REGENESIS QUARTERLY POST - In This Issue
A Letter from Human Resources
Welcome to the first edition of the REGENESIS employee eNewsletter!

The goal of the quarterly newsletter is to motivate our team and keep you
informed of some of the key initiatives going on throughout the company
driving us ‘Forward Together.’ Coming off of the Annual Company Meeting
and building on the ‘Forward Together’ theme this year, we are excited about
so much of the work being done globally to move us as an organization
toward expanding our reach in to new markets.

Whether it’s new discoveries in the lab, improved health and safety
guidelines, a promotion or a transfer, or you just got married or added a new
addition to your family – this is your forum for sharing stories and successes.
We hope you’ll consider playing a part in the development of future stories
by sharing with us pictures, anecdotes, and testimonials so that we can
incorporate your wins in future newsletters. The newsletter will also be
a platform to provide information like benefits, new team members, and
promotions. This is a community effort and we all benefit from learning about
the challenges and the victories achieved as a team.

New Faces
                     REGENESIS Welcomes Research
                     Associate, Joshua Moreno
When it comes to leveraging his academic background and university
Joshua Moreno studies, Joshua Moreno’s decision to join REGENESIS® last September
Research Associate
as a Research Associate appears to be an ideal match. He begins, “To
San Clemente, CA
sum it up, I like that I get to “science” all day. At REGENESIS I get to think
critically about how to solve problems and develop new technologies
through science.” Prior to joining REGENESIS, Moreno enlisted in the
Navy as a hospital corpsman. After serving five years, he earned his BS
in Biology at Old Dominion University, Norfolk, Virginia. Armed with his
degree and a thirst for science-based research, he accepted a position at
Anheuser Busch as a quality lab analyst, testing Budweiser and several
other beers for what he calls “awesomeness”. Concurrently, he also worked
at an environmental testing lab as an organic chemist. Soon, his interest in
environmental science drew him to REGENESIS. He continues, “I was drawn
to REGENESIS because I wanted a position that would allow me to develop
new technologies while supporting research and product development. My
research background, coupled with my undergrad degree and analytical
chemistry experience in the environmental lab industry influenced my
decision to move my career forward with bioremediation at REGENESIS.”

When asked what excites him most about being part of the REGENESIS
team, Moreno quickly points to the opportunity to assist in formulating
new technologies. He shares, “I’m most excited about developing new
remediation technology that will continue to push the company to the
forefront of the remediation industry. In addition, I get to learn from our
                       brilliant team of scientists.”

“No shark encounters Outside of work, Moreno enjoys applying some of his learnings from
yet, although...” Anheuser Busch to brewing his own beer. “I like to brew stouts and IPAs
because they’re my favorite to drink,” he says. “I love to drink IPAs on
a hot summer day and I enjoy stouts in the evenings to unwind.” He has
also taken up surfing since relocating to Southern California and includes
Oceanside harbor as a favorite surf spot. He shares, “Oceanside is a great
spot for beginners, offers lots of parking, and has an awesome coffee shop
located right by the beach entrance.” He continues, “No shark encounters
yet, although I was almost pulled out into open water by rip current.
Fortunately, I was saved by another surfer. That was scary.” He also stays
busy as a volunteer when time allows, and in Virginia, prior to his relocation
to California, was involved with ForKids, a nonprofit organization that
assists low-income families at risk of homelessness. Much of his free time
now however is spent helping his fiancé plan for their upcoming wedding,
                       scheduled for March.

REGENESIS is proud to welcome Joshua Moreno to the team as a Research
Associate and appreciates his commitment to working alongside other
research staff in the company’s ongoing efforts to develop new science-
                       based solutions for its clients.

Mishawaka, IN growing environmental remediation company provides an ideal platform for
him to excel in a role he’s been looking forward to for some time. He begins,
“I’ve been interested in an environmental career since college and I always
enjoy traveling. I’ve been told that my job will be up to 90% travel and I like
that our team will be making some consequential decisions that can change
many lives for the better.” Based upon his prior work history, Benson is well
equipped to handle a variety of field work in his new science-based role
with REGENESIS. He continues, “Most of my previous jobs required physical
labor and the application of my college degree, a BS in Psychology and
Biology, with a minor in Chemistry, which I obtained from Central Michigan
University. One of my recent jobs prior to joining REGENESIS included a
role with the United States Geological Survey, as a field and lab technician. I
would help collect field samples and data, process samples in the lab, and do
                  data entry, analysis, and presentation.”

Benson will be working out of the REGENESIS Mishawaka, IN office,
while concurrently finishing up his master’s degree from Central Michigan
University. He feels his thesis- The Effects of Alkali Treatment on
Cyanobacterial Transmission in Ballast Water, will assist him in certain
aspects of his new role with REGENESIS. He also feels he will benefit from
his undergrad experience in Karlstad, Sweden several years ago, where he
initially became interested in environmental remediation. He shares, “I was
heavily affected by a class I took while studying abroad in Sweden. Since
then, I knew my vocation should include a consistent effort to leaving our
planet in a little better shape for future generations. To me, this seems like a
tangible thing to do here at REGENESIS, one project at a time.”

