The VCA was established in 1972 and became part of the University of Melbourne in
2007. In 2009, the VCA and the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music came together
to form what is now known as the Faculty of Fine Arts and Music, cementing the
University’s presence in the cultural precinct of Southbank.
