REGLAS BUENOS AIRES 2019


The competition Will take place the days 8Th to 11th in june 2019, al the Centro de Exposiciones de la
ciudad de Buenos Aires, Argentina. The days 9 and 10 the judges will judge the virtual competitions for
those that were not presents or the ones that want to send their work.

The competition will be done together with the Silkey Mundial event, and the UPA Hair competition, it
will be fashion shows for the participants, Booths of difference brands, master classes and Free
workshops.

All brands or Schools that want to be sponsor of the event may request information at
competenciademanos@hotmail.com

The preliminar day of inscription is on May 28th, After passing this date the competitor may wait the
organization confirmation for the submission .

Price List
All the payments will be made by bank by the competitors, international competitors may use paypal
account. the details will be send once the registrations is completed by email. the competitors may fill
their own inscription form at www.nailympion.com.ar and wait email confirmations that is not
automatically. The payments may be done by may 28th, after that date it will have a 50% more.

General Rules for Bs As 2019

 1. INJA competitions are open to students and professional nail technicians.

 2. The competitions are open to those who satisfy the requirements and applies to
    the
    competition properly.

 3. As an international competition participant, the competitor must respect all rules
    and
    manners of competition.

 4. Universal and commonsensical standards will apply to other manners or rules
    not specified
    in the INJA rules.

 5. A competitor will be disqualified if they intentionally or recklessly applies to a
    lower division
    then the actual division they belong in.

 6. A competitor will be disqualified and banned from all future INJA and
    Nailympion
    competitions globally, if they are caught cheating at the time of any of the
    competitions.

 7. Competitors must specify the division for each classification they are entering
    when the
    application form is completed. Once the competitor and has registered they can
    not change
    divisions without direct permission from the head judge or INJA supervisor.

 8. The competitor must enter the highest division they qualify for.

9. Due to the large attendance of international competitors, INJA and the
   competition's
   organization is not responsible for verifying that each competitor enters into the
   correct
   division.

10. INJA and the competition's organization reserves the right to refuse entry to any
    competitor.

11. There are no refunds of competition fees

12. Competition fees are non-transferable

13. All photos and videos taken by INJA and the competition's personnel or hired
    contractors
    are the sole property of INJA and the competition's organization to be used in
    whatever
    fashion deemed appropriate by them without compensation to the competitors
    and models.

14. Competitors must use a live model and arrange for the model themselves.

15. Competitor and Models must be at least 18 years old for divisions 1,2&3.

16. INJA and the competition's organization is not responsible for any competitor
    not adhering
    to or understanding all of the rules.

17. There is no smoking, drinking Alcohol or eating allowed on the competition
    floor unless
    allowed by organizer prior to the competition. We recommend water in bottles.

18. No mobile phones, tablets or computers of any kind on the competition floor
    during the
    competition for both the competitor and the model. No Apple iWatch or
    Samsung watches
    that can be used to communicate are allowed.

19. No outside communication with competitors while competitions are going on.

20. Competitors may not be on the competition floor until the floor is open for set
    up. If the
    competitor is competing in the following competition, you may leave your table
    set up but must clear the floor until the arena judge opens it up for the next
    competitions set up.


21. Competitors not understanding English or the language of the hosting country
    must provide their own translator.

22. Translators must read over the rules with the competitor prior to the competition
    briefing to assure the competitor understands all of the rules

23. The translator must be present during the competition briefing and stay just
    outside the competition floor in a designated area during the competition in the
    event that they are needed for communication with the competitor.

24. INJA and the competition's organization is not responsible for any competitor
    not adhering to or understanding all of the rules

25. Only competitors and models are allowed to enter into the competition floor.
    However, translators are allowed to enter the competition floor when the
    communication with the competitors is necessary and also during the briefing.

26. Each competition will have a briefing 15 minutes prior to the start of the
    competition.

27. All competitors and models must be present for the briefing.

28. Once the briefing of a competition begins, the competitor may not touch the
    models nails
    until the competition begins. If anyone or any competitor touches the models
    nails after the briefing and before the competition begins, there will be a 5 point
    deduction from their final score.

