Wetsuit Policy We want to run a fair event for all, however swimmer safety is absolutely paramount. Bondi to Bronte is an early season event, water temperatures and the surf conditions can keep people in the water much longer than their average 2km swim. Every swimmer can wear a wetsuit if they wish, but only 'non-wettie wearers' are eligible for overall and age group prizes. There is also prize category for overall first and second place wetsuit wearer. Our event Timing partner, Multisport Australia, will list results in a separate category for 'wettie-wearers'. Swimmers will be separated as they cross the finish line into wetties and non-wetties. Swimmer belongings will be transported back to Bronte, so feel free to bring your wetsuit to make the decision once you are at Bondi. IMPORTANT: Wetsuit swimmers will be marked off as they cross the finish line. Please follow the directions of our timing staff and volunteers. Elite Division Swimwear Policy The Event adopts the following policy in regards to swimwear for competitors in the Elite Division only. For water temperature = or > 18C BL8 (By Laws as approved by the FINA Bureau on August 5, 2016) We permit all FINA Approved pool* swimwear per the following By Law. BL8 - BL8.3 for pool swimming competitions* Swimsuits for men shall not extend above the navel or below the knee, and for women, shall not cover the neck, or extend past the shoulder, nor below the knee. All swimsuits shall be made from textile materials. For water temperature less than 18C on race day wetsuits are permitted for elite division entrants and strongly encouraged for all participants. *while the Event is an openwater course, we do not follow the FINA openwater policy on wetsuits for water temperature above 18C. The policies and procedures to raise a complaint and dispute must be completed as follows: Each complaint/dispute must be submitted in writing to the Race Director within 45min of the swim for consideration. Each complain/dispute will be dealt with by the Race Director of the Bondi to Bronte Ocean Swim and the Bronte Surf Life Saving Club Event Committee. 6
