Mornington Peninsula Shire’s
COMMITMENT

The local food industry has a very important role on the Peninsula in providing safe and
healthy food to thousands of residents and visitors each day. The quality and diversity
of foods on offer is one of the main attractions for visitors to the Mornington Peninsula.
Mornington Peninsula Shire is committed to assisting food businesses and consumers
through the Best Bites Food Guide.
This is an important initiative to ensure that safe and healthy food is sold, and to support
and promote the local food economy. It also helps consumers to find food businesses that
provide customers:

• Healthy eating options
• Allergen information
• Smoke free outdoor dining areas
• Premises that are accessible to all patrons
Best Bites also assists the Shire’s strong commitment to carbon neutral principles by
promoting resource efficiency by local food businesses. The Best Bites Food Guide includes
local food producers and farmers markets to foster a holistic approach to food on the
Mornington Peninsula.
Please support this exciting program and consider the businesses and agencies in this guide
when buying food or dining out on the Mornington Peninsula.