29. Models nails will be checked by the arena judge after the briefing to be certain
    no application has been done prior to the start of the competition.

30. Competitors allowed to prepare the natural nail prior to the competition. But
    absolutely no application work of any kind until the competition officially
    begins.

31. If it is decided by the floor head arena judge that application work has been done
    on the model prior to competition, the competitor will receive a 5 point
    deduction to their final score.

32. Competitors are allowed to set up table, products and supplies during the
    competition briefing

33. Competitors or models may not go into their kits once the competition has
    started.

34. All products being used during the competition must be clearly labeled. Hand
    written labels
    are acceptable.

35. Competitors must bring all of the necessary electrical supplies, including UV/
    LED lamps,
    extension cords, adapters, electric files and table lights.

36. Each competitor will be provided one electrical outlet.

37. Competitors must provide their own products

38. Strictly no molds that create a well shaped nail may be used for any of the
    competitions.

39. Once the allotted time is up the competitors must immediately stop working and
    put their
    hands up. The model must stand up and get in line for judging immediately.

40. Competitors caught touching their models hands after the time has been called
    will receive a
    10 point deduction to their final score

41. Models that have any tattoos on the lower arms or anywhere on their hands must
    adhere to the rule of having them covered by an official prior to judging.

42. Models may not wear any jewelry on their hands or wrist

43. When instructed, competitors are responsible for getting their model to the
    judging arena
    and making certain the model understands that they must be judged by all of the
    judges
    before leaving the competition arena.

44. Models must not leave the judging area until they have been completely judged.

45. Any model that leaves the judging arena prior to being completely judged will
    be
    disqualified.

46. Any competitor not abiding by these rules will take whatever point deduction is
    allowed in
    the rules. For any rules not specifying a point deduction, there will be one
    warning. The second infringement will be penalized by a 5 point deduction and
    the third infringement will be cause for disqualification of the competition.

47. In the event of a tie or of any disputes to the scoring places first through ten, the
    head judge will make the decision.

48. The head judges decision is final

49. Score sheets will be made available for all competitors

50. In the event that a competition only has 4 competitors, only 1st place trophy will
    be
    awarded.

51. The competition must have a minimum of 3 competitors in it. If less than 3
    competitors have
    entered, the competitor may choose to enter into a division in the next higher
    division or
    choose to pull out of it and get a refund on the competition fees.

52. The use of any type of fire or heating devices, which can ignite that are used
    directly on the
    model during the application or curing process is prohibited on the competition

floor for all
      of the competitions.

 53. The competitor is allowed to bring a small trolly or something that can be used
     as an extra
     table to put extra items on top when necessary due to small tables that are
     sometimes
     provided.

 54. The competitor can put all the needed items in a open box that be placed on top
     of the
     competitors nail kit.

 55. There is absolutely no touching of the models once the models are lined up in
     the Q for
     judging.

 56. Once the briefing begins the models hands must be on the table and the
     competitors hands
     must be placed on their laps under the table.
57. There will be music at the arena, but the competitor may choose to listen their own
      music, we recommend low sound so they can listen to any advice. No
      communication with the otside, MP3 players may be used, Celular phones in air
      more.
58. We will consider gel products to all products that need LED or UV.
59. At the starting of the competition the competitor will be recibe the submitted
      numbers, Brasalets for the models for each competition, they need to take care
      of this material for the 4th days, If the competitor don't compete the 8th they can
      go directly on the 9th or 11th and get their envelopes.

60.   There will be a 5 point deduction for any violation of the any of the rules.

Division Rules.

Student Division

This division is open to any student that is either currently enrolled in nail school or
who have received certificates for completing basic courses and/or exams dating back
from one year prior to the date of the competition. Every country the dates are altered
to reflect proper timeline.

First Timers Division

For people who have NEVER COMPETED in any competition in their life.
Competitors from First Timers Division will follow the same rules as competitors
from Division 1. Those that win 1st place in first timers will go to Division 2 the
following competition

Division I

For competitors who have never placed 1st in any *Hands - on **Internationally
recognized competition in Division 1.

