Lions in Vancouver this week looking for Sixth U SPORTS title in program history
The York University Lions men’s soccer team is on the hunt for
its sixth national title and fifth in the last 11 years this week as the
U SPORTS championships kick off at the University of British
Columbia in Vancouver, B.C., on Thursday.

The eight-team tournament runs until Sunday, with the gold-medal
final set for 2pm PT (5pm ET) at Thunderbird Stadium. All 11 games
will be webcast on usports.live.

The Lions are competing at the national tournament for the
sixth straight year and will be looking to get back on the national
podium after finishing in fifth and sixth-place the last two years
respectively. York won national banners in 2014 and 2015 and
finished in fourth-place in 2013 at the beginning of their six-year
run. They will begin this year’s title hunt against the Trinity Western
Spartans on Thursday at 11:00am PT (2:00pm ET) in the opening
game of the tournament.
