Recreation is Back! Mari Pizur In Lackawanna County Recreation we are finally back live and in person! We have had a spectacular year of virtual entertainment but it can never replace being with people. Welcoming back our Thursday Night participants was fantastic! We practice social distancing with temperature checks, hand sanitizing and masks. We had a dance at the YMCA where we placed buckets 8 feet apart for social distancing but it was worth seeing each other and dancing together. It was definitely a fun filled night. The month of May has set up a variety of activities on Thursday Nights outdoors. We had Rob Smith the Juggler at McDade Park, a Scavenger Hunt at Nay Aug Park, an Advisory Meeting /Ice Cream Social at Aylesworth Park and Bingo at Nay Aug Park. We will be offering one dance a month with EJ the DJ in June, July and August. Our Carbon County folks were reunited as a group with their friends at our Family Advisory Luncheon and a Family Bingo Day outside under the pavilion. Even with a mask, you can see everyone smiling and enjoying gathering with their family and friends. Good times are back!