Competitors that have taken 2nd or 3rd place trophy in Division 1 at any INJA
certified competition.

For competitors who have placed 1st at any INJA certified competition in STUDENT
divisions and still qualify under the rules for students.

Division II

For competitors who have competed in any *Hands-on **Internationally recognized
competition and have placed in 1st in division 1 and placed 2nd or 3rd for division 2 at
any INJA certified competition. Winners of Winners, First Timers Division

Division III

For competitors that have placed 1st in any *Hands-on **Internationally recognized
competition and 1st at any INJA certified competition in division 2 & 3

For competitors who have won Division 1&2 "Winner of Winners"
And for any competitor, regardless of division who has won "Grand Champion"

Gobal Championship Division

For competitors who have taken first place in Division III at any INJA certified
competition, Winner of Winners for Division III. Grand champions and all Nail Art
champions from Nailympics and Nailympion

**Hands-on Competitions

Any Competition where the competitor is creating the nails during the time of
competition and not done prior to the competition.

*Internationally Recognized Competitions

All competitions that are not a distributor or brand name competition. A competition
wherein 50% of the judges come from another country where the competition was
located.

Proof of division should be provided for all competitors when asked.

Division Winner of Winner Qualifications
To qualify for Winner of Winners trophy the competitor must compete in a minimum
of 3 of the hands-on competitions at the event.

The winner will be determined by the a combined total score of the competitors top 3
scores of the qualifying competitions.

Grand Champion

This trophy is open for divisions 1,2 &3 to enter. To qualify, the competitor must
compete in all of the hands on competitions. OR they can compete in the Ultimate
Nail Art Challenge and French Sculpture Acrylic and French Sculpture gel
competitions. The champion will be determined by the total scores of all of the
competitions combined.
Team Trophy

Team trophy is top 3 of the hands on competitions. To qualify for the Team trophy
there must be a minimum of 3 and maximum of 6 competitors entered.

The competitors may be in any of the 3 divisions. The scores will be combined from
all of the hands on competitions.

The top 3 scores from each team will be used to make the total score. It is free to enter
a team.

Student Team Trophy

Student team trophy; all 4 competitions must be entered by a minimum of 3 and a
maximum of 6 competitors.

The scores will be combined from all of the hands on competitions.
The top 3 scores from each team will be used to make the total score. It is free to enter
a team.

Submitted Nail Art Division I

For competitors who have never placed 1st in any *Submitted Nail Art competitions at
any INJA certified competition and **Internationally recognized competition in
Division 1.

Competitors that have taken 2nd or 3rd in Division 1.

For competitors who have placed 1st at any INJA certified competition in STUDENT
divisions and still qualify under the rules for students.

Division II

For competitors who have competed in any *Submitted Nail Art at any INJA certified
competition **Internationally recognized competition and have placed in 1st in
division 1 or placed 2nd or 3rd for division 2.

Division III

For competitors that have placed 1st in any * Submitted Nail Art*at any INJA certified
competition *Internationally recognized competition and 1st at any INJA certified
competition in division 2 & 3

For competitors who have won Division 1&2 Nail Art Champion

Nail Art Champion

Divisions 1,2&3 will each have its own Nail art champion. To qualify, all competitors
must compete in Fantasy Nail Art, Mixed Media and a minimum of 2 of the 4 other
submitted nail art competitions. For example; Salon Trend Art tip box, Salon Trend
Pedicure tip box, Flat Art tip box or Fantasy tip box

The champion will be determined by the total score that combines all 4 scores
together.

**Submitted Nail Art

Any competition where the work is done prior to the competition and turned in to be
judged or is put onto a model for display.

*Internationally Recognized Competitions

All competitions that are not a distributor or brand name competition. A competition
wherein 50% of the judges come from another country where the competition was
located.

Proof of division should be provided for all competitors when ask.
Proof of division must be provided for all competitors when they complete their
registration.

