English Language Programmes
The University of Limerick Language Centre
offers a variety of courses aimed at making
sure that each student reaches
their language goals.
The Preparation for University programme caters for the language
needs of students who intend to study for an undergraduate or
postgraduate degree at University of Limerick. It is designed for
students who have reached the academic entry requirements for
their chosen degree but need to improve their English in order
to meet the English language entry requirement. It is suitable for
applicants who have received a conditional offer from University of
Limerick. Programme length varies depending on level of English.
Students who achieve a final passing grade in pre-sessional English
exams will have met the English language requirements for entry
to the majority of programmes at University of Limerick (equivalent
IELTS 6.5). It will not be necessary for such students to take an
external English language test at the end of the Preparation for
University programme.
