From the President’s Gavel Happy July! The heat and humidity is upon us. It’s a good time to take a ride in your COOL Corvette! There are plenty of opportunities to join Club members on one of the scheduled trips. On July 14 we will travel to Grotto Pizza at Harvey’s Lake. We did this trip a several years ago and everyone enjoyed it, even though they got lost on the way. We will leave from the Walmart parking lot at 1 PM. Macungie is on Saturday, July 20. Usually a group goes down around 3 PM. There are cars of all types and age. Quite a sight to see. Of course, there is always a stop for dinner on the way home.
Since it was rainy and muddy when we had originally scheduled the trip to the Eastern Museum of Racing, it has been rescheduled. We will be meeting at First Citizens Bank in Friedensburg on July 28 at 1230 pm. I have been told it is very interesting with all types of race cars. Following the museum we will go to Dukes along the river, across from Harrisburg. It should be a great day. Also, anyone who wants to go on a last minute trip each week, most Sundays Bob Madrigal or someone else may go somewhere to eat. If you are interested in going and are not sure where the group may be going, contact Bob.
Everyone is welcome.
We are gearing up for the SVCC Corvette Show. New signs have been ordered. Trophies are also ordered. Tom Clark, former Chief Meteorologist at WNEP TV has agreed to come again this year and he MAY be bringing a guest with him. It is always a treat to have him here with us. Maybe one of these days he will even buy a Corvette! Please start collecting items for theme basket for the Pick A Ticket Auction. If you don’t want to make up a basket, you can donate money and we can purchase the items and make one for you. This is one of our biggest money-makers.
Please help make our show a success.
Without you, our members, we wouldn't be able to raise funds for our charities at our only fund raiser. I thank you in advance for your help with this event. The next Club meeting is on July 11. WE WILL BE HAVING HOT DOGS BEFORE THE MEETING AROUND 6:30! Join us. I look forward to seeing all of you. Nancy Kraft SVCC President FREE STATE CORVETTE SHOW The annual trek to Ocean City, Maryland will be here before you know it. This year is is the FIRST weekend in October. We will be leaving in the morning of October 3rd and returning on October 6th. We have gone to this event for many years. It is always a good time.
If you have never been to this event, you NEED to go. The boardwalk cruise and and the Inlet Corvette Show are sights to see! To hold your reservation, you will need to pay a deposit of $100 by our August meeting, which is August 8th. Any rooms not claimed will be turned back in after that date. Hope to see some new faces this year as well as those who have gone in the past. TOYS FOR TOTS Just a reminder! The Club voted to make a monetary donation to Toys for Tots again this year. You can make your donation any time BEFORE the November meeting. We will be inviting a representative from this organization to the meeting in November to present them with a check.
Thank you in advance for your gift.