The competitor is responsible for registering in the correct division and must
demonstrate that the division in which they are registered is correct. The organization
requires that the competitor provided evidence that they have entered the correct
division.

A competitor will be automatically disqualified if they have intentionally or recklessly
registered in the wrong division to which they actually belong.

Competitors will submit a list of all competition trophies they have earned, and the
organizers will assist the competitors for registering in the correct division.




For all Boxes : they can be bought or made. All the work must be presented in white bases, black or
transparent, no FRAMES , No Coverages of any type. The background must be place without textures or
elemetns that causes distractions. The biggest that a base may extend is no larger than 20cms X 14cmx.
No boxes, just bases.

Mixed Media Box Art


Rules


Mixed Media Box Art is a submission type competition.
The tips may be bought or made. If the tips are created by hand, they must have the same proportions
and c-curve as commercial tips.
The tips may be connected together or displayed separately.
  If 10 tips are to be created they must reflect different nail sizes, as real nails do. Anyone using all one
size tips will have an automatic 5 point deduction to their final score. The tips may be any length and
shape.
Competitors must use 3 art media:
1. Mediums for painting, example: Micro painting, Air Brush, Water Paint, Gel Paint, Acrylic paint, Polish
2. Mediums to build 3D artwork, example: Acrylic,Color powder, Gel, Gel Pasta
3. Nail art embellishments, example: Rhinestones, pearls, bullion, foils and crushed shells.
Failure to use 1 of each type of media will result in a 5 point deduction.

All 3 media used must be used in an artistic way, or they will not count towards the required 3 nail art
media.
All of the nail art applied to the actual tips, whether attached to the tip or not, will count & must not
extend further than 1 cm from the nail surface or 5 points will be deducted from the final score.
No decals or stamping allowed. No molds (pre cast embellishments) to create art shapes
allowed.
The artwork for this competition will be judged as a complete portrait. One completed composition.
The artwork should have all types of artistry of all styles and creativity.
There should be a strong theme presented in the artwork
Total possible point is 110.
The maximum score given for each of the 10 criteria judged for this competition are: Level of difficulty
20pts, Balance 10pts, Composition 10pts, Originality 10pts, Media 10pts, Graphic Quality 10pts,
Continuity of theme 10pts, Clarity of design 10pts, Color Theory 10pts, Workmanship 10pts




Flat Art Box


Rules
Flat Art Tip Box is a submission competition
The tips must be connected together to create a canvas for the artwork
Competitors may use the following nail art media: airbrushing, acrylic paint, color gels and paints, nail
polish.
The art media must be used in an artistic way
All hand painting techniques are allowed but the artwork must be completely flat.
NO nail art embellishments such as Rhinestones, pearls, bullion, foils and crushed shells.
No decals or any kind. No stamping of any kind
The artwork for this competition will be judged as a complete portrait. One completed
composition.

Photo Poster Producción


Rules


1. There is no theme for this competition.
2. Competitors are only allowed to submit one photo.
3. The photo must be of one or two hands of a living model.
4. The photo must contain at least 40% of the image as the models hands, and the hands must be the
   focus.
5. The photo must contain a matching composition or inspiration using makeup, background, or
   accessories etc.
6. All techniques are allowed. The nails can be sculpted, enameled, or covered with art or
   embellishments.
7. The nails should be decorated by hand.
8. You can use false nails (pre-made press-on nails) but with discretion, we want to see magazine cover
   nails.
9. You can make minor photo retouches but never dazzle or enhance the art on the nails.
10. Materials for encapsulation and crimping are allowed.
11. Gels, acrylics, adhesive, silk, enamels, glitters, stones, pearls, holographs, microbeads, etc can be
    used.
12. Pre-assembled pieces can be used, but they may not be the only artistic element on the nails. (Art
    can not be made solely from embellishments)
13. You may not include any products in your photos (or branded items) or any trademarked items.

