Professional Development Week, Fall 2020
                          Monday, August 10 – Friday, August 14

Dear IVC Family,

Welcome to Fall 2020 Professional Development/FLEX Week!

Change has become a normal part of our lives this past year highlighting the importance and need
for a comprehensive professional development program. During the Fall 2020 Professional
Development Week, we hope to provide you with the opportunity for professional growth,
development, and ways to interact with colleagues. In addition, opportunities for IT and technical
support have been expanded to help provide you with the resources you need for a successful
semester online.

As we start the 2020 -2021 academic year, we would also like to welcome our new IVC President,
Dr. John Hernandez. Dr. Hernandez will start off our week on Monday, August 10th with his first
President’s Opening Session. The SOCCCD Chancellor, Dr. Kathleen Burke, will also attend the
President’s Opening Session in lieu of a separate Chancellor’s Opening Session. We hope the IVC
community takes this opportunity to get to know Dr. Hernandez.

Due to COVID-19 and the campus closure, our Fall 2020 Professional Development Week will be
conducted virtually with live synchronous presentations. Please see the specific session write-ups
for information on how to connect to the virtual sessions.

All IVC faculty, staff, and administrators are invited to participate.

Sincerely,

IVC Academic Affairs Committee
