In August a group of happy recycled

presented them with the two cakes and a

Come Again
      The Middlewich U3A Linedancers, newly
formed in February 2012, were asked
to dance in Winsford Town Shopping
Centre to mark the opening of a ‘Drop In
Centre’ called The Lighthouse for a local
Church. Liz Allcock says: “Because they
have only been dancing since February
and we were asked to dance to some
religious music (a challenge for the leader)
several members of Sandbach U3A and
Sandbach Shufflers LDC joined in to make
it a success. Many of the ladies had not
danced in public previously but thoroughly
enjoyed the experience and we were, in
fact, asked to do it again some time.”

proved to be a fun day of Line dancing in
spite of a weather forecast that was enough
to deter the most resilient of Line dancers.
They told us: “Strong winds and heavy rain
were forecast but we went ahead with the
event and the weather was much kinder to
us than expected. Dancers were able to
dance from 12 noon until 4pm before the
rain set in and even then, it was not severe.
So many stayed to dance the whole of the
five hour event up to its conclusion at 5pm.
Thank you to everyone who attended. Next

Firstly may I say thanks for a great what they would like. I find it suits most my friend and teacher
magazine. I really look forward to it people to teach at least the Linedancer She spells it out so plainly, not like a preacher
arriving each month. I love the articles and Top Ten dances so that when dancers visit Which way to turn and where to put my feet
features and of course it’s a chance to see other classes and areas they have some Dancing in line and keeping it neat
what new dances are around. common ground. Beyond that I teach a
mix of easy to difficult with country as well Doing a lock step to the left and then to the right
I have been Line dancing for about 18 as pop music and that way dancers can A triple turn really gives me a fright
years and teaching for over 15 and I pick and choose what they want to dance. Crossovers and shuffles and now a grapevine
love it just as much now as I did in the I can’t believe these legs are really mine
beginning. I like the fact that it has evolved Can we all not just relax and enjoy our
and that all types of music is used. There dancing and please stop moaning. It is It’s ten o’ clock now and this is when the night ends
is something out there for everyone at a great way to spend some of your free Lots of hugs and kisses, saying goodbye to friends
whatever level and musical tastes. I am time, it keeps you fit and keeps your mind Take it easy now to recover from the pain
always quite saddened when people active and just think of all the great people Then turn up next Tuesday to do it all again
moan about how our hobby has changed and good friends you have made along
but wouldn’t we be bored if nothing ever the way. Long may it last! So thank you Janet, you’re such a gem
moved on? I think that most instructors That’s why we turn up again and again
now know their class well enough to teach Ann Smith, Middlesbrough Having a laugh and meeting people too
Yes folks, dancing really is good for you!