30. The final photo will be printed and displayed at the competition by the organizer. The final photo
    will be 30 x 45 cm on matte photo paper.
31. DO NOT PLACE THE NAME OF THE COMPETITOR IN THE PHOTO. Do not include a title on your photo.
    This information is for reference and must be included in your email submission.
32. We DO NOT recommend photos with less than 3000 mega pixels. The high quality in the photo is
    indispensable for the jury to evaluate correctly and appreciate the work. The printed quality will

depend on the quality of the photo sent, keep in mind that the image you see on a screen digitally is
   not the same as the printed photo. The colors in the print usually darker in appearance.
33. All general rules apply to this competition.
34. Competitors will be judged in the following categories: Composition of the complete assembly,
    originality of the theme in general, creativity of the nails, general impression of both nails and
    photo, level of difficulty of the nails, use of the color of both nails and photo.



Rhinestone art box.
___________________________________________________________

        1. Rhinestone art is a competition that is a submitted art classification.
        2. Cover tips should be used with a square or an oval shape.
        3. The length of the tip should not exceed 1.2 inches ( 3.04 cm)
        4. The tips must be separate and can not be connected together
        5. There is no theme scored for this competition
        6. You must use multiple color rhinestone used for this competition.
        7. Various shapes and sizes of rhinestones should be used
        8. Complete work must be under 5 mm in height and can not exceed 5 mm
        9. from nail base.
        10. Base nail should only be painted with one color. (Color with glitters is allowed.)
        11. Polishes or color gel (polish gels) may be used.
        12. Gel sealers, top coats and glue are allowed for adhesion of the rhinestones
        13. Total score is 90.
        14. The maximum score given for each of the 8 criteria judged for this competition are: Level of
            difficulty 20pts, Color theory 10pts, Creativity in design 10pts, Total impression 10pts,
            Balance 10pts, Workmanship 10pts, Rhythm 10pts, Variety 10pts

1. Living Art is considered a submitted art competition.
2. All artwork must be applied to an alternative decorative surface. For example: pins, brooches, key
   holders, plates, phone covers.
3. The artwork may be no larger than 10cm in height
4. Artwork shall be attached to a black board or box. Boards and boxes should be no larger than
   20x14cm
5. Competitors may use all nail art mediums.
6. Competitors must use a minimum of 3 art mediums and techniques. Failure to use 3 will result in a 5
   point deduction.
7. Nail art embellishments such as Rhinestones, pearls, bullion, foil, metal ornaments are allowed
8. The design shall not change the original use or nature of the base product (decorative surface)
9. The artwork should be a combination of artistry
10. The artwork should have all types of artistry of all styles and creativity.
11. There should be a strong theme presented in the artwork
12. Total possible point is 110.
The maximum score given for each of the 10 criteria judged for this competition are: Level of difficulty
20pts, Composition 10pts, Balance 10pts, Color Theory 10pts, Continuity of theme 10pts, Graphic Quality

Salón Deco Trend tip Art Box

(Salón Trend Manicure Tip Box)


Reglas


1. Salon trends Manicure tip art is a submission type competition.
2. Artwork is to be designed on Fingernail tips and mounted and placed on a black board
3. The tips must be displayed separately. Do not attach them together.
4. A full set of 10 Finger nail tips with a maximum length of 2cm must be used to create the artwork
   and must reflect different nail sizes, as real fingernails do. Example of a good tip size range: larger

size 0 or 1. The middle tips 2,3 or 4 and the smallest size 5. Anyone using all one size tips will have
   an automatic 5 point deduction to their final score.
5. Competitors may use the following nail art media: ALL Gel products, ALL acrylic products, ALL types
   of painting (Micro art), Polish. Nail art embellishments such as Rhinestones, pearls, bullion, foils, and
   holograms may be used. Chrome and pearl dust, any nail art effect offered for nails.
6. No decals of any kind are allowed. Stamping is allowed.

