2 SCHAUER PERFORMING ARTS SEASON 17|18
    FROM THE Executive Director

         F
IRST let me say that this last season flew by
incredibly fast. It seems we spend so much
time negotiating, booking and waiting for the
performance to come—and then, like that, it’s gone.
         Amazing!
Thank you to everyone who supported our past
season. I received countless positive comments
regarding the kinds of performances we brought
to the Schauer Center and we had several sold-out
shows. All of this tells us we are on the right track in
finding a balanced mix of the kind of performances
people in our area want to see. However, we didn’t
want to stop there. We wanted this season to be even
         better; our biggest challenge yet.
With that goal in mind, we pulled out all the
stops. This season is filled with platinum recording
stars, TV performers, and national and international
performing artists — all right here at the
         Schauer Arts Center.

                    “I hope you’ll agree that
2017-18 is going to be a

                   red hot year!

Developing, Supporting and Promoting the Arts

     A
s a non-profit, regional center for the arts, the Schauer
Arts Center provides experiences that inspire creativity and connect
people. We strive to be a vital resource that fosters, supports, and
enriches the cultural, educational, and social well-being of our
     community.
filled with history, the Schauer Center was transformed from a canning
factory built in 1919 into an architectural award-winning performing and visual
arts center. Since opening in 2001, the Schauer Center presents professional
touring performances in the Ruth A. Knoll Theater and regional artwork in
the Suckow Family Art Gallery, and serves as a home to our resident groups:
Hartford City Band, Hartford Community Chorus, The Hartford Players, and the
     Kettle Moraine Fine Arts Guild.
we are a gathering place where people from all walks of life achieve a sense
of belonging and benefit from enjoying and participating in the arts. Our year-
round School of the Arts offers music, theater, dance, and visual arts education
for all ages, levels, and visions. In addition, the Schauer Center is the perfect
backdrop for a variety of special occasions and business functions that can be
     hosted throughout our facility.
