We believe that the effect on the local economy would be a positive one. Cotton On is a destination store, allowing trade with us would bring additional people to the Sydney city area, also having apositive effect on those other retailers and businesses trading within the area on Easter Sunday, 4. What is the likely effect on employees or persons worklng In the shop if the exemption is granted? It is voluntary for all casual employees to work on Easter Sunday and If they elect to work they are paid their ordinary hourly rate plus 150% for all time worked.

All permanent employees are entitled to take a day in lieu for working a public holiday which Is mutually agreed by the employee and Cotton On Group. We believe that there would be a positive effect on employees as those who chose to work are provided with the opportunity to earn incremental income. The Cotton On Group estimates that this would create an opportunity for approximately 5-10 team members. Note. This application will be put on public exhibition by the Secretary, NSW Treasury.