Salón Stamping Tip Box


Rules


1. Stamp Art Tip Box is a submission type competition.
2. Artwork is to be designed on Fingernail tips and mounted and placed on a black board
3. The tips must be displayed separately. Do not attach them together.
4. A full set of 10 Finger nail tips with a maximum length of 2cm must be used to create the artwork
   and must reflect different nail sizes, as real fingernails do. Example of a good tip size range: larger
   size 0 or 1. The middle tips 2,3 or 4 and the smallest size 5. Anyone using all one size tips will have
   an automatic 5 point deduction to their final score.
5. Competitors may use the following nail art media: ALL Gel products, ALL acrylic products, ALL types
   of painting (Micro art), Polish. Nail art embellishments such as Rhinestones, pearls, bullion, foils, and
   holograms may be used. Chrome and pearl dust, any nail art effect offered for nails.

   the nail when they arrive. Removing of product prior to arena evaluations are forbidden.
7. The nails are to be manicured during the competition, soaking is optional. Lotion and massage is

8. All models nails will be checked to make sure manicures and filing of the nail were not done
   prior to the competition. This includes removing of product.

9. Nail must appear to be at least 1 week without any type of manicuring and surface filing.
10. If it is determined that the models nails have been manicured or file on prior to the competition
    a 5 point deduction can be enforced on the competitor.

    off gel, color gel and gel polish. No traditional nail polish or any type of paints that are not
    considered a gel. Only gel products are allowed.
12. Top sealer must be applied
13. Rules of sanitation must be adhered to.
14. All products must be clearly labeled with manufacturer’s labels.
15. All products and tools used for manicuring are allowed.
16. All products and tools must be on the table prior to the start of the competition.
17. You are not allowed to get products out of your case or have product brought in from outside of

4. Competitors will have 2 hours to complete one hand.

5. Competitor is allowed to choose to sculpt with gel or acrylic and the nails must be sculpted with
   forms.
6. Tips are not allowed.
7. The competitor is allowed to use products with white, transparent pink, cover pink, clear, shimmers,
   effects and glitter that has NO COLOR! Metals, such as Gold , silver, copper, are allowed.
Glitters (of the colors mentioned above) will be allowed in all their sizes and shapes, they will only
count as 20% of the artistic design and will rise in creativity level if used in a new way.
8. Design work can be applied inside the application without limitation.
9. No artwork or embellishments on the surface allowed. The nails must feel smooth on the surface.
10. No embellishments of any kind inlaid into the application.
11. The nails will be scored in a similar manner as most artificial enhancement competitions.
12. The nails must have the appearance of a French style nail, however, the separation between pink
    and white does not have to be in a traditional smile line.
13. There will also be categories such as creativity, artistic design and originality that will be scored.

Rules


1. Competitors must polish one hand of the model with a red cream polish only – NO base coat, ridge
   filler or top coat may be used. The polish may be any brand, as long as it is a red cream polish. No
   frost or shimmers allowed in the polish.
2. These are traditional competitions with French style pink & white acrylic nails to be created.
   Transparent pink, clear and white acrylic products are allowed. These are NOT salon style nails. The
   nails are expected to be thin and have a c-curve in the structure. Smile lines are to be created.
3. Time allowed is 2 1/2 hours (150 minutes)
4. The competitor must use acrylic and sculpt the nails with forms. No tips allowed.
5. No gel sealers on any kind are allowed onto the acrylic nails.
6. No topcoats on the exposed Pink and white acrylic application is allowed to create shine.
7. Cuticle oil is allowed.
8. Water and soap may be used in finishing.
9. Competitors ARE ALLOWED to pre-size or cut the forms prior to the start of the competition.
   Doubling of forms is allowed. Metal supports are allowed and can be added to the form prior to the
   competition
10. No glue is allowed in the Acrylic sculptured competition.
11. Electric files are allowed, but competitor must supply their own machine, electrical cords and

