Latest release improves user experience and streamlines tax processes
Version 9.0 of Vertex® Indirect Tax O Series® will be released in August, 2019. This new version adds more
value in every area—new tax content, expanded reporting, more precise jurisdiction assignment capability,
improved security, added database support. All wrapped in a brand new user interface that leverages the
latest technology standards. In addition, Vertex O Series 9.0 supports communications services tax which
enables customers to manage communications tax on the same platform as their sales & use tax and value
added tax.
Vertex O Series v9.0 includes the following Communications Services Tax

Avoid the risk of Adobe Flash end-of-life
What’s happening and when?
The end-of-life date for Adobe Flash Player is 12/31/20. As of that date, browsers will block Flash content entirely and the
only option to continue using applications that require Flash (including Vertex O Series 7.0 & 8.0) will be to use an older
version of a browser and an unsupported version of Adobe Flash, both of which will incur security risk.
How to avoid the risk?
Vertex O Series 9.0 features a new user interface leveraging HTML5 instead of Adobe Flash which mitigates the risk of
the Adobe Flash end-of-life. In addition to mitigating that risk, some customers may also want to consider moving to an
on-demand or cloud deployment to meet their changing business needs. Vertex has invested in a robust portfolio of solutions
