What is your cancelation policy?
Programs, activities, special events and festivals which are canceled, postponed or changed in
location will be announced as soon as possible. Please check Facebook or Waukee.org for updates.
Waukee Parks & Recreation reserves the right to cancel a program or an activity that does not meet
the minimum number of participants necessary to offer the program.
What is your program refund policy?
Programs/Classes/Camps: A $5 non-refundable processing fee will be deducted from the refund
when an enrollee withdraws from a program at least one week prior to the first day of the program.
Within one week of the program start date, a refund will not be issued.
Leagues: A $5 non-refundable processing fee will be deducted from the refund when an enrollee
withdraws prior to rosters being made. After rosters are formed, no refund will be issued.
Trips: Cancelations for trips must be made at least three weeks prior to the trip date to receive a full
refund less a $5 non-refundable processing fee. No refund will be issued for cancellations within 3
weeks of the trip.
What is your facility rental refund policy?
To receive a refund, reservations must be cancelled at least 10 business days prior to the date of
reservation. A $10 non-refundable processing fee will be deducted from the refund. No refund will be
issued for cancelations made within 10 business days of the start of the reservation.
What is your photo/video policy?
Photos and videos may be taken of participants and guests at programs, activities, leagues, trips,
special events and festivals. These photos and videos may be used in promotional materials, press
releases and kits, magazine articles, newsletters, Waukee.org and any City social media channels.

Take an adventure with a story this fall! The

Department have joined together to promote
literature and exercise. Enjoy a different book each
month displayed along the Heart of the Warrior
Trail. Start near the Warrior Lane/Ashworth Drive
roundabout and head west along the trail.

Adult Coed Indoor Volleyball League Yoga in the Park

a u More than 25 miles of trails wind through Waukee to connect
W neighborhoods and residents to different parts of the community and
neighboring trail systems. Grab your bike or take a walk on four main trails:
• Heart of the Warrior Trail
• Raccoon River Valley Trail
• Sugar Creek Trail
• Kettlestone Trails.
In addition, the City of Waukee invests in trails and greenways to make it
easier for residents to travel by foot or bike in their own neighborhoods and

Heart of the Warrior Trailhead Enhancement

A new amenity adds a great rest spot and access point to the Heart of the Warrior Trail. The
new space along Ashworth Drive includes a few parking spots for trail users. You can take
a break from the summer sun under a new shade structure while enjoying the beauty of a
butterfly garden donated by the Waukee Rotary Club. The bike fix-it station makes a quick
fix or tune-up more convenient.

Trailside Dog Park & Trailhead
590 SE Brick Drive
Trailside Dog Park spans four acres just east of Alice’s Road,
directly south of the popular Heart of the Warrior Trail. The park
includes public restrooms, 21 parking stalls, separated areas for
large and small dogs, a drinking fountain, dog waste stations, a
shade structure, concrete walking paths and open greenspace.
Before purchasing a pass to Trailside Dog Park, Waukee residents
must license their dogs with the City at PetData.com. Dog
passes come with an entry code to access the park. Pass fees
go toward maintenance of the park.

deck overlooking the park and a charcoal grilling area. Inside the shelter are 12 picnic tables.