6. Oil is allowed.

FANTASY NAIL ART

1. Fantasy Nail Art is considered a submitted art competition because the artwork is prepared prior to
   the competition and then presented on a model at the time of the event.
2. The model must be complete with the costume, make-up and nails on. The model should be
   completely finished and reading for judging when arrived.
3. It is not necessary for the competitor to be present during the actual judging. Competitors that are
   competing in other competitions during the time of judging May choose to present their model and
   then leave them for judging so that they can still compete in the hands on competition taking place
   at the same time.
4. Only the model and competitor are allowed on the competition floor for judging.
5. Competitors may use all types of products used in the nail industry.
6. Artwork must be on every finger.
7. The tips do not need to be glued onto the models nails. Clips are allowed to help support the artwork
   on the model to prevent the need of glue.
8. Competitors may use items to help create the 3D figures. Wire, netting, balloons or anything that
   helps to build out the artwork except molding clays.
9. Three dimensional, pre-cast embellishments, feathers, decals, gems, accessories, ornaments or any
   form of fantasy is allowed. That includes LED lights or electrical parts. Anything to add to the
   artwork.
10. The artwork should be 3D artwork displayed on every nail.
11. There is no limitations as to how large the artwork can be.
12. Keep in mind the costume is a large part of this competition. It should represent the theme of the
    artwork.
13. The artwork should have all types of artistry of all styles and creativity.
14. There should be a strong theme presented in the artwork
15. Total possible point is 140.

Structure criterias

 .    Convex

 .    The exterior of the nail form should be completely symmetric

 .    The surface of the nail should have no inconsistencies or appear to be uneven on
      the outer
      surface.

 .    The judge will examine the nail by looking at nail head on and check zone 3
      from the back
      side perspectives check zone 2.

 .    The convex or surface of the nail should be symmetrical throughout the entire
      nail until it
      reaches zone 1

 .    The nail can earn a 1/2 point for each correct zone.

      Concave

        •    The interior contour of the free edge must be completely symmetric.

        •    1 point can be earned for each nail


             Arch and Apex


        •    The high point (apex) of the arch should not appear overly apparent.

•    It should have a subtle and gradual incline that is located consistently in
             the second zone
             (see example) of each nail.

        •    The entire arch including the apex, should be not be overly apparent or
             appear too flat in the
             second zone.

             the entire nail from a profile perspective.

        •    The nail can earn a 1/2 point for each of these two criteria that are
             required



Judges Instruction for Shape and Refining Categories


 •    1 point for each nail.


 •    1/2 points may be given if the nails has two areas that are required to be
      judged in that
      category. For example, there are two sidewalls on each finger nail.
      Therefore, half points
      may be given when judging sidewalls and lateral side extensions


 •    Each nail is judged on its own merit.


 •    The nail must meet all of the criteria for the category being judged to earn
      its point.

Free Edge Thickness


 •    The nail must be consistently thin throughout the nails free edge and measure
      the same on the sidewalls.

 •    The center of the free edge should not be any thicker than 1.5mm until it reaches
      the top of the finger tip from the underside of the nail.

 •    The nail can earn a 1/2 point for each of these two criteria that are required.

 •    See example of measuring tools used to measure the thickness.

Sidewalls

 •    The Free edge must extend straight out from the lateral folds and the groove-
      wall..

 •    The nail should be uniform on each side.

 •    There can not be any ridges on the free edge extension.

 •    The sides of the free edges should feel smooth and appear to be filed clean.

 •    There is a 1/2 point earned for each side of every nail being scored.




Lateral Side Extension

 •    To find the lateral side extension you must look at the extension from the nails
      profile.

•    The nail should appear to have symmetry so the side extensions are consistently
      located.

 •    There should be no exposure of the natural nail's lateral fold.

 •    There is a 1/2 point earned for each side of every nail being scored.


Surface Smoothness


 •    Any surface that does not have 3-D design or artwork on the top of the nail
      should be completely smooth

 •    There should be no scratch marks or ruff spots from the product application.

 •    If gel sealers are used, all of the nail should be sealed with gel sealer or top coat
      completely.

 •    1 point can be earn for each nail

      Consistency of Uniformity

 •    Each nail must look similar in shape to earn 1/2 point

 •    The shape of the nail should have the same degree of angle if shapes such as
      Stiletto,
      almond or edge is presented to earn a 1⁄2 point.
