Student matters during June term break

Please note the following student involvement in school programmes during the June term break.

     Travel declaration exercise

Please note that the school requires your child / ward to do a declaration of their travel plans for our records.
This is so that we can advise students and their parents accordingly should we receive any notification of
travel advisories. Parents may make these travel declarations on their child’s / ward’s behalf through
Parents Gateway. If the parents do not have Parents Gateway, students may submit the travel declaration
through AsknLearn.com instead.

     Holiday homework

Students have been assigned holiday homework in order to help them stay connected with their academic
work in preparation for learning at the next stage. These assignments reinforce concepts that were taught
in Semester 1, and allow students to practise core skills required for the subject. The school takes a holistic
view of the students’ learning to calibrate holiday homework that is appropriate for them. A separate letter
containing details of the holiday homework for each level and stream has been given to the students.

Attire and grooming while in school

Students who are coming back to school for CCA trainings should be properly attired in full school uniform
or half-uniform with their school-based CCA t-shirt. They may change into their full CCA attire during
trainings if necessary, but must adhere to the school’s attire and grooming requirements as detailed in the
school rules. (https://tampinessec.moe.edu.sg/about-us/school-rules) Students who are not properly
attired may be asked to return home to change before they are allowed to enter the school premises.

     Consolidation week for 4E / 4N / 4T / 5N (24 - 26 June)

For students to apply their classroom learning and improve the depth of subject understanding, students
sitting for their national examinations this year will attend lessons on 24, 25 and 26 June.

Additionally, 4N and 4T students will be sitting for the oral component of their English preliminary
examination on 26 June. As per examination protocol, no marks will be awarded to students who miss
their papers without valid medical reasons.

A separate letter has been disseminated to the students with more information on the consolidation week
timetable.

    Back to school matters

     Reporting to school

Semester 2 will start on Monday, 1 July. The reporting time for Semester 2 remains at 7.30 am each day
and 8.30 am on Tuesdays. Please note that there will be a new timetable for Semester 2, which can

All students are required to report to school with proper attire and grooming as highlighted in the Tampines

     Temperature Taking Exercise

The temperature-taking exercise is conducted twice a year in Term 1 and Term 3 to ensure the school is
prepared to re-activate temperature-taking should there be a need to. It is also done to educate students
to take personal responsibility for their own health. The next exercise is scheduled on 4 Jul and students
are required to bring their personal oral digital thermometers and ensure they are in working condition.

    Academic Matters in Term 3

     Conduct of national examinations

that arrangements can be made for them to take the exam on a different day during the allocated exam
