G.V. Water—Incident
   Response Event

G.V.Water Leadership program: On Wednesday, the 8th August, GV Water came to visit us and
completed a mock incident with the grade 6’s. We were assigned a problem to fix. The problem was to fix a
blocked pump in the community. We were put into groups and had different roles to play in resolving the
problem using a range of real life strategies to come up with a solution. It was a challenge but the we all had
lots of fun. [Co- Written by Madi Deith and Isabelle Lavis].

Prep Open Day: will take place on Wednesday
Aug 22nd commencing at 9:15am for our Preps

students in the Prep classrooms, and a separate
session for parents in the staffroom.
How the Murray River was Made Mosaics
in school entrance: We are very proud of the
beautiful mosaics that have been mounted on
the front wall of our administrative building. This artwork was the result of our Sharingstories project and
depicts the story of ‘How the Murray River was Made’, which has become our special story shared by local
community members. Our grade 5 students completed the mosaic in Mrs Sofola’s art sessions. We see it as a
welcoming symbol for our community and invite you all to come and admire this amazing achievement.

Showing pride in your learning is very a
strong indicator that students are invested
in the learning process. When students are
engaged in the learning process, their
results improve. We have students who love
to learn in their leisure time. Our knitting
program (term 2 & 3) is run by committed
volunteers who come along each Tuesday
lunchtime to teach a group of students how
                to knit.
