Online matchmaking for the fashion industry.
Collaboraon with EEN and FashionUnited Fatma Sener, Author

In the fashion industry it is becoming more and more important to start an online business.
The online fashion market increased by 14% in the first quarter of 2018. The growth of the mobile
channel is remarkable, with a turnover of 6.65 million euro, according to an arcle on the internaon-
al b2b fashion plaorm 'FashionUnited'. This is one of the reasons why every fashion entrepreneur
needs to be aware of the online environment within their own company. For more informaon,
please check this Dutch arcle on FashionUnited.

FashionUnited
FashionUnited is the leading internaonal digital plaorm for the fashion industry. They offer a
one-stop-shop plaorm with news and trends, a career center, an events calendar and business intel-
ligence. FashionUnited is acve in 30 countries and provides the latest fashion news for 20 countries
in local languages.

Why and when should we publish on of our blogs on FashionUnited?
The audience of FashionUnited is the audience we would like to reach. New fashion entrepreneurs,
entrepreneurs who are not yet working together with EEN and the rest of the b2b fashion industry.
The blog about the internaonal business of ‘Sandhya Manniesing’, owner of the label “All together
Sandhya Clothing” has already been published on FashionUnited and seen excellent results. Here you
can read the Dutch arcle.

Collaboraon with EEN
Fatma Sener advisor Chamber of Commerce Netherlands (EEN partner) experiences that a lot of
entrepreneurs in the fashion industry are not ready for the digital era; however, consumer behavior is
becoming more digital in recent years.

To have a good overview about companies in the online fashion market, Fatma was invited to the
Emerce Fashion Event by FashionUnited. Together with FashionUnited, EEN The Netherlands will help
entrepreneurs in the fashion industry to connect them with relevant and reliable partners. EEN The
Netherlands and FashionUnited are discussing the possibility of a matchmaking account in
Amsterdam, 2019.

"Balc Fashion & Texle Riga 2018"
The texle and clothing sector is a cornerstone of Latvian industry. In past Latvia used to be one of the world’s biggest manu-
facturers of flax. These texle tradions have developed over me, and today we see well-equipped sector with the latest
   technology and know-how.

Latvia has in fact become a place where many well-known European, Russian and global brands place their producon for
smaller orders that need fast turnaround, or that give preference to environmentally sound producon.

In 2017 the texle industry contributed 3.4 % to the total manufacturing output of Latvia, reaching a turnover of EUR 248 mil-
lion. Tradionally, it is also a highly export-oriented sector, with 70-80 % of output reaching foreign customers. Latvia is also
major lingerie-manufacturing centre in Eastern Europe, with more than 50 producers located in the coastal city of Liepaja
alone. Only France possesses a higher concentraon of lingerie companies.

In the light of this Balc Fashion and Texle Riga exhibion is a wonderful plaorm for new business contacts, partnerships and
collaboraons. Latvian Technology Centre (LTC) has been parcipang on Balc Fashion and Texle Riga exhibions since 2009.
