when in the exercising ring.

THE SHOW COMMITTEE/SUPERINTENDENT will use due care and diligence for the welfare of dogs and exhibitors, but will not be responsible for, nor assume any liability in the event of an accident or misfortune to either dogs or exhibitors participating in this show. You are responsible for picking up after the animals in your care. PLEASE EXERCISE DOGS IN DESIGNATED AREAS ONLY There will be pooper scoopers and containers placed around the grounds. PLEASE USE THEM. All regulations will be enforced by the Grounds Committee.