“Before the pandemic In his free time, he enjoys playing hockey as a goalie. “Before the pandemic, I

at Indiana Dunes National Park, along the southern shoreline of Lake
Michigan. He adds, “I haven’t been able to help out since the pandemic, but
am looking forward to returning once things get back to normal.”

REGENESIS is proud to welcome Seth Benson as a Staff Scientist and
appreciates his expertise and commitment in developing environmental
solutions in the company’s ongoing efforts to develop new products for
                       REGENESIS and its clients.

day in the nine years I have worked for the company! It’s not the kind of
place you clock-in at 9 am and out at 5 pm, and that’s why I like it.” He also
appreciates the transparent culture of the European operation. “We have
created an environment where no one is afraid to speak up and share new
ideas. Likewise, if someone is stuck on a problem, there is always someone

she and the company make a great match. “I was attracted to REGENESIS
because I always wanted to work for a company that makes a positive
impact on society and the environment. I also believe as a marketer, your
work is more fulfilling if the products you are marketing solve environmental
problems rather than solely pushing consumerism.” With an accomplished
academic background that includes a double B.Sc degree in Business
Administration and Marketing, and a Master’s degree in Marketing, Amann

and postgraduate degrees and know that I can continue to grow in my role
with a company focused on our planet’s environment.”

REGENESIS Receives Environmental
Business Journal’s Business Achievement
Award for Technology Merit
In February, REGENESIS had the honor of receiving an Environmental
Business Journal - Business Achievement Award for Technology Merit for
PFAS Remediation. Senior Vice President, Rick Gillespie accepted the award
on behalf of the company in a virtual award ceremony on Feb. 12th, 2021.

REGENESIS earned this award for our PlumeStop® Liquid Activated
Carbon™ technology, which has been widely accepted and successfully
used for in situ treatment of PFAS-contaminated groundwater to eliminate
exposure risk to downgradient receptors. PlumeStop® has been applied or
is in the planning phase on 114 project sites worldwide, including industrial
properties, Department of Defense facilities, airports, and Superfund sites.

In 2020, REGENESIS treated seven PFAS sites while adapting to the
COVID-19 pandemic and developing protocols to ensure safe work
practices. PlumeStop® PFAS treatments have proven successful, with the
target PFAS compounds reduced and maintained below their regulatory
cleanup levels on all the applications completed to date. REGENESIS takes
pride in remaining at the forefront of PFAS remediation despite the various
challenges faced in 2020 and are grateful to be recognized by EBJ for our
continued efforts.

Warehouse Manager
Gallatin, TN for the new Gallatin, TN warehouse, seems to rise to the challenge. Prior
to joining REGENESIS in October of last year, Zhorne served in the military
and afterwards, held key positions in a fast-growing startup, both of which
he feels offered invaluable experience, especially for his new role. He
shares, “While serving in the Army, I did two deployments to Iraq for a total
of 27 months. Some of the key attributes I gained included leadership skills
and how to maintain millions of items in inventory. I also learned that no
matter what might be occurring in the civilian world, things can always be
worse.” After completing his military service Zhorne signed on for a startup
company with a friend as the first employee of the company. He continues,
“When I left the company, it had grown from a 5,000 sq. ft. warehouse to
a 550,000 sq. ft. warehouse, and from 1 employee to over 500 employees-
with 15 retail stores, a full-scale, 10-truck trucking company, and an
eCommerce company. Needless to say, my leadership was routinely tested
with over 200 direct employees during peak seasons.”

                                     28
As one who seems to thrive in challenging situations, Zhorne was attracted
to joining REGENESIS, partly because of the different products and systems
involved. “Although I was comfortable with where I was professionally at

Gallatin warehouse and supervising its staff, Zhorne says he appreciates
that the company is somewhat small, yet poised for success within a larger
category. He also is encouraged that the company trusts its employees
to manage their areas of expertise, and feels his leadership will have an
impact on the continued growth of the company. He continues, “I think as
the tempo of the Gallatin warehouse increases, and as we begin to move
product and production into the warehouse, I’ll have a lot to bring to the
table. At the same time, I realize I have a lot to learn from the rest of the
team around me, and I look forward to increasing my level of understanding
when it comes to environmental technologies.”

Outside of work, Zhorne makes the most of his free time, with hobbies
that include racing 4-wheeler UTVs and other outdoor activities, and he
also enjoys being a “shade tree mechanic”- maintaining his 4-wheeler in his
backyard “under a shade tree”, instead of using the services of a professional
                         mechanic.

REGENESIS is proud to welcome Rick Zhorne to the team and appreciates
his leadership and enthusiastic approach to warehouse management as the
company continues to meet and exceed our client’s expectations.
