Business and Law

“When I finished high school I knew I wanted to enter the business
workforce, but I was unsure what I wanted to study – so I went with
accounting and business law. I have now realised that it was the best
decision that I could have made.
The business environment is rapidly changing and evolving, and I think my
course allows you to see that, and teaches you the ins and outs of not only
accounting, but also the business world as a whole. There is so much more
to your career then numbers and Murdoch allows you to see that.”

Murdoch science courses are ideal for those who wish to tackle
some of the most significant social and scientific challenges of our
time – from addressing food shortages, climate change and mental
health epidemics, to influencing politics and government.
As a Murdoch Science student, you will have the opportunity to:
•• Learn at our on-campus farm, veterinary hospital, equine centre, and high-tech teaching surgery, as well as have the chance to study at
our Tropical Marine Research Centre on the Ningaloo Reef.
•• Complete practical placements at organisations like Perth Zoo, Cat Haven and the WA Department of Agriculture and Food.
•• Create new materials for the medical, engineering, energy and telecommunications sectors in our nanotechnology laboratories,
   using industry-standard equipment.
•• Study units at our partner universities across the globe.
•• Study two majors or degrees at once to graduate with more career opportunities.

                                                                              TISC

I undertook two weeks of intensive language studies at Atma Jaya Catholic

  The Good Universities Guide 2018

murdoch.edu.au/Study | 1300 687 3624
When you use technology to power creative solutions, you’ll
be able to make a real difference to the economic and social
wellbeing of our society. Our students have addressed some
of our biggest issues: they’ve helped make our WiFi more
reliable, they’ve built robots, and they even made apps that
improve patients’ recovery time from strokes.
As a Murdoch Technology student, you will have the opportunity to:
•• Study courses that have been developed in conjunction with an industry advisory panel, with representatives from
some of WA’s biggest energy companies and banks, government departments and internet service providers.
•• Take project-based units, where you’ll work in a team and consult with real clients to recommend, develop and
implement new technologies that solve business problems.
•• Undertake internships through our dedicated Work Integrated Learning program.
•• Choose your major at the end of your first year, so you can explore all the fields of IT before you specialise.
•• Participate in national competitions like the Hackathon or Cyber Security Challenge Australia.
•• Learn in our brand new IT lab.
•• Take units that will prepare you for industry certification exams.
•• Study units at our partner universities across the globe.
•• Study two majors or degrees at once to graduate with more career opportunities.

                                                                                  TISC Recommended
