Registration Procedure
There is no self-registration! We will be registering for you. Simply fill in your first and Session Dates & Times
second choices and leave the rest to us. Once your form is turned in we cannot access H Session I: June 22–July 2 (no school July 3)
it to make any changes until after pre-registration.
• How it works. Registration forms are processed by lot, and they are placed in their H Session II: July 6–17
lot in the order received. The lot order changes every year so that over four years,
every child will get an opportunity to be scheduled first, and they will also get a turn Both sessions:
at being last. H 9:00 am-1:05 pm (at Kent)
For example, Johnny Smith may be in “Lot A” this year, meaning that his lot will be
registered for classes first. Next year his lot order will be changed; he may be registered Kinder camp ONLY:
second. The year after he may be registered third. The year following he may be • 8:45 am-12:45 pm (at Bacich)
registered fourth. If he is still with us the fifth year, he may be registered first again.
• Class choice. If your first choice isn’t available, we will put you in one of your second
choices. If all your first and second choices are taken, we will put you in similar classes, EARLY Registration Deadline
and we will call you to get your okay before charging you. If you give us NO second Your registration form must be in our hands by
choices we put your form aside, and the registration process stops for your child. We Wednesday, April 22 at midnight. Mail, fax or hand-deliver
register everyone else before you and call you at the end of the day. it to the Larkspur Recreation Department office.
• Requesting your child be in a class with another child. Our system of
registration for 1st through 7th graders cannot accommodate those requests. If it
is imperative that your child be placed with another child (such as with twins or for Find us on Facebook
emotional security), then submit the two children’s application forms stapled together.
Often times it is better to submit them separately in order to get first choices. Call later
and make changes ASAP afterwards, since spaces frequently open up, new classes are
added or class grade ranges are expanded.

Bughouse Chess - Dan Trimbach
The other chess class! Kids begged for us to offer this class, so here you go!
Bughouse chess is a popular and fun variation of chess that is played on two
chess boards with teams of two players. Regular chess rules apply, however
if a piece is captured on one board it will be given to the players of the other
board. These new pieces can be placed on their board instead of making a
normal move. Knowing how to play chess is a prerequisite.
